LeChuck Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 If you have Service Pack 2 installed you may want to take a look at this. Service Pack 2 limits the number of open connections to other computers at 10 (supposedly to prevent viruses spreading as quickly), however this can sometimes seriously damage the speed of torrent downloads. That program lets you change the registry entry to have as many open connections as you want. I changed mine to 100 and it makes a huge difference for some downloads. It looks a bit scary when you do it (computer bleeping noises and a Windows message) but I've never heard of any problems with it. Edit: It also improves things like Soulseek.
