Blackburn have been told by Espanyol to stump up £18million for Pablo Osvaldo or forget about signing him.

Rovers boss Steve Kean is desperate to land a new forward this summer after none of his current crop of strikers reached double figures last season.

And Espanyol ace Osvaldo, who hit 13 goals in just 22 La Liga starts last term, has been mooted as a possible answer to their goalscoring problem.

But, after reports in Spain revealed that Blackburn have already made a £13m offer for the Italian, Espanyol have once again insisted that they will not sell for any less than £18m.

Osvaldo's agent, Dario Decoud, has confirmed that no one has come close to meeting the asking price yet, and that his client is not actively looking to leave the Spanish side.

Tottenham are also understood to be in the hunt for the 25-year-old former Fiorentina striker and they could hold a trump card over Blackburn because Osvaldo would prefer to join a club playing in Europe should he leave.

wow 18 million for a player they payed 4.6 mill for in august 2010, he had good run for just 6 months so that makes his price go up that much, i would keep away at that price to much of a risk

always wondered why fiorentina sold him.. theyll be kicking themselves now!
