Connor O'Riordan has now returned to his parent club Blackburn Rovers after they requested for him to go back earlier than planned. McCann revealed the news of a January recall last month but having failed to make the last few matchday squads, the centre-half has now officially ended his stay in South Yorkshire.

"Connor has gone back to Blackburn," McCann added. "He went on Tuesday. They asked to take him back earlier and we were fine with that. They want to try and adjust him to get into their team.

Jack Barrett's loan at Tranmere has been extended until the end of the season - Tranmere fans seem happy enough

Harrison Wood & James Edmondson have had their loans extended until the end of January,.  Which means Edmondson may face Adam Wharton in the FA Cup next week

Charlie Olson has had his loan cut short, no mention of Harley O'Grady-Macken, although it is possible his loan is due to end on Monday as his loan was "until January" unlike Olson's which was originally a season long loan

Complete waste of time for Charlie that loan to Oldham

Agreed, & not wanting to repeat myself, but.....

Olsons loan is probably the most perplexing, he was a stand out player for a team who just missed out on the tier 5 play offs last season, and then moved on loan to Oldham, who won tier 5 play offs last season to win promotion.  In theory, that should be a very similar standard, yet he has not made one appearance the league this term.  I would not be loaning players to any team managed by Miicky Melon in the future (no I am not suggesting he has held them back due to his Dingle history, just that he does not seem to be the best when it comes to bringing through young loan players).  I could write one off as being a "bad fit", but for it to happen with 2 of our youngsters at the same time (O'Grady-Macken & Olson) shows a pattern that should be recognised and avoided in future

Looked a good match when he made the move, but both of those loans to Oldham have been, as you said, a complete waste of time
