Excellent podcast with plenty of insight, the only disappointment was  after about 22 minutes Jabob stated as a fact that an all white shirt was our first colours. He was not challenged on this, despite there being no evidence to support it, and more to suggest otherwise

I genuinely think we should let this go for the sake of our collective mental health 😆

The shirts will be sold by Rovers at some point irrespective of what we think. As stated multiple times there are minutes backing it up…but obviously no photos.

We have looked at perhaps doing our interpretation of the shirt as a casual wear item (& for a fraction of the price) but sourcing something of requisite quality is challenging.

I need 45 more people to pledge to buy a “Bob Crompton” shirt & I’ll investigate that as our next retro 😉

He wasn’t corrected re Gary Aspinall either 😆

Only got halfway through it so far but they need to brush up how water flows and the fact you can't fit a full pint into a half pint glass.

The river is the councils dept not Rovers and far be it from me to defend the Ewood regime but it's better to deal in facts.

Ewood Park existing and needing to drain into the river isn't a choice made by the council, though. It's not causing an environmental hazard when the water level is high.

As I understand it, there were enquiries made by the club for an alternative (viable) solution and were presented with one. Guess the "who" and "why" those enquiries weren't pursued?

I was more referring to them pooh poohing the issue of more and more things being built on or near the rivers course and the run off and extra things drained into it.

Definitely a real issue and something i flagged ages ago and definitely not the clubs fault.

@Herbie6590 are you able to actually sell Rovers shirts with the 'actual' original Blackburn Rovers badge? I would 100% buy, the club don't deserve a penny.

We’ve avoided anything with a badge that is trademarked…club has copyright protection agents prowling eBay, Etsy, Facebook etc.

The Maltese cross is interesting as it’s quite difficult to say it’s identified with Rovers given its origins.

You seen Everton's new stadium?

Could not confirm or deny the pseudonym given the sensitive nature of the topic

It didn’t come across as Jakob was hiding the name, more that he misremembered it.

Gary has been mentioned many times on this Forum for his role with adidas & the whole Spezial thing…not a major point in the scheme of things. 👍

Yeah, now google the word 'new' then google sea and tides, then google 'skint football club run by morons with drainage system laid 35 years ago'.

Finish off by googling the new drains and new estates, roads, motorway and industrial estates built on or near the course of the river Darwen in the last 30 years.

All the answers are in there somewhere although iv'e left out the words 'climate change'.

I have an idea for you, it’s a bit late now but what about a Rovers Christmas jumper? Classic football shirts has some amazing ones but amazingly they seem to have most clubs apart from ourselves. They could have done a really smart 1995 one. The one on the Rovers website this year is naff

It’s on our list for next year…we needed to have designed & ordered by September for this year.

I have a design in mind…more of a sweatshirt than a sweater but it will hopefully work.

We have a Christmas tee shirt design coming next week 😉
