who do you all use for best flights only?

from leeds ,manchester or Liverpool

Problem with the cheapest flights from these places can be early departure times and late back arrival times..The most convenient times cost more if on offer..Also theres expensive airport parking ,it ,can double in cost, if you dont book a week in advance..,Taxis about £50 to liverpool,£40 to Manc but only if you book up here to come and pick you up...Not from there on your arrival back..Will be a lot more...Which airport is not usually one of choice but what destination you want..Their destinations are not idential.

Manc is best usually cos of the traintimes,but you suffer a long walk through the terminals .Liverpool is smaller so easier when there , but requires a bus ride from Lime street,.Traintimes can be hard to work around.

If you're just looking for a flight from A to B then the best advice is to buy direct from the airline. Using an online third party only makes it more difficult if you want to change or cancel.

If you don't know who flies where use a search engine like Kayak to find out your options, but then go to the airline's own website.

If you want a more complicated itinerary e.g A to B to C to A, then it might be better to use a specialist like Trailfinders.

I usually use skyscanner.com to find cheapest flights, once youve found a flight that suits you it redirects to the airlines s website where you buy it direct from them, The majority of flights i get are easyjet, only because they're usually the cheapest for the destinations that i go to, never had a problem personally, the flights are normally pretty boring and uneventful, the flight attendants are normally robotic and annoying, but they get you there.

Also i usuallt use bookings.com to find a hotel, hostel, ect.. That suits my plans and what i want ti pay.

I never buy package holidays(and i never ever ever ever stay at holiday resorts eeeww), prefer to find the flights and hotels myself so it feels more customised and you get exactly what you want at a price that suits you.

Agreed on skyscanner, also has the facility to choose all nw airports, and you can search the prices within a few days either side.

Best bet though, is to find out when flights are going on sale, and be ready to book on day one. Some airlines will already have released dates, some will wait until 3 months before.

Anywhere in Spain for this Summer is going to be expensive. Everyone is staying away from Turkey and Greece because of a perceived terrorist threat and going to Spain instead. the airlines have moved some planes to the Spanish market but there is a limit to what can be swapped around and there are just too many people chasing too few flights. There was an article in the paper today about how Mallorca is more or less full for the Summer.

I think you've got three points here. As O2G says a lot of people want to go to Spain, secondly October is half term and lastly it depends what you call cheap.

For me cheap is the wrong view to take, it's better to consider value for money. I booked returns to Reykjavik for July, peak season, £191 and recently Nice just 8 days ahead of travel, at a weekend, for £124. I think both are really good value. Cheap is only cheap when no one else wants to go.

For Teneriffe I'd by a package holiday. Always going to be the best value.

Try Monarch and Jet2. They are usually the cheapest and decent flights too but then I prefer early morning flights going and afternoon returning. It's usually cheaper if you go later but you waste a day of your holiday.

Monarch's cheapest is on 5th October (Afternoon flight)

Weekend flights are always more expensive Abs. Sunday 23rd at 14.20 looks about the cheapest but if you've got to fly weekends you've got to pay for it. Mind you if you have free accommodation you aren't doing too badly are you, and Tenerife South is pretty cheap when you get there. A large beer was 99cents last time I was there and a 3 course meal with a nice steak was 8 Euros. Can't remember the name of the restaurant sorry but it was in Playa de Las Americas.

Checked Jet2 too but the weekend you want to fly is the dearest in October. Must be because it's a school holiday. Might be cheaper to keep the kids off school and pay the fine.

I see somebody challenged the fine recently and won the case in the high court. The authorities are panicking and trying to change the law.

Tripadvisor warn about that lot Abs. They insist that you go on the "presentation" which takes all day. Then the salesmen get nasty and tell you that you will be blacklisted if you don't join the club at £599 a year. Also if you don't join they don't take you back to the airport and you have to pay for a taxi. I think you did well to get out of that.

Personally never had a problem with them, lots of Asian flights booked with them before
