but that's what we do best. Don't ruin all our fun!

Did you mean tram or train? Didn't know there was a tram from Newport. We got the train from Newport for the Worthies final. Parking was a bit of a pain around the train station. The station car park is too small so you have to find alternative parking. Luckily it was a sunday so the shopping car parks were empty (I think they were closed but I used the exit to get in and it was free!) Anyway, trains into cardiff were brilliant. You'll have no problems getting to the game on time from there. Getting out of Cardiff was another matter. We queued in the rain for what seemed like a couple of hours outside the station. Plenty of trains were coming and going for routes to Reading but they seemed to neglect the local services.

Just had an interesting chat with a guy at National Rail Enquiries. Basically they have conflicting information in their database. There are no trains running between Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway. That is confirmed and will be replaced by a bus to Newport. The conflicting part is that they still have information from First Great Western saying that all their trains are running from Bristol Parkway to Cradiff. However, the engineering work is actually just outside Bristol Parkway (east side) so that says there are no trains stopping between Swindon and Bristol Parkway. So this means the fast tracks are open and they are doing work on the slow tracks. So I now need to ring First Great Western and find out how they are going to run a full service from Bristol Parkway if they are not stopping there. The guy was a Newcastle fan btw and a very nice chap too. I wished him luck and he said he would wish me luck but wants Blackburn to win! (he thought I was an Arsenal fan as I asked about trains from Paddington).

True enough about the line out of Bristol to Cardiff but it all depends on where on the line any possible work may be. This Map from the same site shows all the links between Bristol and Cardiff. So the work could potentially be between Temple Meads and Filton Abbey Wood which would only shut the line for Arriva. Either way, Just looked and Bristol Parkway is actually nearly 7 miles out of the center to it may be easier hiring a mini-bus or just driving.

Quite right, if you do a search on national rail enquiries, there are two lines from Bristol. The first is run by Arriva going from Bristol Temple Meads (which is the line the official site says is closed) The other is from Bristol Parkway run by First Great Western (damn, awful operator I have to use every day ) This line appears to be open and both thetrainline.com and great westerns own site are letting you order tickets already.

OK, we lost today, however, I don't know about anyone else but I now feel a lot more confidant and up for the semi final. We were never out of that game and created a couple of good chances ourselves. Shame Reidy could shoot straight at the end. Of course my feelings might change close to the semi's when Arsenal start getting their first team back.

Warning, I went to Bristol before the Worthy Cup final with 4 other lads and it was an absolute nightmare getting in pubs. Unless you had a West Country twang it was couples only in most pubs. Only need to get into one though. If not, there must be a bar at the hotel!

Trains from Bristol go hourly, take 40 minutes and cost £7.30 return, so not a bad bet.
-
But you are forgetting that Arsenal fans will be alright, so all's fine and dandy with the FA.
-
I don't think Arsenal fans will have that many problems. Certainly for me, going from Reading will cost £37 (if I book in advance) and trains go hourly taking 1hr 31. Add a bit on from London, but not that much more. Hourly back too, but you have to specify a time and I can't see trains running that well after the game. Certainly didn't after the Worthies final.

Another thought, what's going to be the chance of parking anywhere at all near the ground or even cardiff at all for that matter as 12:15 on a saturday will be right in the middle of the busiest shopping day. marvellous.
-
Well I won't be staying on the Saturday night, can't get a room anyway. Spoils it really as I was looking forward to a cracking day/night out. Now to see what the trains are like from Reading. Quite good hopefully.
-
Well nothing still on the FA website, or any other for that matter that I can find.
-
Plus, there appears to be no accomodation left in Cardiff for the Saturday whereas I've found somewhere for £50 for the sunday

Well both of these games have just gone on ebay for £16 each! I am still hoping some nice person will lend me their copies but no one seems keen so far.

" Laughable post from the former brewery worker who clearly has yeast between his ears. " LOL, says it all really doesn't it!

Not condoning any of that but to be fair they are not the only ones. There were plenty of mentions of Rovers fans ripping out seats and pinching signs etc at Turd the other week.

Just got my ticket. 15 minute wait with 20 people in the queue (on the phone) so not bad at all. The ticket office said that there are plenty of single tickets around. They are having problems seating people together now. Right, now I have to figure out what to do on Wednesday, do I drive back down to Slough after the game and go like a zombie to work the next day, take the day off or skive? Decisions, Decisions.

Interestingly watching on TV there didn't actually seem that much passion, not by either set of players anyway. The crowd were up for it but the players seemed to be going through the motions. The BBC "pundits" didn't have one good thing to say about the match at the end. Lets hope the game at Ewood is better but I think on that performance, the BBC may pick a different game for TV.

I was watching the game with my mate (who is a Burnley fan) and he kept commenting that he was a fantastic talent but with no end product. Got to say that I agree with him. He skipped past many a Rovers defender only to lose the ball stupidly. Now who does that sound like?........I think it begins Emer...

Well, it's finally been announced for the PC and XBOX. Out June 7th in the US and June 10th in Europe. Still ages off -
I've got a good feeling about this game. I reckon it will be 3-0 to the Rovers. A striker has to score for a change, so being that Dickov will be the only one on the pitch, he'll get one. Emerton another and maybe Thompson if he figures out how to kick the ball again.
