  1. So, because I have not looked at players beyond the ones that I know about personally, I should not cast a vote? So come the next general election, I should not cast my due right to vote as I am too narrow minded and stupid not to look into the Green Party or the National Front or any number of the other fringe parties that everyone ignores. They all may have some very good policies but very few people vote for them. Then when I vote for maybe one of the two main parties, I should be chastised for exercising my right just because others do not agree. Maybe we should become the nanny state that Labour seem to be taking us down and someone else can cast my vote for me. I've voted, get over it and lets get onto finding out who wins this. I am actually finding this quite interesting and I would have no problems with any of our fine players winning. All worthwhile in their own ways.
  2. Now there's democracy in action. I admit there's three other greats but still think Sherwood is worth my vote and it shouldn't be counted? Go on then, shut the voting and give it to Forrest. You know it's what some round here want, even if others don't
  3. Apologies Bryan, my opinion doesn't match yours. As for Crompton or Latheron or Forrest, admitted they are greats but can I say they are the best? I don't know. I voted for the best player in my opinion, I saw Sherwood command a championship winning team, I think that makes him pretty damn good. Wow, the politics around here!
  4. Well I just voted for Sherwood. Great player! I would have gone for Super Atko, just been rewatching the 91-92 season highlights again. Those were the days.
  5. 2-1 to us as we still can't defend. Although it does seem to be getting better touches wood
  6. 2-0 to the Rovers. However I have no idea how or even who is going to score. Will it be Dickov up front on his own or will Stead be given another chance from the start? edit- what am I on about, we can't defend, 2-1.
  7. Listened to the new Eminem album on the way to work this morning. A few interesting tracks but a lot of average. May take a little longer to get into than his last couple.
  8. Just back from the game myself. Totally enjoyed the first half, second was one to forget. I pretty much agree with other comments. Emerton needs putting out of his misery. Bloody awful at crossing and fell over the ball too often. Even got a small cheer from the fans late in the second half when he tried to confuse Ashley Cole by doing a french jig over the ball. I think he then passed it short to someone thus putting them under pressure. Souness needs shooting for his constant mis-use of Domonic "I'm rubbish in midfield" Matteo. Why bring Yorke on for Stead? Dickov was great again, running everywhere and making a nusance. Yet again had a good shout for a penalty. The Ref was usless and quite rightly had chants of "Are you D'Urso in disguise". Got to add, I think de Pedro did some very nice accurate crossing when he came on. If he can get match fit and carry that on, we may actually get some good service for the strikers. Just need to get rid of Emerton now.
  9. According to the workanywhere.com website, he will not need a work permit to play in the UK.
  10. Just because he is Blackburn born and bred does not mean that he shouldn't also do his job. No matter how bad the penalty decision was, Southampton needed the points, Beattie is paid by Southampton and Beattie had to try and score. If the press reports are correct, Beattie is trying to move to Villa. It would not have looked good to them also if he had deliberately fluffed the shot.
  11. Perhaps he was just celebrating his last goal for Southampton? I've no problems with the way Beattie dealt with the penalty. He didn't claim for the pen but took it nicely which is what he is paid to do.
  12. The reports on Sky Sports seem to suggest that Tromso like the amount that has been offered but not the terms. They want more up front which would obviously lead to less later, also they are mentioning moving on fees. Maybe this is what is annoying the Rovers so they are telling them they are pulling out again.
  13. Wish I could, I've paid to go and see it now. Still Arsenal may be entertaining.
  14. I find it interesting that JW says "that's all I wish to say at this stage" which implies there will be another "stage" to comment on. Or is that wishful thinking?
  15. Even with all 11 men in the box, we'll still manage to all go for the same ball and leave a 10 mile gap straight down the middle.
  16. I blame Beattie for being on the pitch at all when he should have been injured. I just knew he would do something against us!
