Can anyone name a younger version of Danny Graham type?

Pitman? He is 30 but still a good 3 years younger than Graham.

As far as an out and CF goes, the best we could do is Ulloa at Leicester on loan but perhaps that's a stretch.

  2. Something doesn't sit right here, only yesterday or day before he was only an "option" but we had "other targets".

If its true the only thing I can conclude is if Rovers have said.. Here's what we're willing to pay, let us know but we have other targets so don't leave it too late... They've dangled on transfer market without anyone biting, panicked and taken the money.

Depends how cut and dry you look at it. Are we more likely to spend 2.5 million on Peterborough's Maddison or 3 million on Newcastle's Armstrong?

Just going off the fact how he's been talking about signing proven champ quality. We haven't bid for Armstrong yet and he isn't a priority due to his lack of experience at this level... TM's words.

Peterborough are pretty well known for getting top dollar for their players. If it is us that's in for him, then expect it to be done late.

Release clause of 2.5 mill I think but I doubt its us anyway to be honest. Just can't see us spending 2.5 mill on a league 1 player.

Also, with his world cup reference and criteria for spending on young players with potential, sound like he is after players from the premier league fringes.  Probably ones into the last year of their contract.

On a side note.  Very surprised that no one has taken a punt on Maddison from Posh yet.

Looks as if Maddison is viewed by TM in the same way as Arma and Chapman, an unproven championship player. Where he and his recruitment team must be convinced they can get get more experience at the same age for around the same money... Which given our limited budget will be good going. I'm not convinced they can tbh, but I hope to be proven wrong. Just will make TM comments on Armstrong and Chapman more baffling if he has to finally accept that those are the best he's going to get for the money.

    Proof is in the pudding.

If we spend over a million (“seven figure deals”) on more than one player I’ll be amazed.

Meanwhile the season starts in 3 days and our squad isn’t ready and supporters don’t even have season ticket cards! It all feels very disorganised.

I see what he's doing to be honest. A player is only worth what someone is willing to pay and the fee's for some players are a joke, he's willing to leave it late and betting on clubs to get desperate to get his first choices. Got no reason to doubt him tbf.

The way I see it is that we’re replacing Payne, Chapman and Armstrong from the league one squad. Palmer has come in as an upgrade on Payne (hopefully), and I think Mowbray is trying to do the same with Chapman and Armstrong. Personally I think there are better players out there than Chapman and Armstrong, but would obviously welcome them back.

There is better out there if you can afford it.... Which seemingly we can't and that makes TM comments even more baffling... Especially at this stage of the window. Strange comments.

I’m not saying we’d have spent loads in the summer of 2016 but I think part of Coyle being given the job was that he agreed to work with practically no budget whereas almost all other managers would have looked for some level of commitment, especially Warnock.

Post wasn't particularly aimed at you just a general commentary that debating the advantages of loans and permenant signings are pointless from a fans perspective because we don't see sales reinvested into playing staff anyway. I understand why people crave permenant signings, I still do, I guess its a sort of tribal thing of a player belonging to us but I've come to accept in modern football, in our circumstances... It doesn't really matter anymore.

  9. A lot of talk of loans, resale value etc... Are people forgetting who owns the club in this Mowbray euphoria? Are people forgetting how they sold around 40 million pounds worth of players in 18 months and reinvested 300k in Derek Williams? If we get a decent player be it a loan of perm, be happy cus the bottom line is it doesn't really matter as sales are highly unlikely to be reinvested.

  10. “I’m trying to loosen the burden on Bradley Dack, Danny Graham, Dominic Samuel, those sort of players. They need some help and after losing Adam Armstrong, Jack Payne, Harry Chapman, we have really lost a lot of attacking minding players,"

I don't know why but I take this as Armstrong is one that he's moved on from.

People spreading all sorts on facebook and social media.. Saying they have spotted armstronng and chapman with benno all laughing and dancing together

highly doubt we will be getting both armmy and Chapman but would love it to be true

What I mean is though, they'd just announce it. I could be wrong, I just can't see this fuss for a signing everyone knows is coming. No fuss for Rothwell and Davenport and they weren't even on anyone else's radar.

Its just Caddis one year extension... Chill.
