I am starting to get a bit worried about next season. If we continue with the possession based approach and recruit players to fit this system and it fails to work (since the resumption of the season it seems most managers had figured out how to nulify it and beat us) I am starting to think we will be in a relegation dog fight without and fight.
We may beat the top 6 teams but fail to beat the bottom 12 teams who are happy for us to have all the possession and just hit us with a set piece goal and use their better defensive organization and capabilities to defend the lead.
It will fail without doubt - you can have all the possession you want but if you don't do anything with the ball you have no chance
Throw in our inability to defend as a unit ( even without proper defenders) and the square pegs and round holes we are already know about and it just gets further depressing
Don't worry ... defenders are coming I tell ye!!

'Defenders are coming'
Matters not who we buy with the incompetents in charge - and until Moanbray is potted only one way we are heading

Granted but making us sound like a small time outfit lucky to have stayed up is particularly galling.
Plenty of fans believe this tripe too.
Like the post Stuart - not a social media brainwashed myself but have you commented back as such?

Great news for Villa, pleased for them. Maybe not this season but they will be back in the PL soon.
Meanwhile we are chicken fodder.
You overestimate our status ARA .. we have gone through the motions of fodder and are now the plain old chicken sh..

This maintains my theory that appointments now have to have a promotion on their CV to get the job.
Lambert with Norwich
Warnock with QPR
Adkins with Soton
Coyle with dingles
Mowbray with WBA
Someone somewhere has decided that experience of winning promotion from this league is essential. Its a shame they didn't insist on that back in 2012 when Kean went and they were spending money. These days its irrelevant really who is in the dugout. Cheston has made clear the 'ambition' at this club is to cut costs and recent managerial appointments show this.
mmm ..full circle the irony is Big Sam had this on his CV

Now that would be brilliant and the publicity would be good in that case.
Exactly - nobody mentioned about interrupting it - more about using it to our advantage
Would it still go ahead though if we went into administration?
-
Question - if the club goes into administration - could this still go ahead?
For me light bulbs should be pinging here - we surely have to be able to use this to our advantage somehow

Regardless of whether they are getting burnt by him, just goes to show how ridiculous the whole situation is and what is wrong throughout the game - especially when you have countless 'tea ladies' losing their jobs.
-
Might also instill a bit of pride and loyalty in the shirt and badge if they do make it ( however unlikely in might seem in this day and age )
Regardless, its still an achievement whatever the shirt that is being worn just makes it better with it being in the Blue n White
As ME states above hopefully they will win - positive mental attitude - and drive them on to bigger and better things

Sadly we have to say goodbye to another member again - a great poster and always made me laugh with his own unique way of posting.

Sad sad news
Condolences to his family and friends and all that knew him
One of those you saw at games and knew without actually knowing him on a personal basis

Part of my early years of following Rovers, a true wearer of the shirt imo probably should have scored more than he did but certainly partnered well with Garner.
probably reason he didn't get the admiration his workrate and gameplay should have done
RIP Chris will be remembered fondly and our thoughts go out to your family.

Just got around to updating on this - despite the initial problem of being overbooked/too many off the street- once we had got sorted (party of x17) - service and food where excellent and would definitely recommend.

Very worrying that the police intelligence were videoing poeple entering the Aqueduct pub on Sunday.
Worrying?
Not the first time they have done this - used to do it regular before - also at the Moorings.

Me too.......... until the alarm clock goes off.
Would that be the alarm to advise you of your game of golf Theno?

This post is beyond belief. This season there had only been two games where we have not got the result we would probably have expected before the game;
I expect us to beat anybody at home

Can you not find some column space to publish some of the most ludicrous comments for the nation? It'd be a laff if nowt else.
..... it might be just me Theno but I feel some people on here may see some irony in this comment

The kid is an asset for Rovers right now, but really would not make an impact at Chelsea this season.
beg to differ on that Nicko .. he has got the bite of experience and staring position in the Premier now and has not looked out of place with our bunch of misfits.
Given the support he would get from the talent at Chelski never mind just the midlfield - given a starting berth a suspect we would see an even better player.
May not make the impact of Drogba but would certainly receive acclaim imo.

Really Gav ?
With respect for me highlights the issue completely and saddens me entirely, especially when it comes from those like your good self who I only met through Rovers and has the Blue n White running through them.
In context 'slagging' off is probably touche' in response to your 'lazy characterisation' as I'm certain there is no intention of that , and would say probably more envious feeling of you and the same of others that you can still tolerate what is happening to be able to still attend...as I certainly can't
Mow boringbray and crew for me are the ones that need to go first if not only for the turgid happenings at base level and the team to try and resurrect more interest for absent fans. We know the underlying issue is the buffoons in Pune but that as as we have found out to our cost is a different can of worms; but to also have the most boring hypocritical, drab and potentially 'dangerous manager and motley crew I have ever known at the club it is really a bigger than ever concern.
I certainly can't stomach what is going on, even from the simplicity what we just see on the pitch as find it just so boring and frustrating just like the goon that is controlling it.
As we all know the club is in a mess still but my hat goes off to you and others for being able to overcome this.
