  1. I have been one of the biggest critics of Benni on here, but thought he had an ok game upto his substitution yesterday - but have to agree with Abbey on his straight down the tunnel exit. - also think Hughesy needs to explain the principle of the offside to him.

As Eddie states we just don't appear to know what to do with ball.

On top of that we need to cut out the defensive mistakes we keep making.

  2. Outside the moorings we were halted for what seemed like an eternity (needed the loo) apparently because the moorings was full of dingles.

There weren't no clarets in the Moorings - it was full of Rovers

What had happened is just before the convoy of Rovers fans - a convoy of Burnleh had just been marched up and they where holding you back to keep 'the distance' between both sets of fans

  3. Here is the Lancs Evening Posts Neil Farnworths match report.

    Cracking OJ cracking.

Could you remember beforehand or after reading the articles as I can hardly remember any games post 86/87 even though I know I was definitely at the Brighton game.

Anyway this made me chuckle from the report

'Two players were booked by referee Key who found himself in trouble with the crowd on more than one occasion'

Looks like things haven't changed and it was actually Wimbledon players that got booked then!! :P

  4. I wish there was a local match doing the same, I would definately go along.

So would I ... but again would also probably have to be at one of the lower league teams also.

This is what the campaign is all about by trying to highlight it to other fans and show a bit more solidarity amongst supporters to try generate some interest and persuasion to the powers that be that this is what fans want.

Its not about having all standing grounds ... just areas where people can stand if they WANT to ( an aspect that some people seem to find hard to understand about the campaign)

  5. OK

As promised now the transfer window as shut for the time being - not sure whether he deserves a tribute for it considering his performances of late or if it now typifies him but for the hell of it

As mentioned there was a clue in the original thread and you where getting warm and it is a MADNESS track (ONE STEP BEYOND and B side to 'IT MUST BE LOVE'

Although was popular during the 80's it may be a tune some are not familiar with, but its one of my favourites and one that has had a ablast or two by England Fans in its originality on away trips in the 80's.

So KAYOS Productions presents to you to the tune of 'Ben and Breakfast Man' ........

    'BED N ’BREAKFAST PEDERSEN

    (FREEKICK MAGICIAN)

WELL THERES A MAN WE KNOW

AND HE LIKES HIS CUT N BLOW

    BUT WE DON’T REALLY MIND

IF HE HAS THEM ALL THE TIME

BUT IT HAS TO BE SAID

THAT HE IS KNOWN AS GAMST NOT PED

AND A FIRST WE THOUGHT HIM A GOFER

AS HE SEEMED LIKE A LOAFER

HE’S CHANGED A LOT SINCE THEN

BUT SOME OF HIS WAYS HE JUST CAN’T MEND

    AND WHEN WE PLAY

CORNERS & FREEKICKS ARE HIS SAY

IT’S NOT A WHIM OR FAD

HE HAS PRACTICED SINCE HE WAS A LAD

FOR WHICH HE HAS NO SHAME

HE IS A MASTER AT IS HIS GAME

    HE DOESN’T NEED A HAND

    HE IS THE FREEKICK MAGICIAN

HE IS, HE IS, HE IS S THE FREEKICK MAGICIAN

HE IS, HE IS, HE IS……….. '

    I thank you :lol::unsure:

  6. For anybody interested or is in the area and is for standing to be brought back

I have received the following mail from SUSD

The Stand Up Sit Down Team'

  7. Shame, that was the best I could think of, and the chance it's an english theme I never heard is quite big. Curious to hear what you thought of... :brfc:

As mentioned its one of my favourite tunes.... there's a clue in the 1st thread.

Come up with alot of possible tunes/two liners etc just when I'm driving ... you know just start singing along and putting your own words in.

Some I have tried but died on their feet as Bob Fleming well knows and some just disappear and are forgotten (posted a couple on here).

As mentioned some are just little chants as this one could end up being, but its also a full song (however its possible that its a tune some people have never heard)

It could catch on, it might be crap to some and then again he could even move clubs!!

  8. On the theme of 'Jezus Christ, Superstar':

    Morten Gamst - Pedersen

La - La - La - La - La - La La La Laaaa

    or (same theme)

    Morten Gamst - Pedersen

Nobody knows just how good you are!

Wild guess and doesn't makes sense. But you asked for a shout, so here it is.

Good effort Daremz - I actually toyed with this tune but it has lent its hand in the past to certain footy whims.

  9. I have penned a song for our enigmatic Norwegian fella that I had originally penned for the Chelski Semi Final at OT (good job I didn't)

Anyway I am about to reveal it after the Transfer Window has shut its door just to make sure he is still here.

Lets just say there is madness to it (literally) ..... ;) and is based on one of my favourite Tunes

Feel free to take some guesses but let it be known there is no other footy anthem to this tune (at least not that I'm aware of)

  10. :D

Who cares about his attitude, I want a striker who scores 20+ every season, not a son in law.

Well it would appear most do on here he be geebe, especially the attitude he is showing at the moment if all is to be believed.

Remember a few us are not new 'knee jerkers on this - the warnings where there early doors.

Not saying he is a bad player American, just if he played the way he is probably capable of he might have got nearer that mark.

I just find it funny now people seem so surprised with his actions - I don't want to see him leave for a lowly fee however if we can make on him, I say take the money - Hughesy will replace him.

  11. Whether or not Benni stays or goes -it appears to me that people are forgetting about Matty.

He has already proven he can hack it and score goals, has just had a decent season , got England recognition and will be all the better for it next season.

So if he goes and we get decent money and Roberts stays I'm sure Sparky will have an Ace up his sleeve (which I still think is Bellamy) but may well take a gamble on the likes of Nugent or a.n.other.

  12. the thing is, that is what some of us where saying about him anyway - it was of the opinion that he was an athlete and not a footballer (Bert#1).

People know my feelings on Bert#1 as I haven't gone quietly about it on here, however, I tip my hat and salute the guy (Bert#2)as I feel he has just had an excellent season.

May not be the best RB but has filled in well for Rovers

  13. 1993-94 Chelsea

Last visit for me to Stamford Bridge, a 2-0 win. Possibly Glen Hoddles fisrt match in charge, Newelly and Ripley-ey I think scored for us. See away ends thread for description of the terracing Chelsea had then. Remember clearly swooning at being informed that a match day programme cost £2.00!!!

Same here, hot day if I remember as well

    A

s for Derby, aggro started before the match with the police turning around a coach of Rovers fans somewhere in Derby and I think word got around

After the match Rovers fans where trying to get into the Derby end

  14. My best friends dog says he sniffed the backside of the FA poodle and its wigan away first game.

Strange but that's what I think or Villa at home :P

Don't know if anybody else has picked up on it before but our opening games never seem to be the glamour ones if you know what I mean and we always seem to either play a team that has struggled the previous season or has just been promoted.

  15. I too remember! I logged on to teletext (my god, was it that long ago?!) and the banner headline was "Blackburn to sign top British Defender". My immediate thought was Campbell and if you had asked me to name 20 "top British defenders", Dailly wouldn't even have crossed my mind!

Same here, we where on our way to the Lyon game at the time- was hoping to god we didn't sign him but when we got on the Ferry at Dover a Derby fan confirmed that we had!!
