  1. That's exactly what boring Arsenal did in the 90s. I do think JDT will rely on the defence less if we have better attackers to call on, and it's good that the players can do it. Under Mowbray I had no faith in the defence at all.
  2. Nah, nowhere near as bad. It was only near the end that Huddersfield threatened to nick a point but it was clear that every Rovers player was ordered to get behind the ball and defend it. The player that looked dangerous for them was Sorba Thomas, what a good winger he is. Every attack went through him. In the first half Huddersfield were hear to defend a point and make it difficult for Rovers to get forward. The Coventry match mirrored Wigan.
  3. And... It was clearly by design. Rovers allowed Huddersfield to come at that them with the gameplan of defending the 3 points. It's been done a few times and is how JDT wants to play. Maybe if we had more firepower he'd be less defensive.
  4. We definitely need to play with width, they don't like crosses or any height in their box.
  5. It's a beautiful day!
  6. I'm not sure if that was a poor performance. No urgency in the first half but Hudds had every man defending, the pitch wasn't ideal and we ended up going in 1-0. Second half JDT got them to grind out the result again. Bad management or is he testing them? Mowbray attemped to grind out results and continually failed.
  7. Phew... Sign Sorba Thomas in January, he can run at defences. And a striker.
  8. He's missed when he doesn't play.
  9. DIAZ! I said he was due a goal.
  10. Frustrating to be goalless but even more frustrating to have not forced a save once after 30+ minutes.
  11. No urgency again. Get it forward, then two passes back, lose it. Get it back, 30 passes at the back later long ball it, lose it. Etc. Hedges makes a big difference to the team retaining the ball. Some creativity needed going forward .
  12. Yep other teams rise and fall. It's what we do that matters.
  13. Someone's brother is without her tights tonight.
  14. I wasn't just talking about the teenagers in the squad, and they aren't the ones getting injured every couple of games too. I have to question the coaches/doctors/treatment room as it's been going on for years now.
  15. How's about just as a novelty, we sign a striker that scores goals? It's been a while.
  16. Better fitness coaches, better squad... Other teams seem to manage. JDT's only been here for months, hopefully it'll get addressed but clearly some players can't play two games in a week and we must be averaging an injury per game. We could just be very unlucky.
  17. The frustrating thing about it is he put in a shift against against Hull to grind out the result, and against Coventry he didn't seem to have any urgency about him for what was a big opportunity. A very lazy showing against a poor side. If he can't shine when playing against teams down the bottom of the league, suffering from illness and injury then he never will. If Gallagher had played in place of him against Coventry we'd have got something out of it. All it needed was someone to show some physicality and application. I'll be very disappointed if he starts again this season, I'd rather see Dolan up front.
  18. I don't think the players are fit enough for two games a week. Also the players must know they don't have enough firepower at the moment, especially when we have our only centre forward out. It must be a kick in the ass to think, now we have to score two. Easier to play with confidence when you have decent strikers in the squad.
  19. Some context required. We were talking about the Burnley game, how is he meant to bring his own strikers in before then? As for glued to the wing, that was in reference to the Coventry game.
  20. We'd need three hands to count that our number of wins is higher than yours (you'd be fine), which with the disparity between the two squads is incredible. A constant injury list and thin squad since the season began will no doubt keep us inconsistent. It's heartening to know we're still in the automatics despite that.
  21. I'm not sure it's even fair to expect promotion this season given what he inherited, not just a thin squad but arguably an unfit squad. Especially if the rumours are true he wanted another forward before the end of the transfer window.
  22. There was no reference to loanees in the article, but if it was, a PL loanee wouldn't have come cheap.
  23. Frustrating player for sure but before his injury didn't he score 3 goals in 4 games? Brereton is due a goal.
  24. Seems to be a fetish of JDT for some reason.
