  1. Help Wanted ! Behind the Rovers : a visual guide of Blackburn -----your recommendation, suggestion, advice and volunteer guide I am about to visit Blackburn from Tokyo again and I am planning to make a visual guide of Blackburn for overseas Rovers fans who visit my website. My website is the only Japanese one about Blackburn Rovers, and I get a lot of questions from people who are interested in visiting Blackburn and Rovers and want to know how to get to Ewood Park. I'd like to visit and photograph pubs where supporters go, places of interest (including Uncle Jack's house), museums etc. I'd like to know what's behind the Rovers. I'd be interested in memories and photographs of Rovers supporters, stories about Rovers, and to photograph any interesting memorabilia anyone has.† I'd like to talk to supporters about family history of supporting Rovers, or how they themselves became fans and also those who have been fans for many years and their experiences. I appriciate your help. --- If you would have a time to meet me, PM me please. I'll stay at Blackburn area mid Apr.
  2. Lure of Europe growing stronger http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...1119908,00.html ---- :: Champions League - FOUR. Top two in the Premiership (currently Chelsea and Manchester United qualify automatically for group stage), third and fourth placed teams (Liverpool and Tottenham) into final qualifying round. *If Arsenal win Champions League and finish outside top four, they become third English club straight into group stage, Tottenham go into UEFA Cup. :: UEFA Cup - THREE OR FOUR Fifth and sixth in Premiership (Blackburn and Arsenal), plus FA Cup winner or runner-up (West Ham, Charlton or Middlesbrough) straight into first round. *If Middlesbrough win UEFA Cup and reach the FA Cup final, they will go into first round as tournament holders and seventh placed Premiership team (Bolton) would join them. :: Fair Play - ONE Country which finishes top of UEFA's Fair Play League (currently Belgium) automatically allocated one place in UEFA Cup 1st qualifying round. All countries with a final average of eight or above (England was 8.023 in December) go into a draw for the two remaining places. If successful, the highest placed team in Premiership Fair Play League not already in Europe (presently Charlton, then Wigan) would take the European place. :: Intertoto Cup - ONE Highest-ranked team to apply not already in Europe takes England's place in third round. Not all seven teams to express their willingness to participate have done so publicly but it is believed Blackburn, Bolton, Everton and Middlesbrough are among them. -----

  6. ----- "If you look at the last two or three years we've nothing to lose now. Every game will be like a cup final. Hopefully we can pick up five wins from the last seven games and that will get us where we want to go. "In the last couple of years we've been battling at the other end of the table - this year we're battling to get into Europe. We're used to pressure games at the end of the season and hopefully that can benefit us during the run-in." ----- Steven Reid Mirror

  12. Icons site registration is Free. http://www.icons.com/contract.html ====================== Thursday 16th March 2006 Time to discuss my Rovers future There have been a few whispers that Manchester United have been watching me recently and if that's true then it's very nice to hear. My first 18 months at Blackburn Rovers weren't the best, but I do feel much more at home now and it's good to know that others have noticed my upturn in form too. I'm enjoying myself a great deal at the moment. To be honest, it doesn't mean anything to be linked with a big club like United if the club aren't prepared to sell me, and judging by what the Blackburn chairman said in the press, he wants me to stay. That is also great to hear because it shows I am wanted here. This whole situation has really given me a big confidence boost. I only have one year left on my current contract so I'd like to sort out my future one way or another soon. It's flattering to be linked with other teams, but I am also happy at Blackburn. The club has recently begun contract talks with me and I hope to be able to agree a new deal with Rovers very soon. The team itself is flying at the moment, especially at home where we have made Ewood Park a kind of fortress for visiting teams. It's a pity our away form hasn't matched the quality results at home, but we are still more than happy with our position in the league. Champions League is a distinct possibility for us, but we won't be overly disappointed if we don't make it, as long as we qualify for the UEFA Cup. Reaching Europe would constitute a great season for Blackburn Rovers and I think it is more than possible for us to achieve it. Our next four games are against Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Wigan and Portsmouth, so on paper we have a half decent run of winnable matches to look forward to. I can really see us fighting it out for fourth or fifth spot all the way until the end of the season. Finally, I just want to say that I really enjoyed a trip down to the Cheltenham horse racing festival this week. Four of us flew down by helicopter which was a nice treat, and we enjoyed the day out a lot. It's funny, because while we were there we saw players from loads of football teams including Newcastle, Everton and Crystal Palace. It was a good day out and one that I'd thoroughly recommend!
