  1. Why PG? I'm no supporter of the death penalty but if you go to another country and break their laws you have to take their punishment. Mind you it is Singapore, where smacking someone's backside for dropping gum gets a tanned hide. That's a little bit harsh but certainly a no-nonsense approach.
  2. McEveley blow for Ipswich Jay could be facing a month out.
  3. You can sometimes get on the BBC News by using a proxy server such as http://www.mrprivacy.com. The reason they ban the BBC news section is apparently because you can get it in Chinese. It's not banned in Hong Kong however. They also banned Wikipedia recently because some things they disagreed with were placed on it which is damn annoying as it is such a useful site. Where are you anyway? Beijing? Shanghai? As for Ferguson...he may be playing for a different manager very soon. Who's to say the manager will want him? Maybe Souey will put in a bid...he only has about 12 midfielders so it's not out of the question!
  4. If Hughes does have long-term plans for Gallagher then the loan is giving him valuable regular first team football. If not then he is pushing his price up each time he scores. Wonder how much we'd want for him?
  5. Rangers lost again, this time 2-1 to Hibs and only remain fourth on goal difference. Ferguson scored with a deflected shot and then was sent off for two bookable offences. Way to go Barry! One step forward and two steps back...
  6. Well...at least Dom is back to save the day...if it needs saving that is. Matteo nears comeback
  7. Excellent match report from AESF. An interesting read. Coming away from Highbury pointless is nothing new but raving about our performance there is a first for a few years. We are a team on the up.
  8. Most hangover cures actually contain alcohol. Not sure why but it helps your body get rid of last night's excess by having a (small) bit more in the morning. A hangover doesn't solely relate to dehydration, there is still the matter of getting the crap out of the system from what you have drunk. Hence why red wine gives a worse hangover than white wine.
  9. One of the greats of football should have a minute silence. As his lifestyle...well, he didn't go around killing anyone did he? If he wanted to spend his money on the booze and the girls then fair play to him. As for not trying to give up the booze, he did. Even when drinking made him physically sick he still needed it. When even a liver transplant isn't enough to stop someone drinking then you have to accept then well...that's life. Or, sad as it was for Best, it meant death. Have to feel for his father though who has now lost a son as well as a wife to alcoholism. A great footballer first and foremost. Do some people always have to sit and judge? Forget whatever waste there may have been, remember the greatness. RIP El Beatle.
  10. The response was due to ulster rover claiming that Rangers were the most successful club in the world, which is plainly rubbish. While not wishing to belittle the achievements of the Old Firm that is obviously a ludicrous statement. Sure Scotland have a decent record in European competition, although Dundee United haven't won a European trophy as you suggested. Couple of great campaigns in the eighties though. As for "we've got more to be proud of" taunt...grow up will you? Each football supporter has as much to be proud of their club as any other...if it's just the silverware that makes you proud then you are no better than any glory supporter. A committed Rochdale fan has as much to be proud of as any big club supporter. Regarding the religion/sectarian issue; it's only been mentioned by a few posters so it certainly isn't an overall view. While I'm not Glaswegian I am also bored of hearing it brought up on every occasion Celtic or Rangers are mentioned so I can understand why you are so irritated by it. It wasn't helped however by Ferguson himself who brought the issue of his own experience of it into the public domain via his interviews upon arriving at Ewood Park. Agree about Ferguson getting his comeuppance...happy days! Hopefully the Hearts-Hibs challenge can leave Rangers languishing in fourth for a while to come.
  11. It was only a throwaway joke based on shilito misspelling a word/a typo ('midless' instead of 'mindless')...I didn't mean it! PS - There are lots of gorgeous Glasgow girls! Happy now?
  12. That's not totally fair...they are not all midless. In fact, most of them had big wobbly beer bellies last time I went. ...and that was just the women!
  13. Personally I'd like some of what MGP is drinking... Blackburn star confident of Gunners upset However I think if I had a drink to hand I'd pour it over this Arsenal fan's head... "I'm told the team are going through a rigorous training plan ahead of the Blackburn game to get them used to the tactics employed by Mark Hughes' men. They are spending today being elbowed in the face, getting studs in the knee, their hair pulled Savage-style, kicked in the ###### and pinched in the back when the ref's not looking." Arseblog The Arse indeed...
  14. Don't think Liechenstein even have their own league Phil, they play in the Swiss leagues. FC Vaduz are the handiest of the bunch traditionally.
  15. Wahoo! In that case I'll say... Arsenal 3 Rovers 1
  16. Yeah!!!...so stick that in your pipe and smoke it Real Madrid!
  17. Blackburn Rovers - Tugay injury worry Arsenal 3 Rovers 1
  18. I'd check that link but unfortunately the news section of the BBC website is blocked in China!
  19. ...and apparently it was Tommy Wright who scored the goal for Blackpool! Never mind philip...we all have those moments! Carlisle United 2, Blackpool 1
  20. Yes but I think we paid something stupid like half a million for them. A lot of money straight down the drain.
  21. Oh...Rover4ever - you spoilt it! Was wondering if anyone was going to be taken in by it. Manager of the week...Alex Mcleish If they are including the Scots league they should have made room for wee Bazza Ferguson.
  22. Nope. From the link... "Meanwhile, two midfielders illuminated the City of Manchester Stadium with stellar displays as Stuart Pearce's City fought out an enthralling stalemate with Mark Hughes' Blackburn. Steven Reid was in inspirational form for Rovers, creating chance after chance in a dynamic display that showed just why he has become such an important player for both Blackburn and the Republic of Ireland, for whom he has 15 caps. " Then it goes on about Kiki Musampa.
  23. 'This is the lowest time of my football career,' he told the Scottish Sun. 'I have never felt more down than this. 'I broke my kneecap and had seven months out when I was at Blackburn but this feels worse. 'We are stuck in a horrible rut and it is getting deeper and deeper.' Ferguson at 'lowest point' as Gers struggle
  24. Yes although he wasn't just a trainee...we bought him and David Mcnamee. Mcnamee is back in Scotland with Livingston and did well enough to be called up to the full Scotland squad last season.
  25. Steven Reid has been selected in the Soccernet Team of the Week. "Steven Reid was in inspirational form for Rovers, creating chance after chance in a dynamic display that showed just why he has become such an important player for both Blackburn and the Republic of Ireland, for whom he has 15 caps. " Team of the Week
