  1. Maybe it's dead in the water, but how as ever. Over the weekend I was chatting to friend from home who is a Forest fanatic, so I asked him for the lowdown on Brereton. Because I'm a sad case and on a break I'll type out his message in full: So now. Take it with a pinch of salt if you must. Lord knows, if someone heard me going on about Bennett they might assume he was the second coming of Graeme Souness with the social conscience of Nelson Mandela. This part, 'Loves to run with the ball, and has the muscle to upset defenders' had me drooling all over my phone though.
  2. Same as. I honestly can't remember seeing any or reading the fury about it on here. However I do recall a couple of occasions where he was rather green and over-eager in possession in defensive areas of the pitch. Giving it away cheaply or attempting to dribble when a pass or clearance would have been more sensible. Not disagreeing with you as such, more augmenting your point. I haven't seen near enough of Palmer or Rothwell to gauge whether or not they'd be more defensively solid than Harry. Admittedly, the signs are there that they aren't.
  3. I wouldn't be unhappy to see Gallagher back here. Sure, he had some howlers, some of them crucial, but I don't think the lad disgraced himself by any means. I know nothing about Brereton, but going off what the fellas above have been saying he sounds like he'd be alright. However, I might get slaughtered for this, but I really liked what I saw of John Marquis last season. Seems like a total warrior and would be able to lead the front line. Whether he'd be good enough for this level who can tell, but yeah. I'd like someone in like that. Can someone tell me when did the classic, bruising, battling British centre-forward become such a rare commodity?
  4. Is Freeman all that then? I've been hoping for Chapman all close season purely because he is one hot prospect. The cameos he made from the bench were almost always exciting at the very least. He still a little green, but man, the potential. I've never seen Freeman play, so I have to confess ignorance on that part. Suppose if TM wants him, that's good enough for me. Oh, as an aside, it would be lovely if our resident ITK folk could maybe lay off the 'oooh it's going down!'-style posts just for the day. Nobody is in the mood for crypticisms, and it reeks of wanton attention seeking on days like this.
  5. Edwards' opener a looping header after poor defending was like the heartbreaking plop of sour milk in your first cup of tea after work on a rainy Monday. Graham's equaliser, pouncing on a loose ball in the danger zone after Ipswich failed to deal with a set piece, was like taste of salty fish 'n' chips after a night on the sauce. Dack tidy finish in the 6 yard box from a lovely William's cross following great hold up play and vision from Big Poppa Danny was like the first crispy fresh taste of lager on a balmy summer Friday. Hope that helps. Chin up in work, mate. You'll be a free man soon!
  6. Someone, I think Wing Wizard Windy Miller or Tyrone Shoelaces, made the exceptionally astute point last season that David Raya is one of these keepers who plays on his nerves. Well that was further evidence of it right there. Mother of jaysus...
  7. That was a nice passage of play there but Bennett's passing, I'm sorry to say, really was horrible. He completely misjudged the weight on a through ball to Williams who had space to exploit if the ball was laid on right for him. I'm a Bennett fan but sometimes his end product is dismal.
  8. Fella, you know people are free to express themselves however they want. It's not a reflection on you. How about giving the imperatives a rest for a while?
  9. Heh. Same here, man. I just knew the winker woud distinguish himself today. Ah...yeah.
  10. Is there legs in the Gallagher rumours, then?
  11. Yeah, have to agree there. I'm actually fairly jealous of those two Ipswich signings. Think they'd both be a good fit for us.
  12. Mid-table in the top flight?
  13. Self-awareness is a beautiful thing! ?
  14. Interview with Ryan Kent from earlier this month: https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/306047-ryan-kent-liverpool-fc-pre-season-interview So is this a case of Mowbray nurturing a talent who has gone somewhat astray as he did with Dack and hopefully Rothwell? (Failed to do with Gladwin?) We'll see. I'm firmly in the 'meh' zone with this. If he does sign up I'd be thriled to see him do well, obviously, but it's hard to get overly excited about him, really.
  15. Wonder what Tammy Abraham is up to next month?
  16. ?? That's glorious! 11 O'Blocker
  17. Can I admit to something? I am TWITCHY as all hell with the way things have been dragging on this summer. I always try to remain somewhat neutral with regards to the factions on here. 'The sky is falling in' crowd often make great points, as do the BIG DOG'S DOUBLEPLUS POSI-GANG*. But the way that ambitions have slipped from 'get it done early' to 'pick up a few loans and see what happens' is really quite worrisome. Does anyone else get the nagging impression that the Vs are taking the mick with Mowbray? Would love to be wrong, but the way the wheels have been grinding of late is not conducive to positive vibes. *Hey man, you're a fellow Mick, so I'm allowed to slag ye, reet?
  18. It did seem like he was playing Under the Sea at times.
  19. I like your thinking. And appreciate that you didn't try to turn a disagreement into a mickey waving contest. In my post about Bauer and Charlton and faffing about. It was more so that if we're going with a 300K offer for a player they obviously rate much higher, then it might indicate that the budget is, well, a little bit 'budget'.
  20. He may think it's worth paying, but my hair would be shocked into growing back if those kind of funds were be available. Look mate, I'm not trying to piss on yer chips; I'd love if we signed him too. Until it's dead in the water, I'll also be holding onto a sliver of hope but I just think that if we had that kinda money to spend, we wouldn't be playing silly buggers with Charlton over their centre-half.
  21. Big yes for me. Maybe not a name to set hearts racing with excitement, but I feel he'd offer a lot. Experience, leadership, grit, an eye goal, and versatility. I'd imagine his wage wouldn't break the bank either.
