He’s explained it at least five times that I’ve read or listened to: contracts will be honoured, ergo no-one on a contract will be forced out. There never was going to be a mass clear-out.

You've misunderstood him 5 times. Mowbray can't force anyone out who's on contract, it isn't his choice to make. What he's actually said is contracted players may leave once he's explained they aren't part of his plans.

Raya and Travis never played so you can’t really say he “inherited” them.

Also I thought keeping hold of Mulgrew, Lenihan and Graham in the window after relegation was a massive success.

Important to remember we had a good squad for League One, and made good signings for a League One club.

If they were already here he didn't buy them, he inherited them.

Yup, not saying all his signings have been great but consider Bell plays every week, as did Reed. Not to mention Samuel, Payne, Antonsson and Downing who played regularly and contributed to our promotion. Davenport looks every bit a player...Gave several u23’s their debut over two seasons (11 in total I think).

Not bad for a guy who blindly sticks with the players he’s inherited, makes all bad signings and apparently never plays them huh?

So back to the signings, of all the ones he's made one is a liability at LB (Bell), one is brilliant (Dack), one he only played because he was desperate (Rothwell) and another who blows hot and cold (AA). They are the only ones that get in the team.

Raya, Mulgrew, Lenihan, Nyambe, Bennett, Evans, Travis, Williams, Graham he inherited. Those are the players he picks the most besides Dack, AA and Bell.

Mogga has spent £10m+ and 2.5 years achieving that.

The transfer market is not his strong point.

Yep, with a pattern on one side

    See the source image

That kind of thing but dark grey instead of the black, and also a yellow pattern like the Stadion Jersey?

If they do it right it could look good - although the pattern down the side could go very wrong.

Give me the yellow kits of the 70's and 80's over anything there's been since.

A singing section sounds good in theory but in practice it could easily become this kind of meaningless entity. A home game needs as many as possible to be involved in the noise and atmosphere creation.

Thar's why singing sections work. The singing starts off there and (in theory) spreads around the rest of the stands. If no-one starts them then no-one else joins in.

Would anyone take Foderingham from Rangers as competition for Raya? He’s been number 2 there since they re-signed McGregor and there fans think very highly of him, I think he’s solid enough, wouldn’t be the worst signing we could make.

Think we were strongly linked with him last summer.

I'd argue that confidence in a goalkeeper probably breeds confidence in a defender, so you could easily argue that a "better" keeper would improve the defence.

Definitely. If Raya could dominate his area our defenders wouldn't look as shit defending corners and set-pieces.  Raya also doesn't look like a great organiser of his defence on corner and set-pieces.

A better keeper would improve the defence and the defenders.

If we had signed Lev Yashin in his prime he would not have improved our defenders last season.

Where have I stated that I am unsure if the keeper is part of a defence. The discussion started over whether changing our keeper would solve our defensive problems. I do not believe it would.

    You've confused yourself.

But that was not the choice. It was between Raya and a different keeper, or an upgrade on center half.

It was a choice between a Raya and a better keeper and whether that would make a difference to our defence if nothing else changed. You answered no. See below. So what you're saying is that Brad Friedel in his prime would make no difference to our defence when clearly he would.

Do you believe if we swapped Raya for someone else (better) but sign no other defenders, that it would improve our defence? Yes or no?

    No
