IF the owners by some miracle have said “right Tony, here’s £20m, go and spend money and get us in the Top 6”

then he’s not going to tell us. He’ll play down his trip no matter what the outcome is. Because otherwise, if clubs catch wind, they’ll be asking for mega fees for their players.

I don’t take most of Mowbray’s media work too seriously, because most of the time he’s saying what he has to say.

He came back last summer openly saying he had been given a 'competitive budget'.

Right... again, didn't post anything in here. Said that five times on this thread and sick of saying it now. Not here for that, and neither is anyone else.

I'm not an 'ITK wannabe' but if you want to see me as that, be my guest.

Eh? I didn't say you did post anything 'in here' so no idea what you're getting strung out about?

The ITK wannabe happens every summer. You saying 'I have it from a reliable source' is classic ITK wannabe. Who's your source? Is it the same pissed bloke on the Fox and Hounds that is everyone's 'source'?

  3. Open and Honest Tony is not doing or saying anything unexpected. Tony's priority is the preservation of Tony.

For the Indian journos he'll talk about 'selling a Dack' because the owners want the club self-sufficient, buying low and selling high.

For the fans back home he'll talk about 'bouncing through the leagues' or 'doing a Norwich' because we all want promotion.

It's all bollocks because he doesn't have the ability but it keeps everyone dreaming of a golden future.

The key issue for the purpose of this article is the utter mismatch between City and Watford in the FA Cup Final. This is what made it a non-contest. The only way to minimise the risk of this is to seed the draws for each round - which will ultimately ruin the magic that makes the FA Cup. (Although sponsorship and gimmicks have already damaged it to an extent).

The utter mismatch in performance was because of the utter mismatch in finances between the two clubs. That is what made it a non-contest. Financial doping by City allowed them to have subs that cost more than the entire Watford team.

If Watford ever become a oil-rich state-owned franchise like City then they may be able to afford the best manager in the world and a team costing hundreds of millions.

    Nothing strange at all.

You are treating this as a message board joshing game.

Without any comprehension of what fellow fans and others went through.

Steady on there guilt-trip boy. @MCMC1875 put it on the board. He made serious allegations. I simply asked if there's been a police enquiry. He's now deleted all his posts. It's quite strange. Maybe he was pissed?

Anyway, I've offered to delete all my posts if he doesn't want what he posted to stay on the board. That's for him to answer. You can wind your neck in.

    Very odd indeed.

My interpretation is that Mowbray is playing everything safe pending the outcome of his Pune meetings. If he doesn't know what (if any) money he'll have to spend then he might regret it if he gets shut of Leutwiler, Conway etc. now. So safer to activate extensions and enter into talks just in case.

I thought the same. @Paul Mani (iirc) was adamant, however, that there would be no delays to transfers caused by Mogga having to go to India to beg for money.

I can assure you that there were death threats, I was the targeted when I was digging and revealing some of what was being found.  I once got a note saying that if I did not stop poking my nose in that they would warm things up with a little fire, this was a note posted through my door.  I reported it to the police and they took it seriously.

I know that Glen and others had much worse.

The other route that they took was the almost weekly legal threats from IPS Law, which to begin with were worrying but once we established our legal rights they became more amusing annoyance.

Things now are much different, not to say that everything is perfect but the focus does seem to be more on the playing side rather than previously when off the field what was going on overshadowed everything on the field.  I can never trust Venky's because my default position with them is that there is always the threat of them listening and acting upon that one piece of bad advice from the someone whose only motivation is to make a quick buck which will throw all of the good work out of the window and plunge the club back into a downwards spiral.

Cheers. That's all I asked. What happened with the police enquiry? Do you think it was the Rao's behind the threats or the Barnet ballbag?

I'm amazed this didn't get into the public domain (even just the LT). It's manna from heaven for a protest movement to have the people they are protesting about threatening to burn their house down (If that's what they meant).
