You have lost me and I don't feel like continuing on the detour.
Some of us have better things to be doing
At the moment you're doing more backtracking than a shit sniffer-dog. Hopefully you do have better things to do. ?

If I was a player, I would be looking at the last 5 seasons, not the last 30. Unfortunately for us, Preston are a more attractive option at the moment. I think we are catching them and will pass them soon, but ya a sign of how far we fell under our great leaders in Pune
Someone's telling porkies, 'bud'.

As I wasn't privy to the discussions I cannot say.
Can't say what? We had a bid rejected 12 months ago. Fact. Ergo we've been chasing him for 12 months.

I don't think you can discuss with players or their agents outside the windows. I maybe wrong, bizarrely, I am not certain.
….and that would have been happening 12 months ago when we were 1st in for him.

The fact is you are only chasing players when the transfer windows are open.
There was a transfer window 12 months ago we couldn't get him in. And I'm pretty sure you can have discussions with clubs outside of transfer windows. It's truly bizarre you don't know that.

It is what it is, he drew more attention on himself after scoring the goal in the play off final, so had more options. He chose Preston. Very possibly the incorrect choice.
Yeah, until Alex Neill saw him scoring a goal on the telly he'd never heard of him
And yesterday you were saying PNE were a more attractive option so in your mind it must surely be the correct decision.
Not even Houdini could get out of the knots you've tied yourself up in, and not because he's dead.

It's only embarrassing if he turns out to be a good player. Lets wait and see.
And if he doesn't it's embarrassing we've been chasing him for over 12 months.

As Sharpe said, looks like Preston guaranteed him a starting place and Rovers couldn’t give him that, let’s hope we have someone else lined up who’s better.
They are getting their excuses in early. Most of moggas signings have started their career at Rovers on the bench, even the expensive ones. He's either lied to them all or they were happy to fight for their place, like most footballers.
That's Mowbray's 2nd knock back of the summer and we're not even in July. This is turning into a repeat of last summer when he ended up panic buying because he couldn't secure his 1st choice targets.
Mowbray obviously can't sell the club as an attractive place to come and play.
Beaten to the punch by PNE. FFS!

We could easily have just moved onto other players.
Secretly I’m glad - I’ve watched him a few times trying to look positively for reasons why we’ve been so keen, and I was reaching tbh.
Bookmark this - he’ll go on to be immense and in the team of the season and the message board goes full reactor 4.
I think PNE's manager has a fairly decent success rate when it comes to transfers, on a smaller budget than Mowbray.

Kee and McConville on their way out of Stanley.
Will need some masterful recruitment to keep them in League 1 now.
Where's that from?
Big increase in the playing budget for AS this season. Still 2nd lowest in the league though.

I prefer Phil McCracken.

Lot of fuss over someone who didn't stand out in the third division whenever I saw him.
If he's a defender and Mowbray wants him he probably isn't very good.

I here Hanley is returning to Rovers , don't get much info now but see what happens ..
No really, there was talk he was staying after Charlton got promoted. He's only just officially announced he's leaving.

Bauer has confirmed on twitter he's leaving Charlton.
Decisions, decisions....

That's the one! Top man, cheers. My niece has been battering my head asking what it was ever since she went to her 1st Rovers match earlier this season. She hasn't been back since mind ? but at least we have a 'banger' (horrendous phrase) to listen to instead.

A brief interlude - right you young hep gunslingers, whats that choon they play at Rovers on match days ? Something with 'place' in the lyrics maybe, female vocalist, bit of a toe-tapper with one of those disco beats? Genuine question. Cheers.

No but we should be in my opinion. On a free, plenty of other Championship clubs looking at him.
Has the Drogba about him.
He might wear baseball caps and all that other modern stuff those young 'uns wear. Tony won't be keen.

He revitalised the club and laid the foundations for Dalglish. Probably my favourite ever time watching Rovers. Loved the holy trinity of Garner, Gayle and Kennedy, and the Archibald team played some cracking football, far better than anything we watch at the moment.

Can play CM, or anywhere across the front three. Big powerful runner - got 19 goals last season. Hull and Wigan interested apparently.
Certainly looks a big powerful unit with quite a bit of skill. Have we actually been linked with him?

New Name: Chuks Aneke Free from MK Dons
Host of Championship teams want him.
Sensational goalscoring box to box midfielder. Believe we played him last year, and he was good if I remember rightly.
He's a striker iirc, big target man who started at Arsenal.

He said that about Armstrong last summer.
In fact the A,B & C list chat sounds scarily familiar.
Expect a panic buy some time in early August.

Summer Transfer Window 2019
in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Posted
Mowbray said the opposite. He said he had got the numbers in last summer (filled the squad) and that this summer it was about targeting 3 or 4 experienced players to go straight in the 1st team.
