I've seen the 'can't do any worse than X' argument countless times over the years. I've also seen plenty of players then come in and indeed do worse. Hilton would almost certainly highlight this.

You can't lose 6 points for one loss. Leo is averaging 3 a game at the moment. So I would still argue he can't do any worse.

  2. Hilton can't do any worse than Wahlstedt, he can do the same but no worse. Leo needs to be dropped end of story. You can't produce those type of performances weekly and cost your club game after game with zero ramifications. Once or twice and you stick with him, now it's bordering the ridiculous. Throw anyone else in, he won't, but I would 100% back it if he did.

The majority of people complaining are well aware of the shambolic running of the club and budget/injury situation.

But putting that aside surely the JdT fan boys can see why he is getting justified grief from fans at this point?

That wasn’t far off our best first 11 yesterday and was a total shambles losing to relegation favourites. The home form is abysmal and has seen us lose 7 already. If the away form now starts to drop we are in massive trouble.

The Huddersfield manager said we ‘play high risk high reward football’ after the game. It’s an incredibly naive approach in the championship and we are rightly getting licked now managers have worked it out.

He needs a plan B and to improve his game management. Surely we can agree on that?

The truth hurts alot of people

I found myself at one point in the Watford game thinking “ If football was like this back when I first started watching as a child would I have got involved in the game ?  “.

This was after several passages of walking football , just passing it around aimlessly in our own half before we eventually lost the ball.

Some people would have you believe that's down to the owners ...simple not true and I hate them as much as most others. All on the manager.

I must admit whilst we are sometimes easy on the eye a lot of what you said is spot on. The issue is if you dare question anything tactically (even as someone who fully backs JDT) people - especially on Twitter - will latch on and defend him as if their life depends on it.

My main criticisms lie in the lack of adaptability and the performances in 'big' games. Bullied in every local game, let down in front of decent home or away crowds. A lot of it is our thin, young squad, but there has to be some accountability from the coaching staff too.

I think that's what is making me most miserable. Yes, we have no hope with these owners. But we can't even comment on any tactical shortcomings as it isn't JDTs fault. What are we all doing on here talking about the games then? It all feels pointless doesn't it? Coming as close as to packing it in as I have in years, I just don't have the love for it anymore.

That being said, I do like JDT and certainly don't think we can attract better. A part of me wishes he would walk and firmly shine a light on those idiots in Pune. It would certainly rip the plaster off anyway as it's going to happen soon enough. But then again nothing will happen. We will appoint some no hoper undoubtedly this time (no chance they get two appointments right consecutively) and the cycle will start all over again.

Seems those who make up their mind on a player or manager struggle to accept it admit it when issues arise. You need to massage their fragile egos a bit to try get the concerns across. The mantra is "JDT is doing a great job" and that's the end of it. We know the owners are shit, we know the budget is shit and he got shafted with that. I don't think we have to convince ourselves we are lucky to have this manager because we fear what comes next. Every person at the club should have their performance critiqued. Tomasson is a decent coach but he is way too stubborn and NAIVE so we continue to plod along.

To summarise, we need better owners and a better manager. You don't have to be in one camp or the other.

All you so called football fans, who are calling JDT. Need to look in the mirror, the best football we have played for years with a young weak squad. If he leaves we will be shopping round for journey managers ,reverting back to route one. The blame stands firmly with the owners who are not backing him.

Is he taking calls? Got his number? I'd love a word...

With the players on the bench today, how would you have changed things, and why would that have made a difference? As frustrated as I am I find it hard to look past a bare bones, exhausted squad.

For the record I didn't mean literally making changes as in substitutions but that is part of the problem. I meant making changes to the tactics or system mid game. I often think during our games after 20 mins or so "there right back is slow, should get at him more" or "there keeper is dodgy, fling a few crosses in or take a few shots and test him" then I just watch minute after minute of Hyam and Carter pass it back and forth and slow ponderous build up play to little affect.

Go 1-0 down and I think ok let's change it up a bit...nope. Rinse and repeat. He doesn't seem to have any ability to change a game, like zero.

Another one for people to try and defend but I don't buy this "players are exhausted" stuff either, it's December not February or March. The only player I see run himself into the ground is Sammie Szmodics. The rest are in cruise control playing tippy tappy stuff and not tracking runners or scrapping tooth and nail.

‘Manager’s not up to it’. It’s a bad run of form. We were flying a month ago, that’s the Championship when you have such a small and inexperienced squad.

What else is going to happen them these dips with this bunch of players. The solution is to get shut of these disgraceful owners, that ain’t going to happen so we just have to lump these dips.

Quoting me clearly. He's not up to it. When the going gets tough, we fold. Clear to see. He cannot change a game, doesn't have the nous, look at our record when we go behind. Horrendous.

  9. Our manager is not up to it, doing a brilliant job?? Yeah right, we are as fragile as it gets even when we win. He picks a team and hopes for the best and wishes the opposition allow us to play. He can't change a game, sets us up to get hammered time and time again, offers little to no explanation after no show performances and takes zero responsibility. Wake up and stop living in denial. Yes there is bigger problems at Ewood but I have had my fill of this manager and his "philosophy".

At what point do you replace a keeper who is making howler after howler game in and game out, throw in our 3rd choice and show some balls. Wahlstedt needs to be taken out regardless of Pears injury.

The way the team is set up isn't workin, that's on the manager, more fight in players with far lesser ability than our lads. Stop making excuses for the players and manager, Huddersfield did not have a better starting 11 than us today. We are softer than baby shit. Embarrassing.

Leonard is young and raw, but jeez did you see the 45 from Ennis? We’ve been crying out for a number 9 for years. I’ve seen better ball control in the national league north

What I am saying is actually in defence of Leonard, it's not his fault he is featuring as much, would do well on loan lower down the league and could be the making of him. Haven't given up on him yet. I was one of those judging Ennis before he kicked a ball, I was right, he was never going to be good enough at this level and was happy to put my neck on the line with that even though it seems to massively offend people when you don't back every signing to the hilt and then only praise them once they are here.

  11. I like Leonard and he seems like he has a future but it's ok to say he isn't up to it right now, that's not his fault as we are forced to fill a squad. Why do people take such issue with people criticising players though? If you are from the academy or a record signing, shouldnt your performance just be assessed on how to perform? I just imagine them all nameless and faceless and judge them all on how they play over a period of time.

  12. Imagine thinking people unhappy with error after error from a professional keeper that has cost us roughly 8-10 goals as a result of doing basic things regardless of age is somehow a negative thing. People think it's nobel to act like they are the some kind of good person to point the blame elsewhere. Give your head a wobble, our keeper is a dud, there is no grey area with this one. I have zero faith in him. We are talking about a keeper that has cost us two goals today in a 2-1 defeat. He's conceded soft goal after soft goal, he's also got away with other errors that didn't result in goals. Useless.

Being saying it for ages, we need 2 or 3 real scumbags in our team who can look after our 'kids' and kick the feck out of the opposition if need be.

Feck the purists and the dreamers (get off fantasy island and wake up and smell the coffee), you also need physicality and aggression to go with the skill, to get out of this league.

A feckin sickener today.  Rovers are like one big tease where the big moment never arrives.

Couldn't agree more. Think the tough and physical lads are dying out of the game and the ones that are left are probably out of our budget, used to be the luxury ones now it's the enforcers who are the rare commodity.
