  1. This rings a bell with me, Paul Bearer, wow, didn't notice that was a play of words! Yo! , was known prior as "Percy Pringle" as DarrenMike says and that I remember that some http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Bearer , real name, William Moody http://www.percypringle.com/ Percy Pringle website. Check the picture galleries for a lot of wrestling. Blogged a whole lot, over a thousand entries at least.: http://percysposts.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html I read one blog entry and he says he even got to weighing more than 500 pounds.
  2. I'm sorry for the loss of Paul Bearer. Haven't kept up with wrestling for years. Just my humble opinion, but I think when the Big Federation merged the smaller ones into it, MidSouth, to me, it hurt the spectacle. The MidSouth Wrestling Federation didn't have all of these negatives or as many. Lex Luger was from the MidSouth Wrestling Federation but he got in trouble for possession and I think was investigated over abuse of Macho Man's Miss Elizabeth, who sadly has passed on too. MIdSouth (Or whatever it was called, American) Wrestling Federation had Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart, he was kind of funny and in the music business before: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Hart , he was a manager in wrestling, His musical group was the Gentrys who I think I'd heard of.
  3. 3 weeks ago, Jack Swagger got popped for marijuana, driving under the influence, maybe other charges like speeding. Swagger in red, his manager, Zeb Colter.... read about this in the news, though I don't tune it in too much, I thought they looked kind of humourous. Some wrestlers, sad a number have passed on but a number of them aren't bad for entertainment, I liked Brett the Hitman Hart, Jake the Snake was pretty cool too. I use to not know much about Bruce Lee, just who he was. But now, if one sees a picture of a young Ricky Steamboat, to me they kind of look similar. http://www.profightdb.com/img/wrestlers/thumbs-600/13ad4b61eerickysteamboat.jpg I watched some movie on Bruce Lee the other day and have read a few articles on him. Bruce Lee was the man. I think wrestling wasn't too bad, though still staged in the old days before the merger. Rick Flair, that old wrestling federation coming out of the South really wasn't too bad. I know I've seen people use Rick Flair's picture for their avatar. But just my opinion. I've heard people say Steroids aren't too bad for you, if you know what you are doing. I'm not going to judge that angle because I haven't or won't do them, don't know if they are natural ever in food like meat though. What I do think is these guys have used too much and may be using steroids and pain killers... maybe some recreational drugs too. A lethal combination, heck, even pain killers can be addicted, I'm told to even watch out how much ibuprofen one uses or to not use it at all.
  4. Alexander's Ragtime Band - Irving Berlin ODB: Thanks for the tip! I am certainly corrected.
  5. "One more red nightmare" - King Crimson (eh, I feel like the misquoted Paperlace song earlier was a set up)
  6. "We don't need another hero" - Tina Tuner (Paperlace? "Night Chicago died" may have been their hit, Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods probably doing "Billy Don't Be a Hero"
  7. Let the Little Girl Dance - Billy Bland ( http://www.heebiejeebies.nl/resultnl.php?zop=aflevering&zoektekst=369 Looks like the Dutch talking about these Classics) (have to say, the talk on Bill Haley and the Comets was interesting, that old rock and roll movie with them and others with the dancing was pretty amazing over at youtube.)
  8. Go away little girl - Steve Lawrence (Marc Wynter, '62 version in the UK http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go_Away_Little_Girl )
  9. A whole new world - Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle (Thanks Hanks! I did happen to get the newsfeed on that story, rest in peace Alvin Lee)
