He did but the ball was over the goal line when he did. VAR overruled him as no offence was seen. The restart should have been a corner.
not when he saw the challange the ball was being challanged for then it went off the pitch it took him a second to blow his whistle thats why the ball went off the pitch

But there was no offence committed so as the ball was out of play a corner should have been the restart.
in the opinion of the refferee he gave an offence thats why he blew his whistle

An unconteted drop ball is the only fair way as you would be punishing the defending side for a fair tackle ,also if a penalty was awarded and it was over ruled for a dive a contested drop ball would reward the diver.

But the ball begin out of play overrides that as no offence has been committed. The referee didn't stop the game when the ball was in play, the ball was out of play so a corner was the correct restart.
play stops at the point of the offence not where the ball stops so technically the ball is in play at the time of contact .

Reed and Arma swapped wings constantly throughout, never gave Hull fullbacks a chance. Absolutely superb tactics from TM today.
also whenever we had the ball they were hugging the touchlines stretching their back 4, must have been watching them training and seen somthing of a weakness in them.

Yes and I've said this before Gestede would be a good option on loan to begin with , i wouldnt start with him but certainly have him as an option off the bench as he can be effective for us in both penalty boxes , and while we don't have Marshall and Conway on the pitch like last time he was here , set pieces from Mulgrew would certainly have a new dimension with him in the team
Not sure he would swap middlesbrough bench for ours, what about stewart downing aparantly they cant play him or the have to give him a new contract

Would need to give this a bit more thought, but some early contenders from recent years are
Best:
Bellamy against Middlesbrough, King against Stoke, Samba in a 1-1 draw at City.
Worst, Pascal Chimbonda in the 7-1 against Man United. Directly responsible for four goals in one game. The only time I ever remember thinking that I could genuinely do less harm to the team if I was plying instead of a professional footballer.
what about Herold Goulon in the utd game

It would’ve been a draw - we scored in the 89th
I thought this was about us conceding late goals ?

Assuming Leeds hadn't conceded any in the last 15 minutes of course!
no because if we had held out we would have beat leeds so they would have had 3 points less

Just saw a stat that said of Rovers 41 goals conceded in league matches this year, 20 have occurred in the last 15 minutes ( or stoppage time) of matches. These resulted in 14 points dropped through today’s match v Ipswich.
Just think: those 14 points on our tally would have us tied for first w /Leeds ( second on goal difference).
I hope we see no more goals allowed in the last 15 minutes of any of our matches for the rest of this year. That just might eke us into playoff spots.
If we had held on in all those games we would be ahead of leeds, I think we are about where i thought we would be this season top 10 finish unless we add to the squad in Jan and we keep fairly injury free.

Can anyone confirm is there a replacement for a fourth official or do they get any random bugger?
They get a qualified ref from the crowd that chap had done it before apparently

Bielsa has admitted sending a 'spy' to watch Derby's training session before their game tonight. Lampard says they did tactics, shape, set plays and positional sessions which were with tonight's game in mind. He said Harry Wilson was missing the session which will probably effect how Leeds set up and play.
I hope they throw the book at Leeds as Bielsa has admitted they have done it before. However everyone knows the EFL and FA are as weak as p*** when it comes to something like this.
I would be checking the dressing room for microphones as well would not put that past them

I don't know why their keeper wasn't red carded too.
I cant believe that you get booked for a player hitting you in the face with the ball looked a good penalty shout to me.

As per usual some absolute bobbins talked on here, posters talking about similarities to the kean era, Coyle era, and us plummeting to league 1? WTF are you watching?
The biggest problem we have is 90% of the site wanted Mowbray sacked in Oct 17, this before we went on to secure promotion at a canter, it's about saving face for many,
'I was right all along''
Load of crap chaps.....
Then we have the chief protagonists who actually never go to games, yet dictate the bile spewed at a side they only ever see on a Pc monitor or smart phone, how can that form honest debate or opinion?
So let's have it right, we've been poor of late, results need to improve, but my god we're in a place we could only have dreamed of a few years back. Players have new contracts, the manager has built a structure, has his own people in place, when did we last have that luxury in place?
Time to get a grip, show some backbone, and back the best manager since these idiots came our way.
Consolidation this season, push on next.
Onwards and upwards.
Happy New Year.
total agree time for a reality check of the last 9 promoted teams only 1 is above us, we have had a bad run of fixtures against the top teams it seems the modern way to sack the manager at the first dip in form I dont see Man city crying out for their manager to go after losing 3 .

I can't help but think Atkins would have gotten the same treatment as Evans and Smallwood do now in 94/95. Discuss
I think he would have got slaughtered on here but what you have to remember is its a team game and its how players play together not what they do individualy, and dont forget super ako has more premiership medals than quite afew better players than him ie: steven gerrard
