  1. Hello! Due to the IT revolution I've had to create a new identity for myself. My previous user name was John Leigh - creative uh? We've been living in Brisbane for eight years now and have been slowly building a network of Aussie Rovers fans. My local team is another BRFC - Brisbane Roar - current A League Champions AND Premiers. I still play and coach kids football over here and spread the Rovers name where ever possible. My 12 year old son is as Rovers daft as me! I was raised in Oswaldtwistle and followed the family tradition of Roverism. I've had a season ticket ever since the Gordon Lee 1975 promotion season up to my emigration. I've been to approx 80 grounds watching Rovers, including Europe. I was also a regular at Brockhall watching Saturday morning youth games. I was previously a member of the Fans Forum and attended Jack Walkers memorial service in Blackburn Cathedral as a representative of the forum. Along with my son we most recently saw BRFC live in Sydney where we spent good times with Rovers bretheren. All Rovers games are shown live here in Aus which means some very late nights but great coverage. The Rovers of today are not my Rovers. Gone are the days of Bill Fox et al where no matter what happened all we wanted was for the club to be the best it can be. What we have in place now is a doppleganger. I don't know what we can do to get our Rovers back but I'm willing to help in any way. I'm active on Twitter - @BrisRover - and I'm looking to get some representation for all Rovers fans living outside the UK on #roverseas I lurk more than post as I'm not really ITK being so remote, but I still hold strong opinions and they are just as valid even if I'm not at Ewood expected every game! My plaque is on the pavement just outside Blues Bar when I can't be there...

  4. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-12236977 Article gives an update on how Colin is moving along with things. I for one wish him all the best. Off the field he is a great guy and always a true gent whenever I met him. On the field truly deserving of legend status for Rovers IMO
  5. Franny Jeffers now playing for Newcastle Jets in the Australian A League - and doing quite well for them.

  8. John Curtis, playing at right back for Gold Coast United in the A League, scored a left foot screamer from the edge of the box on Weds night.
  9. You weren't born in the Roughlee Hospital in Accy were you? - 'cause I was born there just a day before you!

  10. How about David May & Henning Berg? Also from that era I think Patrick Andersen did quite well after leaving us... But your right mate - you do have to go back a few years
  11. Still got that Manchester weather? Was pretty bright there on Saturday from where I was watching!!

  12. I think it would be fair to say that you probably need to be as good as John Curtis to play in the Australian A League... So if your cv is anywhere near as good as his then why not give it a go!!
  13. Not that easy for me to get into the club shop these days... last time I looked on the club shop website it was pretty poor I'll ask my dad & sis to keep a look out in the club shop next time they are at Ewood

  18. Such sad sad news to hear about the untimely passing of a fellow Rovers fan, a Rovers Brother. Your Rovers Brothers around the world are shedding a tear for you John, even though we've never met you. You are one of the family, the Rovers Family, a family that wins together, loses together laughs and cries together. Rovers are my heritage and I view this as a sad day in the history of the club that I, like you, were born to love. Let's hope that this is the catalyst for change and that something good might come out of this tragedy. I'm touched by the condolences offered to the Taylor family from supporters of clubs both near and far, and hope that this brings some small piece of comfort. Rest in piece John, though we've never met I'm sure the world will be a poorer place now that there is one less Rovers Brother. My best wishes go out to you and yours on this sad sad day. John Leigh - Brisbane , Australia.
