  1. Genuine question.

Our records on 'giving players another year' or 'not giving players another year' in the 30+ bracket.

Andi Weimann and Danny Batth - to be determined, but doesn't look good at this stage.

Adam Forshaw - to be determined

Kyle McFadzean - should have just been a 1/2 season signing.

Daniel Ayala - 25 games for Rovers in 22/23, wasn't retained, went to Rotherham United (relegated - 7 apps for The Millers)

Stuart Downing - a season too far, should have just been the one year, 2 starts and 16 sub appearances in 2020/21, though COVID had a huge impact.

  2. Burnleys fixture release gives us some clues as to Rovers fixtures.

Usually when Burnley are at home, Rovers are away and vice versa for policing purposes.

    Therefore using this logic

Home - Weekend of November 8th (closest to 5th November) for 150th Anniversary, New Years Fixture, Last game of the season

Away - First game of the season, Boxing Day,

  3. A farewell to Goodison Park, the first away ground I ever did, Everton 0-0 Rovers (26/9/98) a ground full of history no doubt, but an awful fan experience as witnessed on my last visit to L4 for Everton 2-3 Rovers (Paul Ince’s first game in charge - 16/8/08) as we were on the back row of the lower tier and could barely see the pitch!

Hope Rovers get an away day at Bramley Moore Dock soon!

    3rd - 40%

    4th - 20%

    5th - 27%

The common misconception of sneak into 6th and then go up in the Playoffs, hasn't happened since Blackpool in 2010!

  5. Was taken by my dad to a game when I was 4, no memory. A 0-0 draw against Plymouth I believe.

The first I have real memory of, what I’d call “my first game” was the Playoff Final at Wembley against Leicester aged 5. Memories of the day are hazy, but I remember the train ride down and the colours/sights/sounds/smells. The old Wembley being a pretty cool place to start.

  6. 2 hours ago, Blow-in said:

Insane to think Italian football was so far ahead of other leagues we had not even signed Sutton for 5m at that stage so British transfer record was 3.75 for Keane at that stage?

Even so that money was insane for Lentini, he was never even close to the best player in the world. I wonder was there shady dealings going on?

Paul Gascoigne from Spurs to Lazio for £5.5m the British record (at least involving a British club). I have no memory of Lentini 🤣

  7. Lets say Tyrhys and his agent go to the club and say

"I want the money that Emmanuel Dennis is on (reported 20k a week) and a five year contract, with a Premier League release clause" circa £1m a year or £5.2m over the deal.

Do you commit to him being your 'top man/top earner' til 2030?

I don't know what I'd do to be honest, probably err on the side of caution and say no, but would love to hear the consensus.

  8. Spotify threw out this song this morning, some appropriate lyrics

"If that's your best, your best won't do"

Being serious, what a sorry evening it was on Friday. Anger and frustration visible, yet it was the apathy of the majority which told its own story, this Rovers team (from top to bottom) has become easy to dislike. There seems to be some momentum towards change at some level, I just fear it won't be as sweeping and clinical as it should/needs to be.
