So basically we re at a flatline with Rovers fans . Wont go up much wont go down..without ridiculously cheap prices via season tickets or one off ticket games  which the club cant sustain.

    Rock n a hard place.

ill say what ive always said ..you need to to get the kids.

    Don’t disagree Howie .

problem is this sentiment has been ingrained in people for a long time now . The constant bullshit, false promises , ludicrous statements from various people at the club , owners who can’t be arsed to attend etc etc season by season just get under the skin of fans and it has become a culture of increasing disenchantment for many regulars over the last few years .
Price obviously helps but in my opinion it matters less and less because folk have simply lost interest and are losing the sense of belonging to the Club .
I can feel it happening to me after decades of following my team all over the country so I can fully appreciate others feeling the same .
Those in charge don’t get it because they don’t have any longevity with the club - Johnny come latelys . But the soul of the club is dying a slow death and it’s painful to watch it happening .

Nothing wrong with that statement - if we were looking to bring in a keeper, a defender or defensive mid. Pity we got nothing though! (And my word I hope that is what TM meant, otherwise you really start to worry.)

“ but we chose 2 non scoring strikers as a different option as that’s what we were looking for at the time “

another classic from the Mowbray library of unfathomable and completely bizarre comments . Just one place below “ we had too much possession “.

    Motor mouth .

What a great result. I would almost say ruthless.

Armstrong is better and more important than Dack now. Anyone disagree?

Have we a quality defence now? Stats and clean sheets would suggest we do.

How good is Lenigoal these days? Hard to see him here next season.

Well I think if we'd have had Dack last night he would have buried a number of Danny Graham knock downs especially first half.

My personal mood until the 70th minute was a bit meh in all honesty thinking that a against a good side we might well have struggled quite badly. Funny how 3 quick fire goals had me thinking that there were some decent individual performances that I might not have thought was the case until we scored. Goals change games as they say!

A look at our forthcoming fixture list which is pretty tough still leaves me thinking that we will come up quite well short in the final analysis as we simply cant withstand the loss of so many of our key players. 3 points off the play offs at least for 24 hours  makes me think how very regrettable our January transfer activity was and how we will be looking back in May with a ''what might have been''. Quite what Venkys will think looking back is anybody's guess ….. assuming they even think at all.

Fulham deserved to win as they controlled the game for large parts without really creating too many chances. We ended the game with players all over the shop in what looked like disorganised chaos. Interestingly when we had all the strikers on Fulham went to a back five and Parker looked worried. Perhaps if we had been more adventurous from the start we might have got something. I don't think anybody played particularly well and a couple aside nobody was particularly bad. I felt sorry for JRC as he looked uncomfortable in the role he was given. Gallagher once again looked like an expensive flop.

As the end of the season gets closer the real worries for me start with loan players going back and out of contract players who will need replacing. Using the awful January window as the yardstick I can't see us really improving the squad with new players. I would like to see some of the youngsters given game time as we paddle along in mid table.

Problem is Arbitro our 2 star youngsters are JRC and Buckley based in U23 performances and both look some way short . However they probably will continue to be so unless we given them a run of games and that will require a fair bit of patience and understanding from us lot . That’s why the manager has to be ready to wear his tin hat in respect of our abysmal January window .The excuses for not doing any business just astound me tbh. Clowns , the lot of them .

    https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/inside-blackburn-rovers-finances-what-17494957

This article pretty much lays bare our financial issues. With FFP looming large I can't see anymore big spending either on transfer fees or wages. It mentions 154% of income spent on wages alone now.

In my view the only way out of this mess is bringing the kids through and selling them on.

The thing is Arbitro , if they came out and said this is our true position, the real state of our finances etc etc  and that our immediate future will be to bring our kids through (and possibly have to sell the best ones on) then at least we'd all understand it and manage our expectations accordingly. In other words... the realities of where we are now .

But no, we keep getting fed one load of bullsh1t after another, patronised by Waggott , intelligence insulted by Mowbray, fans to blame for this that and the other. We pretend we are serious as a Club about trying to get to the play offs and then start going for unrealistic loan targets who we could not possibly afford and then say ''its the market'' shrug , shrug. I mean Atsu on £50k a week , really???? Not a chance.

Unless we discover the Class of 92 very quickly then we will do well to stay in this league never mind go up. That's not to be critical of our kids in any way at all. Its the harsh reality that we all know but which keeps being constantly denied by the morons in charge.

If the Club came out and informed us properly of the true position then most of us would accept it and most would buy into it and rally round our youngsters. The fact they don't is what really infuriates and what ultimately causes fans to switch off and turn their backs. Which bit of this don't these clowns understand????

We'll have to wait and see. We have been talking about extending into Europe ever since we got promoted from League 1 so the fact something is only just happening now isn't the best sign but we'll have to see if things improve in that respect.

Thing is Rev it could be that this boat has already sailed for us as far as European recruitment is concerned.

I was reading an article on Brexit and in relation to how it might impact on Football & Football Clubs. The suggestion was , (admittedly still to be decided) that under 18 players couldn't come but more significantly that bringing players into the UK from Europe will be exactly as it is now with rest of the world. In other words unless you are a current /recent /recognised international you wont get a work permit.

Now far be it from me but with our transfer kitty looking fairly modest, if indeed anything at all to spend , then we wont be in for many recognised internationals.

So it seems to me that in typical Rovers style , we have once again been far too slow off the blocks and ultimately this appointment might actually look rather stupid from a timing viewpoint.

My interpretation of an article I read , so maybe i'm wrong but it seemed reasonably clear that this would be the case.

I think it would be interesting to know  how they came across this guy , why particularly did they think he was the ‘outstanding candidate’ given that he doesn’t have a cv as a scout .Was there a list of applicants or was he singled out and approached ?

Actually , forget it . I can’t be arsed with any of it any more

Even if the question is asked I doubt it will get a sensible answer.

If you look back at previous Consultation Meetings they tend to time positive announcements so they are made at the meeting or just before. I think the one I went to was when they announced Bennett had signed a new contract and the last one Waggott announced his new 'senior management' team which was exactly the same as before.

So I suspect this earth shattering big news of a scout arriving will be the news for this meeting as something to settle supporters down and stave off any unrest until after the summer.

It doesn't take 6 months to do and it doesn't need a scout like this to sign a player from abroad. Expecting to come up with a Brentford style recruitment is pie in the sky stuff.

I think it would be interesting to know  how they came across this guy , why particularly did they think he was the ‘outstanding candidate’ given that he doesn’t have a cv as a scout .Was there a list of applicants or was he singled out and approached ?

Yup well done , proves my point brilliantly

Bbrovers2288- don’t be put off by a couple of voices . It’s what happens on forums of this nature especially when folk are exasperated at what’s going on and fuelled by idiotic comments from Mowbray .

i welcome your insight as I’m sure do many others .

    Unwilling to spend

Agree with that Paul but for somebody with their business scale and reach you would expect that they would want to ensure it is spent in the right areas rather than squandered recklessly by morons that they have entrusted to spend it .
That’s the bit none of us can even begin to understand. And that catalogue of morons is a very lengthy list and way beyond simply being unlucky or being badly advised .

Rothwell going off at HT was definitely a turning point. He was sensational in the first half. Hope it was precautionary and his injury isn't too serious. Would be a shame for him to have a spell on the sidelines after finally getting going tonight.

Word after was it’s a hamstring and could be 3 weeks

Without wanting to be negative about this ( I think it is a positive step) it does raise further questions. Why have we left it to now to appoint this person? How long will it take for him to arrive and get to work on targets? Why didn't we appoint him this time last year?

It appears to me that it is just more stalling and diversionary tactics. Keep the fans off our backs for a few more months because before long we'll have all these great European players coming in.

The thing is JHR we are under threat of FFP if not perilously close to it so stands to reason that we will have little or no funds to spend . Ergo , it’s either a waste of time window dressing or we will be trawling the Albanian 3rd division looking for a hidden jewel !!!

There is just no structure or method to what we are doing , zero clarity on what positions we want to fill , what system we are trying to play etc etc . We are a joke .

“we don’t want to throw money around hoping we get one out of 4 or 5 right”” ???!!
Hello you Baffoon, that’s exactly what you have done .... and worse than that, you extended their contracts when everyone could see they weren’t up to it .

TM is just a babbling idiot and his claptrap just winds me up . I’ve lost all sense of what we are trying to do or quite where all this will end up .We are run by idiots .

Far too much negativaty on here. Armstrong and Nyambe are on fire and would get in any team in the league. Holtby and Downing are 2 of the most experienced and classy players in the league.

Tosin a potential future man city captain and you have the recipe for success .

    Blackburn are serious playoff contenders.

Lucky to see  3 of them on the park at the same time ! Despite your argument we are without a left back , our selections for the wide positions are stuck in the tombola and we don’t have a genuine goal scorer . Please don’t tell me Armstrong will lead the line and get the 20 goals an aspiring top six side needs from its striker . He’s had 3 or 4 decent games and grabbed a couple of goals recently ( out with penalties). One mad result at Sheffield Weds is clouding a few judgements all of a sudden .
Mathematically , of course we have a chance - as do about 12 other teams . But this manager will self implode if he has to deal with the pressure of that come the business end .

Just like our transfer window dealings and overall transfer policy since he arrived , it’s far easier to make out we tried but just fell short .

We will be a fair way off the top 6 when the final league table is concluded- in my opinion .

Doubt it will be anywhere near £100k for this trip. I've just looked on the hotel website and 4 nights next week is £395 for a twin room.

Flights with Easyjet to Faro out of school holiday season on a block booking- probably £100-150 each return. Maybe 35 or so on the trip including backroom staff lets say 40.

Block booking at the hotel probably cheaper than single rooms too.

Be surprised if it cost much more than £15-20k.

Still a nice reward for getting knocked out if the cup
