  1. I don't. It's the usual dirge. At no point does he say "I'm not interested in managing Blackburn Rovers". What he says short of the above is completey irrelevant. If the board are stupid enough to approach him today, will he stay at Coventry or will he 'do a Souness'? We know the answer to that......
  2. Doesn't look suspended to me. Moyes down to 7/1 now and Strachan has drifted out to 7/1. Reid 10/1. (smilies are supposed to be doing tic tac)
  3. How's this for a quote from Mark Hughes (from BBC website) regarding who he's learnt his management skills from (note the omission); "I've been lucky enough to play under many great managers. People like Sir Alex Ferguson, Glenn Hoddle and Ruud Gullit. I'd like to think I've taken something from each of them."
  4. Thanks! I fed the words into one of those terrible web translators. Could you tell?
  5. I was thinking the same. As soon as the question came he just started talking about his Welsh players and picking them up again. No comment one way or the other. Contary to earlier press reports I certainly don't feel he's ruled himself out. From earlier comments he hasn't ruled himself out either. Stuff like being flattered to be linked with the job but doesn't expect to get a call from Rovers....he wants the job!
  6. ...or alternatively, when the Times website asks 'Do you live in the UK?', click on the button that says 'yes'.
  7. Got a link for the odds on the different managers on betfair? Here you go Bet Fair Then simply look at football specials in the middle of the screen and then Blackburn's next perm manager I see you're now 6/4 from 2/1 a couple of hours ago on Skybet, Hughesy.
  8. Got a link for the odds on the different managers on betfair? Here it will only take you to the front page but you will see the link there.
  9. Having had a day and a half to reflect on this, my thoughts are: 1. Very surprised that Newcastle United considered Souness as the man they needed to take the club forward, given his record over the last season, with baffling team selections and tactics. My shock at him leaving, on reflection, is based upon this. 2. If a club of Newcastle's stature came in, I really can't blame him for leaving, given a distictly underwhelming last season and the opening to this season. He can't believe his luck!!!! Newcastle can provide the next step up for him to prove if he's got what it takes to manage a potential Champs League regular. 3. As in point 1, I don't think he will be able to achieve much other than a cup (which I'm sure they would welcome with open arms). 4. We've come out of this rather well, avoiding what I believe would have been a sacking and a compensation package. Crunch time was coming, one way or another. 5. Thanks for three great seasons of achievement, passion and fun. Now watch us turn over your new employers on Saturday!
  10. Checked the odds on Skybet - Hughes 3/1, Strachan 5/1, Jewell 20/1. They were offering a free £10 too!!!
  11. Just thought I'd bring it to your attention that you've put number 4 on your list of possibilities on the wrong list.
  12. Ive always sang, "Souness' blue n white army" thanks for not telling me guys and making me look like a fool That's what we all sung. Remember that American is in Boston and can't get to too many games......
  13. Then I've taken that you have forgotten that El Tel had talks with Rovers but snubbed us several years ago, if memory serves me correctly before we settled on Mr Hodge Podge.
  14. The inside track I have on Shearer's attitude in the dressing room from a football journo I know is that he is ego-centric, falling out with team-mates and using his fists too freely to 'resolve differences'. A fantastic player with a ruthless streak on the pitch but I really don't think he's management material. Getting Kenny back would be a mistake too. Remember that the success came from a trio working together to produce magic: Jack Walker, Kenny Dalgeish and Ray Harford. Sadly two of them are no longer with us. Kenny's reputation as a legend at the club is set in stone. Why spoil it? I find it difficult to see what either of these two individuals can currently offer Rovers that is over and above Houllier. Strachan or Hughes for me.
  15. Would you please note that there is a seperate thread for discussion about who the next manager will be.
  16. Please tell that comment is sarcasm that has gone over my head.
  17. Don't bet on it. He lives locally and isn't going to get a bigger gig in the near future. So be warned, if he is interested in a return to management then woe betide us.....
  18. The best scenario for the following equation: Managers currently available x realistic possiblilty of coming to the club = Gordon Strachan.
  19. I'm shocked, but as I said last night when this was first mooted I don't see where the club was going with him - we'd seen the best years and things were in decline. I'm annoyed that he's left so soon after the closure of the transfer window and after selling Cole. But for those of you wanting to see Dunn back, just what has he achieved since he left the club? The next managerial appointment is crucial, if we're not going to see Ferguson and Stead in black and white in the second half of the season.
  20. Det er fantasi nyheter! blåfarge og hvit hæren!
  21. I'd never thought I'd say this but, from what I've seen at Rovers over this last year, if he stays I won't be upset but if he goes then I can't say I'll be disappointed either.
  22. Well, he was touted as 'the new Gazza' a couple of years ago. What else could we expect?
  23. It also says: "Reports south of the border have suggested that Birmingham have failed to agree terms with Yorke - but The Blues are yet to make a statement on the issue."
