1. All three goals from individual errors. Just a shame that we made two of them (actually Micky made two for the first one). Although for me Bentley had his best game in a Rovers shirt, if ever there was an example of why we need a new striker than tonight's game was it. Kuqi could have played for another 6 weeks and he wouldn't have done a thing. I can't fault his work-rate or the crucial goals he's scored but he simply isn't good enough to cut it in games such as this against quality opposition. United were there for the taking tonight and a little more cutting edge up front could have seen us at least take the game to extra time.
2. IF we do get through to the final I can see the media's match reports already, starting with remarks on the final's poor attendance...
3. Fantastic day out. Great win, great support from the fans who sang their hearts out. Never watched a match from such a distance - was it only me who couldn't seem to make out who was who? Just for fun we went to watch the "Souness out" protests outside the ground, centred around the exit where the Rovers' coach was waiting. Saw Dickov come out of the ground with his arm in a sling. Didn't look good.
4. I think you are misinterpreting. I would like to have a couple of beers with a friend of mine I have not seen since the Leeds cup game. We are both responsible parents now and frown on lager louts. However, if the good folk of GNER are prepared to sell to me a can of beer from their buffet car, then I may take them up on the offer. I promise to behave responsibly for you and will not be wearing colours. I trust this has reassured you regarding my behaviour.
5. I'll take it that's a no, then. Looks like it will have to be cans on the train then.
6. 0-0. Does anyone know an away-friendly pub near the ground?
7. I'm sad though this would have to happen sooner or later. Good luck, Matt.
8. Are there any tickets left for the game? Can we pay on the day?
9. Sorry if this has been mentioned (and if I'm running away with myself a bit) but what is the date of the final? The football league website still has the fixtures for last year's competition.
10. He can but don't you mean 'outside the window'? Usually transfers do take place within the window. To be honest I'm having trouble visualising which side of the window we're talking about. I wonder which way it opens?
11. As indeed it was the beginnning of the end for Tyson after he was convicted for rape but in that case you've gone on record on this messageboard as saying it was the fault of his victim. What's the difference? EDIT - shouldn't this thread be in ICBINF?
12. If you were there then you should have said something to the authorities at the time. Seems you too may be complicit in ruining his life...
13. The most worrying aspect of yesterday's performance is that our inability to score is rubbing off on the players' confidence of getting a result and they don't believe we that we can score two goals to win a game once we go one down. We conceded one goal, heads went down and we shipped another two.
14. Can't see past draw on this one. Hopefully the defensive frailties of last week will have been addressed but can't see us scoring either. 0-0.
15. Chelsea Manchester United Arsenal Liverpool Tottenham Middlesbrough Bolton Wanderers Blackburn Rovers Aston Villa Manchester City Newcastle United Everton Charlton Athletic Portsmouth Birmingham City Sunderland Fulham West Bromwich Albion West Ham United Wigan Athletic Is it only me or did anyone else typing out the team names feel underwhelmed?
16. That's the Guardian's excellent Fiver email, and they've been calling us that for a while now. But spare a thought for Brum and Steve Bruce, who's known as 'Bongo FC's Bernard Cribbins'!!!!
17. Have you been to Newham or Hackney?
18. However you arrange the opposition we are Blackburn Rovers.
19. Yes. East Lancs does have a large 'ethnic' population. Maybe the club should offer them tickets at exactly the same price as everyone else. 323715 I was thinking about this and came up with an idea. Now it may seem stupid, but we may as well put any kinda ideas down on paper. Anyway, my idea.... Its obvious that the majority of asian kids prefer cricket to football. Now, thats not racist, sterotyping, generalising, its just plain fact. However, what about the idea of having a joint football season ticket at Ewood and a season ticket at Old trafford (cricket). Obviously we would need to talk with lancs ccc, and im sure that it would take a good deal of sorting out, but why not? I think both sides would benifit as cricket can be watched in the summer and football in the winter. Now, i dunno how much a lancs ccc s/t is, but say its £250 at lancs and £400 at Ewood, we could offer a joint s/t for a whole calander yr for say £550, a saving of £100. I know its sounds weird, but what do people think about the idea. We gotta try something ffs!! 324150 I really can't see how this would encourage more people to come to Ewood. It's not as if we would be tapping into a huge resource of season ticket holders at LCCC. All the club can do IMO is reach out to everyone in the local area; getting involved at with local schools to promote Rovers and encourage people from every background to come to the club.
