  1. Preferances no longer come into it. We've got both options.
  2. Sky Sports News says his deal with Brum has fallen through. It would appear that he's still a Rovers Player
  3. Exactly. Jansen could, and would IMO offer more to our first team than Boothroyd. True, he's not the signing to get pulses racing but I think we need to see how he performs over the next 10 or so games before we can objectively pass judgement on whether he can offer more than Jansen. The vast majority of us got excited when Yorke signed. The same cannot be said when Friedel did. Time will tell.
  4. I missed last night's MOTD so enjoyed MOTD2 this evening. Thank the maker that footy's back on the Beeb!
  5. "It will take a few weeks for him to grasp what our football is all about". He's not the only one, Mr Souness.
  6. at 10.30pm? Please provide proof....
  7. Who cares about Cole? He's gone. It's the wastage of the first halves of our opening two games that's concerning me. Souness must have been taking lessons from George Lucas. First halves like The Phantom Menace
  8. There's a pub on Livesey Branch Rd that I drive past on the way to matches near Feniscowles (can't remember its name) that is defo showing it.
  9. Yes, and De Pedro did better than Yorke apparently.
  10. So only Cookiemonster and I so far have gone for Man U. I can see that on paper they don't appear to be as stong as Chelsea or Arsenal but they now have Carlos Querioz back, who Ferguson credited with sorting out their defence and assisting them to win the title the season before last. + they missed Ferdinand last season. I feel Chelsea are one for next season - it will take time to make the appropriate changes before they can make a decent fist of the title. On a far more important (and sad) note though is that it's going to be a tricky season for us. I'm look forward to this season with less optimism than any of our previous premiership campaigns, given the strengthening that our direct competitors seem to have made coupled with Souness's new found love for Yorke.

  12. I agree, I think he was a bad signing. Yes, at the time we needed a striker...but did we really have to spend £7 million on a player that we wouldn't see a return on? It was a poor decision and we will pay for it now because we won't have any money to replace him. People can try to justify it by saying he saved us £20 million by keeping us up...and he may well have done...but we could have spent that £7 million on a much younger player who could have done the same job. Yeah, a Kevin Davies type player. WE STAYED UP! WE WON A CUP!! END OF STORY!!! It's also plausible that we could have signed a young player (out of interest who would you have bought?) who wouldn't have performed, we'd have lost the Worthington Cup final, we got relagated and never heard the end of it from the likes of you.
  13. Roversactive - given the gravity of the horror of Hillsborough, a comment like that is nothing short of pathetic.
  14. We agree completely Blue Phil (and who'd have ever thought it!) The forgive and forget brigade must understand that the purpose of a continued boycott is for The Sun to face the concequences of printing the unforgivable. A million complaints to the newspaper every year will ever achieve this - money talks at News Corp and low sales on Merseyside will serve as a continued reminder that they should NEVER do this again.
  15. Brilliant!!!!!! The chants will only really improve when we get rid of the drummer... ..don't get me started on him!!!!
  16. Some great chants, though realistically the best we can hope for from the Blackburn End is.. Get into Dom Get into Dom
  17. So you fear that he may score the winning goal in a cup final and prove to be the difference between a mid-table finish and relegation. You scare too easily.
  18. No, but clubs that spend beyond their means these days are likely to court financial disaster. Go and talk to fans of Leeds and Bradford. You may think that it's worth taking 'a chance' spending crazy money and gambling with the future existance of the club. I don't.
  19. For reaching the semi-final with the help of the ref? Any team that wins of course will deserve it, but I just don't see why they do on the basis of what I've seen so far.
  20. Funny - that's exactly how I went when I saw Dwight Yorke on the teamsheet last season.
  21. Agreed. ITV's news this evening thought that the trouble was worthy as being the lead story, with sensationalist reporting about 'England fans' going on the rampage. But the footage shown was distinctly iffy and showed no evidence whatsoever to support ITV's claims that this was a football related incident.
