  1. next seasons shaping up to be a thriller isnt it young loan keeper bennett at right back scrabbling to get tosin back, meanwhile Tony will load us up with more centre mids
  2. if this is true its an absolute joke, it shows mowbrays learnt nothing from this season walton cost us points another inexperienced keeper will do the same joke of a decision ( if true ) .
  3. no matter how its done it will be hard as people with gravitate towards fans they know, i go with my daughter keeping kids separate will be hard but the flip side why should they be exempt from going
  4. Hit them big time as poultry was blamed for the spread of covid so the business was massively impacted it is started to recover in the past week with prices going back up suspect football is a the bottom of the pile
  5. a poor start to next season will just be excused - insert any excuse bar blaming the manager. I guess I am guilty to a degree as a match going fan who doesn't want Mowbray out but I think that's more based on A I dont think they would sack him anyway B Its going to be another scrapheap desperado that comes in. If he is ruthless this summer and really tries to re shape the squad then i think that will get quite a lot of waverers back onside
  6. Totally agree with this, any sign of descent on twitter and facebook is shut down by the same old happy with mediocrity brigade, twitter is the same the contrarian cheer leading led by one or two well known rovers fans ( well known on twitter ). Who will see positivise in anything don't go against that grain otherwise the ridicule starts. We have the only fan base that actively doesn't want success because then we have to question the manager when we fail. This is one of the few places where you can debate the club properly rather than be shouted down by people who either never go and live miles away and don't see the damage that's done. Or those that will back the club to hilt and ridicule any suggestion that everything isn't amazing and positive.
  7. along with 21 other teams in the championship
  8. No i don't think he is (AA) but Newcastle did register an interest in Jan that was rebuffed by the club, I do not think any our stars are PL quality Travis and Nyambe still have a lot to learn. I don't think Lenihan is good enough for the PL either the summer recruitment is going to be grim
  9. Newcastle were sniffing round re signing Armstrong in January so it wouldn't be a surprise if he left and I suspect we'd get upwards of 8 million form him, Lenihan was interesting Sheff United. I don't think there will be much money sloshing round from the PL downwards can't see any championship clubs spending. It will be free transfers exchanges and loans across the board Mercers apocalyptic scenario could be applied to every EFL club most of which don't have billionaire owners ( albeit disinterested ones )
  10. Trying to be to clever it never worked with Dack earlier on this season. Play Gallagher and Armstrong centrally if you need to play Bennett stick him wide right and go to a 442 maybe 442 diamond play downing left back l, Rothwell on the left. We get worse as games go on graham is finished Samuel adds nowt
  11. I sit in the family stand Lowe's pre match warm ups are really poor when he conducts the shooting drills his setup play is all over the place. As Venus is really our DOF now it wouldn't be the worst idea to freshen his coaching staff up ( he won't )
  12. yeah i don't disagree with that, he's over complicated what we need when he's tried to play with a false 9. It is my major criticism of him especially this season i don't really know what style we play with apart from a lose 4231 with 5 players out of position
  13. i think in Gallaghers defence he's one of the players whose been Mowbrayed, played out of position to much so he doesn't score wrecks his confidence then when like today he gets a chance he's got zero conviction and confidence to take it on. As for Brereton i just don't think he's very good he seems to be unable to do even the simplest of things like head a ball he's another one whose confidence is shot to bits
  14. He'd last 2/3 months with that approach i think if we were to make a change ( we aren't ) i'd want someone more progressive with a defined style of play and identity
  15. to be fair to say i was underwhelmed was an understatement, i felt we could have and arguably should have done better with that recruitment job but credit to mowbray i think he has done s decent job since.
  16. Apart from sunderland for a limited time what's he actually done. Yeah he gets angry and shouts that will wear off really quickly there is a reason he's been out of work for ages. I still think with our more workman squad someone like Rowett would do an excellent job
  17. Strachan ?? Monk isn't he being sued by Birmingham and he left boro under a cloud due to agent issues, Keane when was the last decent job he did. McCarthy didn't pull up any trees at ipswich they stagnated and he left. Robins is an excellent manager would be a great choice out of the rest, Hughes would it work second time without Bowen? Hughton wouldn't come here and i'm not convinced on Karanka. It's immaterial at TM won't be losing his job anytime soon
  18. no not really we have about a million quid head space before FFP and we don't really spend that much, we are a million miles of european football and the top flight
  19. We won’t do a bristol city their owner has invested massively in sport in Bristol as a whole, he has a vision to make them PL and make the rugby team decent. The other thing is he’s a bristol city fan sort of the polar opposite of our owners
  20. Why would he leave Rennes and European football? They have a state of the art academy and the owners are one of the richest in the world
  21. we'll beat leeds optimism will return then an abject performance and baffling team selection against cardiff will finally put paid to the season
  22. I think Lambert walked because he knew he wasn't up to it as has been proved in every job since, had he actually strung more than a handful of decent results together he wouldn't have walked he saw we weren't improving and walked blamed the owners. All about saving his rep which has rightly been tarnished by the lousy jobs he's done at Stoke and Ipswich
  23. I wouldn't say TM is severely restricted my point is more with the squad we have i don't think we are under achieving. PNE squad on paper you say is more balanced and it is but playing devils advocate the aren't doing any better than we are. I think what is frustrating for me and where i do agree with you on TM Wigan and Barnsley are indicative of how we perform get close to the play offs then baffling team selection and a loss. Where i do give TM benefit of the doubt is rebuilding the club behind the scenes with data analysis revamping the scouting ( lets see if that bares fruit ). Until we have owners that are budget pro active eg start targeting summer signings in January getting them lined up knowing what money you have i don't see McCarthy Pulis and all the other has been managers mentioned doing any better.
  24. They would bring in someone from HSH thats how it works with 13k average gate we are always going to struggle to have a budget to properly push for the top 6
