  1. scattergun contracts eh!
  2. I’ll be as pissed off as you if we start the season without a GK and CB, but I’m not about to start dreaming up scenarios about having to sell to buy - purely from TMs articles. As phillipl said t’uther day - it’s not a bad thing if we (fans) and media think the club is skint. It’s far better than “Nixon’s Warchest” anyway. In reply to your edit - I’m always happy to admit it I’m wrong, but I rarely make my mind up definitively as not to be close minded. Ill get arsey if you bait me into posting via quotes I’ve said out of context, no link or @ sign purely as a wind up!
  3. Opinions that don’t immediatly assume the worst must really “flex” you’re mood, since you never stop with the petty pas-ag crap these days. Its almost like you and JHR have had personality transplants
  4. My overriding memory is Scott Dann berating him and being 3-0 to Birmingham at home.
  5. As anyone in footballs should be taken, judge their impact on’t pitch!
  6. That’s a strange way of explaining our finances under Bowyer. Surely it’s worth mentioning that he inherited the 50m a season black hole in finance, countless staff and players still being paid after leaving, and a completely hacked to death academy system / squad chock full of insane contracts for average players. I personally don’t think this scenario and that one stacks up. For example, I’d probably hazard a guess that the wages of Johnson, Downing, Dack, Lenihan and Graham are insignificant now compared to the likes of Jason Lowe, Jake Kean, David Goodwillie etc of the time.
  7. When we came out of league one (12 months ago) we had only DG and Nuttall permanent forwards. I would suggest at that point, we needed strikers. Armstrong, Brereton and Gallagher later - we’re looking very strong up top. Is it far fetched to expect the same at CB in 12 months? Or do we expect a shiny new promotion ready team signed up immediately?
  8. I think Sharpe suggested this too
  9. Debates? I don’t call a sweeping “we’ve wasted millions on substitutes” a debate TP. A debate on the individual merits of the signings fair enough, or if you’re thinking squad value compared to the day TM took over, there is no comparison. Equally - many views ignore key factors in order to assume worry or deliberate problems. For example, arguably the three best recent graduates prior to last season - Raya/Lenihan/Nyambe are all defenders.... notice nobody mentioned that when the “venkys don’t buy defenders” half baked theory made us all slightly more close to death.
  10. I must be in a different part of the multi verse because it finished 1-1 Few highlights - new lads look good, Dack looks in good condition, the subs made an impact and final shout for Hart who has looked good both times I’ve seen him this week.
  11. Seriously? You’re joking lads surely I do agree that we certainly are experts at boring the pants off everyone else though! If anyone is upset, let me know I’ll send you a get well card.
  12. What you on about, Martin is obviously coming back
  13. Give it a rest, I said (an echo of Sharpe) I wouldn’t be surprised if we pick up an experienced defender (like Hanley) towards the deadline!
  14. Maybe an old 6 foot something GK with a big mouth ?
  15. I agree but never forget a team with Danny Simpson at fullback won the Prem...!
  16. If you think TM & Waggott are telling the truth, this doesn’t or shouldn’t happen now because annual budgets are agreed. Unless of course we are assuming the budget is something they can ask to increase.
  17. I know loads of things you’d don’t 47er () but sadly on this occasion I’m hypothesising. Similarly to Olsson - with the way we’re moving (academy key to first team development) there are obvious reasons to name ex-graduates as potential targets. Im sure there are plenty of other centre-backs in similar limbo around the prem.
  18. Is that some sort of advocation for sacking him if we do lose the first game?
  19. Surprised nobody’s bothered about Olsson liking our new socks. Perv.
  20. It’s a great example though lad, opinions aren’t meant to be all the same, that would be boring.
  21. You mean like a sarcastic “what a surprise” if they like a shirt many do not?
  22. He’s an example of an experienced CB who could be available come the end of the window when the top flight squads start to take shape. Fair relevant to the transfer section? Much else I can agree on. I doubt “nothing much is happening” but I do doubt the ease in which (not you) some assume business can and should be done.
  23. Eh? Being equipped to deal with scenarios through experience is “intangible”? Remind me who had statistically youngest squad in the championship last season MB.
