  1. £27 in the outer sections of the Riverside. To be honest that's even worse value than the £36 in the BBE! The facilities are poor compared to the other three stands and you also have to miss the last ten minutes as it says on the ticket* you have to be seen walking out at that time in full view of the TV cameras! :o

    * - Note...may not strictly be true.

Yes but the point is it wasn't always this expensive to see it!

When people are being asked to pay out the equivalent of the ticket price to a - you mention West End show or we could mention whatever else - every week then they start (rightly or wrongly) to expect better!

Something like a West End show used to be a special occasion and you'd have got ten games in down the Rovers for that!

A decent seat at a West End show is £55. I don't think any of our seats are that much.

Actually I didn't know that about the Jack Walker Outer and you should know about bending the truth to back up your points ;)

Nice to you meet you Miss Kettle, my name is Mr Por :tu:

And you should then do your research better....................!!!

    Examples of the latter, please

And in the Jack Walker Lower outer. Please now tell us how bad the facilities are in there.......

People will bend the truth so far to try and back up a point.

  3. I think he does like a drop. He was the one person at the Player of the year awards who looked worse for wear at the end of the night.... excluding me and Jordan that is

Can I make that a little clearer - he was p*ssed out of his numpty. Not really a problem on a night like that I thought as he wasn't driving.

  4. I was also waiting to see what the club came up ... I've been impressed with the organisation on their previous trips ... but can't justify £479 for one night with the potential for further European games ( ) on the horizon, so it's the day trip for me. My one nagging doubt is ticket availability. The last time we played abroad in a city as accessible as Saltzburg was the trip to Lyon in '98. That night there were 1004 fans in the away end.

You do know that £479 is the ordinary trip, it's £579 for the VIP package!!! (they sent me an email!)

    Still not going

  5. Tend to agree with Col.

I can't believe the controversy this thread is causing, I'm in the "couldn't care less camp"

To me when the atmosphere is good, the drummers make no odds whatsoever one way or the other.

When it's poor I actually think they liven it up slightly.

Bill's a lovely bloke, and I sit far enough away to not really be affected at home games. However, I went to Charlton away one year and he sat right beside me with the drum. By the end it wasn't that I had earache, I was physically nauseous with the pain of having the drum banged in my ear for the entire game. (we were also quite far back in their tin, covered stand so the reverberation didn't help!)

So I can see both sides of the argument.

  6. According to the LET< MH has held talks with Todd yesterday and has told him he wants him to fight for his place. In any event, Rovers have not received any offers for Todd since the week-end.

    GOOD

The thought of a season without even the CHANCE of a flash of the lovely Andy's Abs or Pecs isn't palatable. I need time to get used to that thought!!!! (There's another couple of years until I had to worry about it)

    ;)

  7. And you think this will make a difference Jan.

IMO, unless its a meaningful game its very unlikely the very same people will go down to Ewood if the prices remain the same.

However... that is the million dollar question- if the pubs are prevented from showing the games ..will Rovers drop their prices?

For the few that actually ARE fans as opposed to the ones who say they're fans and never attend, I think the lack of access to the games will make a difference, and I don't think the club should drop prices. I think we're already very competitive. Arsenal have 5 Category A games where the cheapest ticket is £46(nearest neighbours plus Manure). We need to maximise revenue from our nearest neighbours too.

As for the numpty who said "it only cost me £32 to watch Arsenal away last season and this season Rovers are charging £36 to watch Everton" Can anyone spot the inconsistency????

  8. The LET today says every pub in Blackburn is to receive a letter from Arab Radio and Television (AR TV) Network, one of the most popular providers of live football. Authorities believe the move will stop landlords from using a defence which has helped 14 out of 100 licensees prosecuted fight off legal action.

Prosecutions rely on proving the landlord acted dishonestly-but the 14 got off because they were found to be unaware the practrice was illegal.

Police say the letter would leave the landlord in no doubt it was illegal and therefore with " no excuse" for breaking the law.

Officers arenow planning a crackdown on the companies which are selling subscriptions and leading landlords to belive it is legal.

PC Andy Duxbury said, " The letter from AR TV clearly says they don't allow people to use the decoders in this country. So the landlords cannot say it is a grey area or that they did not know it was illegal any more. We will be monitring what happens in the town after this letter has gone out and seeing if any pibs are still showing games. We are also going to be targetting the suppliers of these cards. The AR TV card comes with warning saying it is illegal to be shown outside their country but we have heard of companies covering this up with a sticker which says "do not remove or your card will be voided"."

    GOOD!!!

  9. To me the only solution I can think of is that you can buy a 5 and 10 game season ticket (not just the half season) that gives you an option of going to 15 or so of our home games. I'm not even sure how much this would work, but we certainly can't make the season ticket cheaper than it already is.

That's probably the best suggestion we've had so far. You could buy a Category A+ one, or an A one or a B one, or one which mixes them, for different prices (all giving a matchday saving). However we'd still have some numpty complaining that they can't plan their life that far in advance.

  10. How would we address the shortfall in income?

Much as it is a good idea, even if we sold 26000 of them we would still take significantly less than we do now in ticket income.

They don't care about that- they'd just be able to get a season ticket for less than the market value. In my books you have to balance the needs of the club with personal needs- which I think the club does better than most.

  11. I know how well off I am, that's why I'm still going. How many more seasons I will be able to afford remains to be seen.

It is now out of reach of a lot of potential fans though, which can't be right.

If all home games were priced at a tenner, we'd have the 'Sold Out' signs up every week.

Like we did for the two (three?) games last season which were a tenner?

    Get real.
