  1. I actually agree with Gav. Sacking him would just throw the season into even MORE disarray. However, were he to fall on his sword, either literally or figuratively, I wouldn't mind at all.
  2. I know this will be unpopular, but in the light of our dearth of left-footed players, why don't we just get Jason Wilcox back for the rest of the season. He wouldn't cost much and DEFINITELY wouldn't be worse than the rubbish that's played there this season (Thompson, Emerton, Reid)- not that they're necessarily rubbish overall- all of them, just rubbish on the left!
  3. Jim AS ever, you're absolutely right. So is the liverpool fan.
  4. Thanks I think it's the worst I've seen team spirit since I started going to matches (95/6). Certainly on the pitch anyway- I'm not sufficiently close to know at the moment what they're like off the pitch- I hope the team hasn't factionalised like Sherwood did to us. Do you think one of the fears might be "which one of us is he going to pick on next to fall out with?" I know that If I'd seen what they'd seen, and we weren't doing too well, I'd be walking on egg-shells- which can't help their morale. Maybe a couple of wins will change that, but the tactics have to ALLOW for wins, not dour draws which- when the other team score- means that we have problems. We don't seem as a team to be terribly bright (haven't since 94/5), and changing tactics mid-game has always been a problem. In this situation I think we're much worse and then add on the fact that people are playing all over the place and five of them are trying to play in two positions, it's been horrible.
  5. Erm?? If you were with him win or lose surely mid-january wouldn't make any difference. I agree. I think when he took over we needed a 'hard case' to sort out the 'rubber dinghy men'. I'm sure everyone was happy when he got rid of some of the dead wood. However, he has no idea where to stop. (getting rid of dead wood is ok but- to continue the analogy- when you start pulling up the saplings your forestry skills must be questioned) Basically you can be a hard boss, but if you don't know when to temper that with reason (which Souness patently doesn't) no-one wants to work for you. If your players don't want to play for you- or the atmosphere isn't good (note Thommo's actions on Saturday- and he's a favoured son!!!) the time has come to let someone come in who has man-management skills as well as a bit of toughness (Kidd and Harford- RIP- had none and Hodgson was undone by evil tactics of one member of his team). Of course- someone with tactics which don't involve a huge line of midfielders across the park might help too!! (of course since he's still unable to pass the midfielder shop while out looking for defenders or attackers- much like me with shoes- they're all we have.)
  6. Yes And stop it (and restart it) after each of the next 3 losses, I mean games- just to see how opinion shifts. Also the ones who after the next three losses still want to keep him should have their names published so that we can ensure they get the help they obviously need. :'>
  7. Darren Lewis is the new Henry Winter!!! Great article- absolutley right.
  8. And there he shows his ignorance. Anyone who thinks Alex McLeish is fit to lace Martin O'Neill's boots isn't a football fan. However, that said and realising that Martin O'Neill would never look at a club like us, Alex McLeish wouldn't be a bad choice. He's young, had relatively good ideas. I wouldn't have a problem with him.
  9. Mark Hughes, Chris Coleman, Mickey Adams Those are for starters- without looking at lower division managers who should be given the chance. Why not Gary Megson- He did the best he could with limited resources at West Brom- NIgel Worthington Off the top of my head
  10. IF you lot don't think something needs to be done NOW, you obviously don't care about Rovers. The only something that would help is either a) Buy a superstar who can inject confidence into the team- oh wait- we sold him; or Get the manager the HELL away from the team. The problem seems to have arisen at the time that he helpfully replaced Boersma as coach with the man who had COMPLETELY failed to get our strikers working when he was striking coach- ANOTHER piece of evidence in the "I have no clue what I'm doing" corner. Don't just sack him- extradict him to somewhere horrible- Camp X-Ray sounds good to me.
  11. Aw Flopsy- and I was having such fun
  12. Paul Don't worry- I'm completely calm. Finding it quite funny actually!! Takes my mind off the state of Rovers
  13. Could you possibly translate the above into an English sentence, please?
  14. Look, Shillito (OR thick idiot as I affectionately think of you) I am always going to hate Souness- whatever he does, wherever he goes, whoever he signs. This is for a combinations of reason, not all of them Celtic-related (in fact most of them Liverpool and Rovers related). Most people realise that on that point at least they shouldn't rise to the posts I make- I just get ridiculously happy when someone finally agrees with me! That doesn't mean I don't support the team- although given the recent lack of performances it's very difficult to continue to support players who look less than half-interested most of the time. (Except Andy Cole who gets my support, even though he CAN look disinterested, because of his sheer talent- Duff was the same) Also as a round trip to a game is 400+miles, don't accuse me of not putting my money where my mouth is. Although not being at the UEFA home game in person, I DID but a ticket so that the club realised I WAS interested- even if I DID have a life too!
  15. Oh yes, I've said it every game I've been to- including the WC Cup final! Of course I'm a Celtic fan as well! But not a Tim
  16. Chants? There were chants against Souness and I missed them?? How disappointing. (Founder member of the "Souness must go" faction. Said it on the day he joined ;-) )
