  1. 92er That's a wonderful idea Maybe we could organise some sort of presentation thing. I'd contribute to that!
  2. Is there a link?? I always thought that Berg had sense. I sincerely hope that you haven't been counting how long it is since he left you. That's sad obsessive behaviour. However, it wouldn't in the slightest surprise me!
  3. Seemed the best place to post this: Newcastle 1 Fulham 4 Only made better by : "Toon boss Graeme Souness was furious, and was ordered from the dug-out for his protests. " HEHEHEHE
  4. Yay!! I can agree with Tris!!! Standing in a sitting only area isn't big and it isn't clever. It's against the law and I wish the police had been there in enough force to just heave the lot of you who insisted on standing, out. There were two particularly sad individuals who appeared to be the ringleaders, wearing the ned's uniform of obviously fake Burberry caps who stood up almost continuously. I think a new rule should be passed whereby anyone wearing fake designer gear should be barred from entering football grounds. Fake Burberry is the domain of Cardiff City and Burnley. 'nuff said. I don't want to be associated with stupid people who don't want to obey the laws of the game. So the Norwich City fans were standing- SO WHAT? Hopefully action will be taken against them by their own club. If you want to go and cause trouble at way games, find another club to support. You're not wanted at ours.
  5. He's gone He's left a situation behind, but we've got a better manager out of it- and hopefully come January, some better players. Maybe Souness will buy some of the dross he left us with for the money he bought them for- oops no, he wouldn't do us a favour by over-paying for players to get us out of debt. I also have got a little fed up of all of the anti-Souness brigade who have raised their heads now he's gone. Some of us were being slated by you for our views over a year ago. Anyway forget him- he's gone to ruin Newcastle now, and more power to his elbow in that area as far as I'm concerned! COME ON SPARKY!!!
  6. Clayton and, much as I disliked him, Sherwood for me. The dross in midfield since has convinced me that Sherwood was a lot better than I thought him at the time!! Ps- for left winger- just in case I can't vote- DUFF!!!! (Am having connection difficulties from India!) Up front Shearer and Garner
  7. We're doomed, DOOMED, I tell you!!! I'm with the majority- a loss. How bad will depend on how many players we manage to keep on the park. A sending off, and it'll be a cricket score (unfortunately) However, to look on the bright side- ALL of their strikers could get injured in Europe. That would leave someone like Duff having to go up front. Oh my god- against our defence!!! GULP!!! I don't think the four of them together would get anywhere near him.
  8. I have a technical rehearsal that afternoon. Have a friend texting me scores and I will be at the game in agonised spirit- especially as the guy I spend most of the play wrapped around is a Chelsea fan and is likely to be gloating.
  9. Are we assuming that Thommos is still injured/injured again? If not, we should try him. He can't be much worse than what's been on view so far! Question is, which position would we play him in (HINT,HINT NOT LEFT WING MR HUGHES) other than that, anywhere in midfield would do.
  10. Radaghast I was just adding a little context for those who don't know much about Scottish football. Maybe Bertie should read it???
  11. Dickov good? gimme a break. If he still played for Leicester he'd be seen for the headless chicken he is. (Unfortunately- compared to what else we have, that would still put him in the "decent" category) Shaun Maloney and Jackie McNamara are still injured. Both are on their way back but nowhere near ready. I do agree with getting Vogts out, tho' Most of our lot cannot understand the complicated tactics and ideas he gives them. Get someone who can explain in layperson's language in (Gordaon Strachan please- or wait until December and get Paul Lambert in- he qualifies as a coach then) On another tack Barry Ferguson and Tugs couldn't play together, even the almost useless Advocaat saw that.
  12. Haven't read all of this. Wouldn't stand if YOU paid ME! Stood at Hampden in the early 80s with lots of barriers etc. When Scotland scored (seems like a long time ago that happened) got the legs taken from under me by celebrating numpties and fell UNDER the barriers down the terracing into a post, and hurt quite badly. Standing is a mugs game. Keep it banned
  13. Most of me wants to say Rippers. He was a hero of mine and also was one of the defining factors in showing me how far we'd dropped. (anyone else remember him on the wing at the Garner Testimonial? Even retired he was better than our cruddy players) However it just has to be Bryan Douglas I think. Never saw him, but the tributes are so glowing that much as I loved Rippers, I know there is a better player out there.
  14. I remember that game! There was so little leg-room, that every time we scored I banged my legs on the seat in front. I had very big bruises by the end! AND I was glad we stopped scoring! I personally hate Chelsea- more for the apes they employ as "stewards" than the actual cess-pit of a ground.
  15. We've got a flair player. One of our very own. Someone who can actually pass properly (ie not to Tugay's imaginary friend) V V excited. And if he's lost it, we won't have lost too much! Trouble is- will any of the other numpties in our team actually be able to read his passes and get anywhere near them? I still have this horrible memory of Andy Cole wondering what the heck he'd got himself into at Spurs away as he put his hand up for a pass for the umpteenth time and it was passed across the defence and midfield with every single one of them having a touch before it came anywhere near him. That unfortunately carried on throughout the time he was with us. Anyway hopefully Sparky's tellling them that fast attacking moves tend to work better than trying to walk the ball into the net. Do they have the wit and intelligence to understand, though??
  16. WHAT STRENGTHS? 350 shots with 3 goals to show. They came near our goal three times and our defenders let them in each time! I said about Amauseless before we bought him!! Rangers were laughing all the way to the bank. Actually most of the teams we gave free money to did! We lost to BOURNEMOUTH!!! For the first time I wish we were in the championship. At least then we'd be able to replace the ****
  17. Believe what you like. You're wrong and always will be so. Maybe Mark Hughes will divine some talent in the squad. It certainly hasn't been in evidence over the last 18 months. Admittedly it may be down to pathetic training methods and inadequate coaching and management. I guess we'll see now. I'm hoping and praying for Mark Hughes to succeed.
  18. OOh Alan75- I was going to tell you not to post the Mark Hughes article- it will make Tris so ANGRY to be proved wrong yet again, but he then goes and reads exactly what he wants into the article anyway. So that's all right! For the record, we ALL know that Premiership survival is a necessity, however for the maggot to turn round to the papers, when a lot of people were on their way to Sofia ,to say this isn't an important game, was the end for me. Might not have been important to you, but it WAS important to us, and the fact that he could treat it so lightly disgusted even people I knew who otherwise supported him. Mark Hughes think's there's a prize and won't be taking it lightly. Oh the world is so much better a place now! The team might be organised in such a way as to make a win possible!!!
  19. I don't think there's much to be said that hasn't already been said- apart from I was one of the ones who actually took action over the rubbish we were being served up and didn't renew my season ticket. Now, however, I have done- but had arranged to do things at weekends to make up for the lack of football, and I'm still unwinding those- hence I won't be there until November. However I HAVE paid for a ticket, so the club have, and can use, my money until such time as they have my bum on their seat again! At least I'll have patience with the dross being served up now. Poor Mark Hughes has a much bigger job than he ever thought with the terrible players we have. This time there's no Dunn and Duff to fall back on. I don't know about you, but hearing that the maggot wants to take Duff to Newcastle kinds rubs our face in it- don't you think?
  20. Bryan- Souness isn't our manager any more! Hey no more games of "guess the formation" or "decide who he's going to substitute- ALWAYS the best player" We might have to rely on great wins and performances for entertainment- won't that be novel!
  21. I am one of the happy's as well. He wasn't my first choice- Strachan was, but for sentimental rather than purely logical reasons. I've been happy since the short list was "announced". I'd have been happy with them. I'd even have tolerated Advocaat until I was looking up some stats on the dirties website and realised just how rubbish he was. Will see you all at the Middlesbrough game.
  22. Well, technically the gate will go up by 1 (I bought my deanocard as soon as I had formal confirmation of Souness going) However, because I'd figured on not going to Rovers much this season I'm away for the next 2 weekends- so will be cheering on from a distance. Does that count??
  23. Gary Croft (ok I'm biased!) would still vote for Le Sulk
