  4. Don't THINK he ever played for us!

That's me sorted. Got hotel booked Got parking sorted in my company's Cardiff office car park. Here's to a win!
  6. Yesterday I ended up thinking "Mark Hughes looks fit and healthy- I'm sure at 40+ he'd STILL be better thans dick(ead)ov" Someone needs to gag the moron(Dick(ead)ov). Another ref could have sent him off four times for his lip. I didn't think the ref was much good, but he did us a favour there. And Toddy sat in the dugout for the second half. He looked terrible- was struggling to get up the stairs and sat wrapped in a big coat for the second half. Also- any idea why we took off the one midfielder actually capable of tackling? A midfield of Emerton, Thommo, Reid Tugay and Pedersen is hardly the world's most robust. I had a theory yesterday afternoon- that we knew we couldn't have scored against them if we'd huffed and puffed for a year, so the second half was just to lull the Arse into a false sense of security for the semi. They'd relax cos they thought we were awful, and we'd beat them hands down. I'm not saying it's a GOOD theory, but it's a theory.
  7. I honestly don't know about this one, but isn't it NICE not to have to go into panic mode every time the opposition cross the halfway line? I don't remember feeling that with rovers since the heady days of Big Col, Pearcy, Berg and Le Sulk.

Don't think so, but that said, the vast majority of my friends are going and would have gone whenever they'd been played. Other things would have been sacrificed. Work/wives/husbands/girlfriends will always be there (if not one would question how much worth they were)- this is a one off in most people's lifetime.

    Semi Final

Fantastic. If the game had to be on Saturday (which I understand) this is the best possible time for me (ok I'm selfish, but ah shucks). Now I'll have about 5 hours (ish) to get home in- so no extra time and penalties, PLEASE!)

    Semi Final

It takes 3 1/2 hours from North London if it's reasonably ok. Add a couple for traffic and it's still a reasonable start.

    Semi Final

No it's the 5.15 kick-off on Saturday that's Souness' fault, Everybody cheer on Olympiakos for me- or I may be forced into hiring a helicpoter to get back to London and I don't think even that would do it on time!!!!!

    Semi Final

A lunchtime start would solve ALL my problems about going. Yay the FA!

    Semi Final

Well, refs don't seem to hate us any more. We've had LOADS of penaties since we got a manager who doesn't put the FA's back up. Not all of them 100% deserved allegedly!!
  14. You honestly thing Hughes is that foolishly sentimental? I don't. Hughes brought Jansen back (as he knew what he WAS) when he arrived. He found out what a mistake that was very quickly and Matty has not, quite rightly, been anywhere near the first team since. Sad, but goodbye and lets move on. The people who want Matty back are grasping on to a past that's as thin as air. He's NOT as good as any of the other current strikers, he can't concentrate on a game for 90 minutes, has no positional sense and finds it difficult to cope. Any money spent on him would be a waste, and I don't think any other team will take a chance on him- except perhaps Carlisle.
  15. Nope, but we didn't have to pay the (can't use the word I'd like to here) to go, so anything was a result!.
  16. OH dear God, NO! I was looking forward to Stead at least getting a SLIGHT chance to be a good player again.
  17. Joey I'd agree with almost all of that, except the bit " from a side with some talnted individuals who frequently lose concentration". Before Hughes we looked like an average pub side. The talented individuals had long since departed leaving (I must admit I thought) a bunch of no-talent no-hopers. I have no doubt that had Souness not gone, the situation would just have got worse, but he did, and we go real cash money for him AND an infinitely better manager. The no-talent-no-hopers are now quite skilled professionals who actually know how to play the game again, they look fitter and are playing at least twice as fast (and infinitely more accurately) Result.
  18. Sorry, but Stephen Reid was playing CENTRAL midfield yesterday. Brett Emerton pootles up and down the wing. Reidy looked VERY comfortable in the centre, but I'm not sure has looked so comfortable on the right I don't think he'll replace Savage against Liverpool, although Flitty might go out- which would be a shame- he was great yesterday too. You need to be comparing Thommo and Emo, and to be honest they both have their faults.
  19. Todd was captain. Dickov going off may actually be a boon to our hopes rather than the opposite. He's the most selfish striker I've ever seen- I'd be interested to know exactly how many assists he has (compared to say a Chris Sutton, or an Andy Cole who scored and created in equal measure) Someone can no doubt find these stats- I can't. Without him, it may be that we won't have the same "I'm going to shoot even if there are 3 players better placed" performance that we've had this season. Anyway, we'll see. We were brilliant today. Stephen Reid was awesome!
  20. Agree Ste. I will be sitting down. (but I am in the JW, so............)
  21. Didn't feel too funny as I still had 200 miles to drive!! Is funny now, though!
  22. Herbergehh Either is acceptable. I'd opt for mokoena on the bench just in case
  23. Speaking of "services"- Not knowing my way around Blackburn at all, was returning via the town late one night. (in the car) Stopped at what I thought was a red traffic light, when I suddenly realised that a. it was taking a little long to change and b. there were a number of women hanging round it and that the light was a little far over to be a traffic light. Fortuately no police around to accuse me of curb-crawling, or even worse to tell me I was too tired to drive home (which I undoubtedly was). Ps- am female and very hetero!!!
  24. Look, I'd prefer Short on CRUTCHES to Amauselesb*sta*d. Just found a reason to stop hyperventilating again. By the argument that Short hasn't played for ages, since Amo hasn't played for longer than Shorty, he shouldn't be considered at all.
