  1. Hooray! Hughesy is officially God2 (in a footballing sense) now. (God1 being Kenny Dalglish of course)
  2. Yesterday's game wasn't in the slightest painful. It was a point that all but assured our safety and meant the potential for going up the league. It also continuted our unbeaten run. Judge Hughesy by next season, when we actually HAVE strikers worth mentioning, rather than this season when we have Dickov. Thank you ABBEY. Unfortunately I'm not a typist by trade- normally my secretary would do that sort of thing.
  3. That result WOULD make us mathematically safe, I believe!
  4. I don't I love the way we're playing. I feel absolutely no fear that we're going to concede- the lack of the ominous, sick feeling I used to get every time the opposition crossed the halfway line is absolutely wonderful. I don't fear being given dodgy penalty deciions (or even the opposition being given 50/50 shouts) against us, and I'm always hopeful that one moment of brilliance could get us a goal. Without strikers it's the only way to play, and I for one would pay 10-fold to see that rather than the attacking football that people are calling for. Given that we're not very good at it and lose goals that way (last 5 minutes agains Arsenal anyone) AND that we need the money from places up the table, I wish people would get real. I don't care what the opposition say. I want us to keep playing EXACTLY like this because I want us 1) in the top half and 2) to not lose any games (or goals preferably) before the end of the season.
  5. Stepford-man strikes again. And scanning posting history is just TOO tragic to contemplate.
  6. Bollax (sic) Rovers were never close to his heart, just as Puke aren't now. He cares about one team and one team only- Rangers. Souness chants were started and carried on by the Stepford majority- most of whom have thankfully been released from their mind control now. As for us not being in the Premiership now- well we might (had Sourness turned us down) have got someone less objectionable if we'd waited- and we might still have had Dunn and Duff.
  7. Never a truer word spoken
  8. Me neither Even when we don't win it's not a chore to drive 220 miles any more- it used to be awful.
  9. Hey- I got a ticket too!!! Numremberg d2-1 11 June. Yippee!!
  10. BLOKE??????? She's here- and quietly screaming "I told you so" a lot! (And thoroughly LOVING this season now) But I wish this hadn't been brought up, It would give the "jilted boys" more chance to whinge on about their lost love.
  11. Anyway back to topic. At last someone OTHER than me recognises that people have been taken in by a load of smoke and mirrors. "Todd wouldn't wear the shirt". "David Dunn was too big for his boots". Both utter tosh, but put round by someone you all believed in wholeheartedly like good little Stepford wives. He'd been off the rails since the Celtic away match and no-one but me (and a couple of select others) seemed to recognise it. Thanks, DanLad for restoring my faith in sanity returning.
  12. Funny how the "report a post" doesn't work when it's made by a modator. So obviously moderators can be as offensive as they want and no-one can/will do anything about it. Dickless wonder
  13. We'd say "yes please if you give us money too"
  14. Accurate as usual. No, he didn't play in this loss. He also managed not to play in our 1-0 win over Manure at Ewood- I just checked on the official site. So therefore there must have been some other reason we won that one!
  15. Agree he gave 100% and cared when we lost. He's also a nice guy- I think- didn't see him in Cardiff (only didn't see him and Reidy- cos we had to rush back). Just too expensive (both in fee and wages) for what we got.
  16. And Todd redeemed himself by falling out with Souness. Anyway, hopefully Amoruso won't be in the team tonight and won't HAVE to be in the team for the rest of the season. I haven't predicted many losses from now till the end of the season- the way we played agains Soton and Arsenal for 85 minutes convinced me we're actually relatively good, but I'll change that to all losses if Amo comes in.
  17. Sorry- Todd would have (and has) been the better option. I'm sorry you can't move on and understand that. Amo is a useless duffer who would only be any good if "soccer" had the ridiculous American "football" rule that you could bring on a player for a minute (ie corners) and get rid again. And I was actually at ALL the games of the run-in, both home and away and actually SAW the "quality" of defending.
  18. I think it's because Souness was left with the nucleus of a great squad which he destroyed, whereas Hodgson's squad was destroyed by one player.
  19. Roughly 12 months ago, Amoruso's return to the starting line up COINCIDED WITH Rovers end of season run that saw us pull away from the bottom three. (Note the bold text) You perhaps weren't at Fulham away- when our season turned round IN SPITE of Amo, not because of him. The "oh sh*t" moments we came to know and hate with Dailly were there in abundance with Amo.
  20. One season, our strikers stopped scoring- that's the season Dean Saunders became striking coach. The following season we were almost relegated- Dean Saunders became first team coach that season. We didn't have a defensive coach- or at least if we did, he deserved shooting.
  21. and in the famous 6-0 (or was it one) he was at fault for at least 3, possibly 4 of the goals.
  22. And to all of those who're still in love with Souness and can't bear anyone telling the truth (you know who you are), don't read the topic- or at least don't respond. And it's just so especially poignant that it's Puke that he's destroying. It couldn't happen to a nicer shower!!
  23. I was in the car on Sunday afternoon, so had the joy of listening to 5 live's commentary of Puke v Manuer (for the first time in my life I was TRULY and wholeheartedly supporting United in something- a most strange feeling). According to the commentary team the Newcastle team "didn't look fit" and "had 5 players playing out of position". I think they also mentioned not seeming to want to play as a team, but by that time I was laughing so hard I had to concentrate on the road so's not to crash. P*kar*ehole and Sourness- MADE for each other. Just a pity it's too late for them to be relegated- never mind- that will happen when he gets HIS team around him ("proper" players- aka Nicky Butt -according to Sourness- the man who walked off after the semi without acknowledging his own fans and; making them even MORE unfit) When you think where WE were when he left and where Puke were when he joined and the relative positions now, does it give the 3 of us who wanted him out, shivers up our spine? You BET it does.
  24. AESF Weren't at the match, then? Van Percy (sic) ran straight into Todd, who didn't know a thing about it until the guy had bounced off him.
  25. Matt is seeing a sports psychologist and will be back next season (he hopes). On the downside he's not the bubbly guy he used to be, and looks fragile now. Not just physically- an air of vulnerability. Hope he gets well. Nice to chat to him again
