  1. Mumford and Sons at Glastonbury John Peel stage=legendary.
  2. Saw Frank many times too. Last one was about 5 years ago, in Chorley performing for about 20 people upstairs at a small restaurant. Photo from the night below. In the late 1980 the NME made a tribute album to Sgt Peppers, the 20th anniversary I think and Frank did the track for the Benefit Of Mr Kite. It was better than the original! He also did the weird voice on the run out groove too....I never could be any other...
  3. Didn't have time on Friday to get down to there Tris, we were staying up west. After the England game on Friday, surrounded by three ambivalent Jocks and a few dozy students, we dined at Mother India. There are two in the west end, one does Indian tapas opposite the Kelvingrove Museum and a standard restaurant, which was opposite from our Hotel. We went to the restaurant Mother India and were very well looked after. The food was modern Indian, with little bog standard curries (IE No list of curry names where you just add the name of the meat at the front). I had the chilli Haddock pakora starter and Chicken Spinach leaf main. They were both as good as it gets to be honest, and i speak from a lot of curry eating experience! Service was excellent, atmosphere good and surroundings stunning. We dined up stairs, with a comfy, relaxed air to it with friendly knowledgeable staff too. One of our diners was not too convinced with the quality of her food, and the waiter fed the comments back to the chef who provided a sensible and reasoned explanation. And Gave the girls free coffees as a good will gesture. Excellent way to forget about the previous ninety minutes down the road!
  4. The website appears to have gone, does anyone know if the restaurant is still open?
  5. Agreed Presty. 1000 Trees is a great song
  6. The Coral are back, with a new album next month and 6music have been playing 1000 years, which is excellent-Reminds me a bit of CSNY. Loved The Coral from the start, esp the early Scouse Psycho Sea Shanty stuff. But this new stuff is a lot more....grown up?
  7. Not keen on linking youtube stuff, bit like shooting fish in a barrel.....but this is very good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Zd_khk6zXo
  8. Agreed with you Doc. One of the most talented players I have ever seen play for Rovers. A joy to watch, and the highlight I think was his winning goal against Arsenal in the FA Cup, the aftermath of which is shown here. Absolutely top notch. Blackburn End
  9. Well Graham Taylor will be pleased that Ronald Koemans come to this.
  10. Flash Delirium is great, love it. Did you know they were originally called Management, but thought it was a bit too long, so shortened it to MGMT? Bite size pop trivia for breakfast, calorie free.
  11. Even if you hold the view that Paul Wellers music since he disbanded The Jam is all crap, I urge you to listen to the latest album, Wake Up The Nation. On first listen, it is very confusing, lots of dischord, bizarre key and tempo changes and musical styles from everywhere. But after about five or six listens, it all begins to make sense. Many differing influences/styles can be heard throughout-Scott Walker, Little Richard, Bowie, Grunge (MBVs Kev Sheilds appears on it), orchestral, kitchen sink...etc Not enough hours in the day to listen to it!
  12. You mean Foyle? He is and was. A short term loanee from Southampton late 1980's I think.
  13. Went to Swansea, spent 2 years recovering from a bad knee, now in Australia. Dandenong_Thunder
  14. Who does James Thomas play for now? Gonna have a google for him.
  15. Has anyone been watching The Pacific on Sky Movies, the Tom hanks WW2 series? I've been recording it, but never had time to watch any yet. My hard drives nearly full now so I need to make an executive decision on whether to bother or not.
  16. It's the juke box really Den, it's like listening to my own record collection. Later in the evening when it gets busy, and the music is played a little louder, that's when it comes alive.
  17. Not a restaurant as such, but a customer of mine runs this company. Tiffin It! Nice idea, wonder what his grub is like. Anyone tried it?
  18. Eddie that's excellent use of English As A Foreign Language, well done.
  19. Any chance of this going back to where people say where they have had good and bad grub? It was quite good for that.
  20. I just woke up now having just had this very same dream. But this time instead of Tris and Mike it was Mellison24 and Shilito.
  21. I watched Marley And Me last Saturday night. If I wanted to see an annoying dog grow old and die I would have read Linda McCartney's autobiography.
  22. There aren't really in pubs in China Town Per se, but what defines China Town? My own personal favourite is Corbieres, which is 10 minutes walk from the Nicholas Street area of China Town, but as you are a bit older than me then it may not be quite what you and as importantly your fellow revelers may want . Corbieres.
  23. The Grey Horse Inn on Portland Street is 5 minutes from Chinatown. It is tiny, so 12 of you will fill it though! Good atmosphere, but small. Met Dean Lennox Kelly there once. But there are tons of pubs round there though Den.
  24. Alan Shearer Small Talk Interview Also in the March copy of 442 there is a modestly complementary article on how Rovers won the 95 title. No real depth in it, and one or two factual errors, but makes the point of how little the team actually cost in relative terms.
