Typical Championship football! Some huff and puff, some horrible mistakes and a few moments of glory. Happy Eustace has brought a fighting spirit into this team, going by our last matches. Think we will win this. Someone else than the ordinary suspects, like Pickering or Trondstad to score the winner. COYB!!

Back from the holidays and nervously looking at our squad and the coming season. Love our opening 2 and really excited to follow Gueye and Yuki and see how they’ll deal with the championship as the season gains traction. Looks really good so far! So why nervous? Because no posts from me and ten goals scored in two matches. I’m jinxing it ain’t I?

And there is that moment of clarity I was ralking about

As a neutral watching the Euros it’s been kinda awesome. Good to see the «lesser» nations do well and show the continent that football is about the team and not the player(s). Watching Switzerland beat Italy and Georgia beat Portugal is what makes football fun. It SHOULD be unpredictable and not a given before a ball is kicked. England for me has been a bunch of incredibly talented players playing like just that…a bunch of good players. It’s no team in there. Look at Austria and Germany even when playing poor. There is still a team there. I bet with England it is combination of player/agent power, club power (don’t come home injured), FA interference and a weak «Yes»-man in charge. It’s more about money and power than football. So…good on Slovakia!! Keep it up 2nd half and you might make the quarter finals. Still expect a moment of clarity from a english player before full time resulting in a goal and 1-1, 2 dreary extra 15 mins before England goes through on penalties against mighty Slovakia, but I hope I’m wrong. No offence. Just thankful that Norway isn’t participating as that would proably be horrid despite Odegaard, Haaland and Sorloth. There is no team there. Just turgid boring football.

45 mins to go and I’m not sure what to do. The sun is shining. I’m on the terrace with a beer in the sun, guitar by my side and dog at my feet. And still I feel compelled to go inside for 2 hours to watch the game even though I know the odds are I will regret it later. On the other hand 5 at the back might prove the genius decision that let us hammer Coventry 3-0. The odds seem obvious but that’s the life of a football fan isn’t it? Still time to make a decision.
