  1. Ya he should have been available as we are allowed to revise a couple of players off our initial 25 man list.
  2. Ive watched almost every Rovers game live on TV this season and I have to say that Neill has other than the game against Liverpool been fiery, committed and tough as usual. However, since he has been playing left back he is much much more better going forward than defending, which was I think the opposite at right back. You are forgetting that we are playing him at left back. But his performances have been decent and he gives us much better solidity at the back than Gray.
  3. I think Konchesky is one of the better English left backs, but then again, how many of them are there to start with! Also, I am so not surprised about the release clause. I would have took the money and signed Nescmachny personally.
  4. The Mirror is calling him "Lucash". I like it!
  5. That Topkapi Palace is a brilliant restaurant by the way. Say hello to Seref and Gursel for me!
  6. Doubt we will sign the Moroccan. I wonder what Lucas Neill will say to explain his move to West Ham...New challenge, bigger club, club with tradition, they belong in the top 6, the chairman is looking to invest, Im sure we will survive otherwise I wouldnt have joined, etc... Ya ya ya we have heard it all before!
  7. Great news. But I cant see this being so far off the deal Bolton had agreed. We just probably dont want to make it official and show our hand in the transfer market. Just been over his stats and Dunn managed 75% of the games we had played in every season until he moved to Brum where his long-term injuries started. Some people seem to forget that. Whatever it is, be it motivation, hunger, etc.. I hope he regains it here and we see the best of him again. Anything on when he could actually start playing for us according to Sparky?
  8. If he does, I hope they go down in flames and he enjoys Championship football next season. Nothing personal against you Lucas, but thats football.
  9. How could a guy who says no way to such a move be convinced 3-4 days later? Either he was led to believe bigger fish would be after him this month by his agent, or I cant explain it.
  10. Best case is about 1.5 million for Neill with Nescmachny coming in, but Id take Konchesky too ahead of Warnock for sure.
  11. Just read Big Sams quotes. Dunny is 27 now, more mature, and I dont think he will work with a better coaching team than the current Rovers one. He knows he will have to win his place in the team, and who better to play next to than Tugay. IF his injury troubles are behind him Im sure we will see his best. There is no laziness in this regime and no place for lazy players and Im sure Sparky will be explaining all this to Dunn. It all reads like a fantasy story, star midfielder injured, prodigal son returns home to take his place. Will it have a happy ending?
  12. Exciting times. It would be a big big surprise if he chooses Bolton over us and would SURELY damage his standing with the Blackburn faithful.
  13. I think this is the kind of risk that clubs in our position have to take. I cant see us forking out 3-4 million for a proven midfielder the way our spending has been taking place over the past year or so, so I see this as a realistic move for us, considering our financial situation and our league standing. If it works out, then we got a player worth 5 million at least, and if it doesnt then we lost 1 million pounds and I have seen us WASTE much more on much less players.
  14. Whoever thinks we have better options around, stop fantasizing that the club will go and sign a 5 million pound midfielder or even the likes of Sidwell, or whoever. We wont. My guess is this is the best quality player we will bring in January if it happens. Mind you, I said quality.
  15. What is competing? Being on the pitch for 90 minutes? Then ya. Me and you could do it. The Axe is only good for closing shop especially in a 4-5-1 off the bench or in a very defensive strategy. He has close to no passing ability or creativity.
  16. Disappointing IF this is true because our board always gave me the impression that we were one of the few HONEST ones if there is such a thing in football. But then again football is weird and being on the outside its difficult to understand what goes on in the inside.
  17. Very very disappointing. So many players dont ever rediscover their old form after this injury. I hope Reidy isnt one of them. Looks like this is why we are back in for Dunn.
  18. Any chance of him staying whatsoever Brownie? I mean by signing a new deal that is to his liking? Or was it more a case of Im leaving but "when" I dont know.
  19. WHats your source? If true, its sickening and sad!
  20. Best playmaker since I began supporting the club in 1992. Classiest player and if he ever played for a bigger club on the world stage, his name would have been said in the same breath as some Brazilians Im sure. A legend and I truly hope he keeps on playing for another season or two.
  21. Pointless to do that. Sometimes their only motivation will be that and then next season you see a useless player with nothing to play for.
  22. I hate how its a double-edged sword... It isnt a coincidence that our falling gates have been met with less spending by our board. Under the first few years of Souness' reign, Id think that we were among the biggest spenders outside the top 4, and we were averaging Id say about 3-5 thousand more fans a game, if not more.
  23. Luckily we arent in a rush to do anything so we can afford to really judge him by his second half of the season performances.
  24. He isnt yet to the point where he deserves a run in the side, but its good to keep on giving him a sniff off the bench.
