  1. I was waiting for MGP to come on all second half. He should have been on by half time for Rudi imo. Why is Rudi even in the squad? Why?! Why?!!! Worst. Midfielder. Ever.
  2. Interesting comments made by MGP post match to VG Nett about his debut... A few choice comments: "It was a bit strange playing with new teamates. I've been through half a training session and was sat at the hotel trying to learn names before the game. I guess that says it all but at least I'm off now and I think I'll get better in the next two or three games." About the miss...: "I should have scored there. It was on the end of a long run and I had already decided to put it away high, it just went a little to high.."
  3. Last time I checked, P.A Flod was Carew's agent/manager...
  4. Yes but he played right midfield yesterday and was rubbish. So your point is?
  5. Bjørnebye is currently the assistant to our National coach Åge Hareide, what he adds to the team tactially I couldn't say. Henning Berg seems to have settled for a TV pundit job so far.
  6. You think a starting line up like that will keep Arsenal from scoring more than just the one then? You must be nuts.... I think Arsenal will take their foot off the pedal when they reach 4...so, 4-0 Arsenal.
  7. You are so out of order with a comment like that. If he's not a proper fan then I suppose I can't be either then eh? I must have wasted the nearly 5000 NOK I spent last weekend to get to the West Brom game since I am clearly no fan. Idiot.
  8. Gutted. Ref cost us the game. Souness needs to start fielding his best team from the start. We are wasting 45 mins a game at the moment. Can't believe he gave the penalty there. Can't believe it.
  9. Ah but the thing is, we're not the better team. We've conceded the midfield to Southampton. It's completely ineffective and Stead and Yorke are left with a lot of working to do to try to create something. Apparently we've got Flitcroft on the pitch somewhere, problem is I haven't seen him. At least Matteo has been near the ball a few times.... I expect Souness to do something drastic for the second half because if we just "keep it up" we've not got a chance in hell to get anything from this game. Oh and I knew Emerton couldn't attack but after West Brom I thought he could defend a bit. How wrong I was. He's completely useless.
  10. oh well...at least he didn't go back to manure...
  11. This guy will milk it for all its worth. Let him mooan, does it matter?
  12. Article on dagbladet.no said today that although Villa and Newcastle were watching Gamst Pedersen during their last game, they had talks with someone from Rovers. The Tromsø boardmember interviewed said he couldn't remember the name but that the person was a "boardmember"? Anyways, no mention of a bid. Just "talks". Good translation Lathund, just a minor mistake (tilgis = forgiven).
  13. Been listening a lot to these two records lately: Kent - Vapen och Ammunition Swedish band, named "Radiohead of the North" by some. Good lyrics, strong melodic tunes, this record is one of my favorites. They sing in swedish but I recommend giving them a go anyways. They've released a few albums in english too. James Carr - You got My Mind Messed Up The forgotten voice of the deep south soul scene of the 1960s. Overlooked in favour of such artists as Otis Redding and O V Wright, many feel that James Carr's talent eqlipsed them all. Infact, many feel that this is the ultimate soul album, highlighted by James' ultimate version of the song "The Dark End of The Street", which has passed into legend. You've all got to check this guy out.
  14. Arthur Athletic in one of the lower leagues in Norway. I just started a few weeks ago but it's good fun. I lost my very first game, but since then I've gone on a 5 game perfect run. Including a friendly I've won the last 6.
  15. maybe Souness just didn't know who to drop in midfield, also our strikers are doing @#/? poor in the last 3 or 4 games, it seems almost every team in the league has a range of good players, there is a fine line between winning and losing, i do think 1 win in 11 games is almost as bad as Hodgson's record but Souness needs time he will get it right, should have got a top striker however in the summer Our strikers are in poor shape so Souness combats that by dropping all but one? Yes, seems logical doesn't it. Much better just to play the one than showing someone a bit of confidence...say Grabbi...giving him a few games, give him a chance to get that goal and let him turn that corner. Nah, much better to play 4-5-1 with two sitting midfielders, one headless chicken (but he's the captain, he must play...oh and he can tackle...a bit) and two wingers who think they play in the middle. Yes. Smart move.
  16. It's interesting to note that whenever someone posts something remotely critical of the management or the team, they will almost by default be flamed or treated like a complete recluse by a certain set of members here. The rest of the boards seem to follow suit. I may not agree with rover6's post here but I am absolutely disgusted by the outright abuse he got for actually posting it. And no mods seemed to care until Tom mentioned that the language was a bit harsh. I have to wonder. We can't be negative towards our club? We can't be critical? Why not? We want our club to do well but at the moment it's clearly not. Should we never ask questions about the players or the management? We've only played what..9/10 games? Now, that is to many to put this down to a bad start. And blaming "bad luck" is a very easy way out. If freedom of speech doesn't exist here. What is the point of a messageboard at all?
  17. Joined the Premier League one. Team is: Friedel Samuel Lundekvam Woodgate Riise D Johnson Tugay Parker Emerton Van Nistelrooy Henry Subs: Rabchubka M Johnson Hignett Radzinski
  18. Whatever happened to The Seahorses? They were one of my favourite bands back in the late mid/late-nineties, the album was fantastic. Then they disappeared from the radar. As tucker said, they were working on new songs when the called it quits. The singer had trouble with Squire's way of working so he left. The group then fell apart and Squire then looked for a new band but decided he should sing himself in the end instead of arguing with singers! But check out his album though. It's really very good. Anyone know anything about Reni's band?
  19. John Squire's first solo album is actually pretty damn good. I've had it a while now and hadn't played it for a while but played it today and it's a great little album. It's called "Time Changes Everything".
  20. I can recommend a book called "The Devil's Own Luck - Pegasus Bridge to the Baltic 1944-45" by Denis Edwards. Edwards was a member of Major Howard's D Company, (Ox and Bucks Light Infantry, 6th Airborne) the coup de main force that took the now famous Pegasus bridge. He kept a diary during his time on the front lines and this book is his memoirs, giving a detailed look on life as a combat infantry man in the british sector of Normandy and beyond. I'm half way through and it's a brilliant read so far.
  21. Personally I love "The Last Continent" and "Interesting Times" by Pratchett. Any book involving Rincewind really.
  22. You can't go wrong with Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
  23. It's the tune they play when Ali is running around the country side with the kids all around him, before the "Rumble in the Jungle". At least I think that's the one (been a while since I watched it, due another re-run I guess). The avatar, I asked VERY nicely CURRAHEE!
  24. Salif Keita - Tomorrow You may have heard it in the film ALI (with Will Smith). Highly recommended (both song and film).
