  1. Yep. Not your average rambo style Medal of Honor type FPS though. Good game.
  2. I quite like number 2 so...don't see what it has to make up for? SEMI SPOILER! (it's in all the trailers) There's a great moment after McClane kills a chopper with a car and he chuckles to himself, it's just priceless and you think, "yep, this is definitely Die Hard". His daughter is great too, takes after her dad in every way. You'll see..
  3. I saw Die Hard 4.0 last night and it was excellent. Some brilliant John McClane moments and even when the action gets stupidly over the top (it's near the end, won't spoil) it's still good. The only thing I didn't like to much about it was the fact that it plays out over massive areas and to me, Die Hard is best when it's in a cramped space (even though Die Hard 3 did work well). That's just a minor fault though, I loved it. It was a great Die Hard movie.
  4. It is yeah...but damn, it was just awesome. It is easily the best of the Hollywood blockbusters so far. The robots look absolutely stunning, the transformations look great, the visuals are fantastic. The one thing that is a bit annoying is that when the action really gets going, there's so much stuff going on that the camera can't take it all in and it can be hard to really see the battles that are happening. It's funny, it's dramatic, the action is MASSIVE and there are some amazing set pieces, particularly during the Optimus Prime/Megatron battle towards the end. Sure, the plot is nonsense but it is fun and I thought it brought back nostalgic thoughts towards the old stuff...although I'm sure hardcore fans/fanboys will find plenty to bitch about. Optimus Prime looked and sounded great though, loved it!
  5. I saw Transformers today at a preview showing and it was...it was just glorious. I'm going to see it again once it premiers this week. Autobots roll out!
  6. So I had my first ever go on a PS3 yesterday. Tried the F1 game for 10 minutes and it was fun, I liked it. Shame its not on the 360 because I would totally buy that. Didn't really give me to much of an impression about the console though. It looked solid enough but I'd need a bit more time to conclude.
  7. If you honestly thought the special effects were poor, you clearly need to stop drinking. This was easily the best looking Spider-Man film yet. The story had some problems, parts of it felt forced. Some characterizations were way off, particularly Sandman. Venom seemed a bit tacked on really and could have carried a movie as a villain on his own if done right. I was excited that they were putting Gwen Stacy in it but they totally wasted her, a shame. The Parker strut sequence was bizarre but amusing. The jazz/dance scene was lame and seemed really disjointed. And Harry deciding to help Peter after his butler told him he was wrong for hating Spidey was a cop out by the writers. The effects were awesome though and the fights were great. I still enjoyed it.
  8. Did you like Spider-Man 2? If you did, go ahead and get it. It has its faults certainly. There have been some seriously fun parts so far, some parts that make you go "oh that's cooool" and on the flip side, some annoying parts bordering on frustrating. The web swinging is a lot of fun. A lot. It feels improved and it's almost exactly like seeing Spidey swinging in the movies. You can go from really high up to really down low as easy as anything and go really fast without much trouble. It's really cool to combine the web swing, web zip and jumps to move really fast across the city. The fighting is a bit annoying though, particularly the dodge feature which doesn't always seem to work as it should (then again, I may just suck at using it). You can string some seriously cool combos together pretty early in the game and you unlock new ones at a decent pace. You don't have to "buy" any upgrades. Swing enough and fight enough and you will unlock new moves or faster swinging. The camera is definitely dodgy which doesn't help during fights. Also, some fights seem to rely on you having to use the dodge and counterattack feature to get hits in. This is at least true when it comes to boss fights. There are parts during the game, mostly during boss fights (sometimes during chases or rescues too) where you get to a sort of cut scene but you have to play it out pushing the buttons that are prompted on screen. These can be a bit tedious at times but they look really cool for the most part and they give you a feeling of pulling off incredible Spidey like stunts that you just couldn't do in the regular gaming engine. The random crimes are brilliant. They happen spontaneously, you don't have to activate them by talking to a civilian like in Spider-Man 2. They are also much better then last time, much more varied and some of them can involve you doing various things like chasing someone down, taking out snipers, taking out thugs, stopping cars. Sometimes you have to do several of these things to stop a single crime. You actually follow the cops to find the crimes some time. Hear a siren? Follow the cop car and stop the crime! There are also tons of other stuff to do in the game like; skydiving (yes that's right...), races, combat tours, bomb tours. There are tokens to collect and there are of course several missions to chose from. There's the movie story line and 8 or 9 others. The stories aren't really connected in any way though but are enjoyable enough. A lot of well known bad guys show up and it's fun to play out for a fan like me. I'm enjoying the game but it's not perfect. I am a bit biased maybe being a Spidey fan but it is good fun. A bit like Spider-Man 2 only bigger, longer, got more stuff to do, more bad guys, better looks. Any questions, just ask and I'll try to answer them.
  9. Ok, so I err...came across a non dubbed copy of TMNT and I've just watched it and loved the hell out of it. It was a lot of fun, took me back to the good old days. The characters were instantly recognizable, the humor was there and the fun was there. The action was great and the animation was spectacular IMO. I mean that fight scene in the rain...how did they DO that?! Superb stuff!
  10. According to tothegame.com, we're looking at an October 19 release date.
  11. [fanboy]How come everyone gets spidey's name wrong all the time? It's Spider-Man you know, not Spiderman....[/fanboy] Also, I really want to go see TMNT but we're only getting the dubbed version here at the moment, which I refuse to see! Looks like I'll have to wait for a DVD release At least it won't be long until May 4...
  12. Yeah...got that one already. I'm such a geek.
  13. I haven't seen Ghost Rider yet (probably will...since its a comics film) and although I'm no Nick Cage fan, I reckon you can't blame the crapness on him this time. Mark Steven Johnson made the film. He also made Daredevil. I can not understand how they gave that man more money and let him make another adaption of a Marvel character after Daredevil. It defies all logic.
  14. Check out the lady sitting on the left, obviously been to the Arsenal school of diving... Ow...my head...
  15. I'm sure fans of other teams are saying the exact same thing about their players though.
  16. Yes, I was about to post about Spidey 3 too. I've really enjoyed the last few years worth of Spider-Man games and I can't wait for this one. But then again, I'm a huge Spidey fan and I'd get it if it happens to be rubbish too. I think this will deliver though. Looks very promising. I'm excited about the TMNT game too, it looks like a lot of fun and it will be great to go back to my childhood on this one. Primed for nostalgia I think. There's been a bit of talk about the TRANSFORMERS game coming up too (another movie tie in) and it is supposedly another sandbox type game where you get to transform as often and as much as you like. Should be interesting to follow its development.
  17. I know mate, I remember you posting that. I'm just glad I waited until I could get it cheap. I'm a sucker for superhero games so I had to get it eventually...but I kinda wish I didn't.
  18. So I found Superman Returns on a budget price and although I had heard bad things and wasn't that impressed with the demo, I decided to get it for some easy achievement points...it's so bad I'm lost for words. Holy crap, how could they get it THAT wrong? How can you not make a "sandbox" superman game just even a little bit fun? I don't get it! It looks bad, the voice acting is extremely uninspired, the story doesn't make any sense (it even manages to get the movie tie-in bit wrong..ffs), the chapter system definitely doesn't make any sense and playability is absolutely awful.
  19. Can you imagine that reaction of the press if a foreign coach, whoever it may be, came in and took a stand against someone like Lampard? Even if the coach was right, the media would kill the guy for it.
  20. I doubt very much that I'll ever consider a Wii. It feels very gimmicky right now as you said but I can't see anything in the long run that would change that for me. I'm very happy with a regular gamepad and I don't need "new" control schemes to keep me interested. The only thing I would like to try on the Wii is Madden, but that's not going to make me go buy one. I've been very, very happy with my 360 since I got it and there are plenty of games coming up down the line that really excite me. As for the DS, I think its a fun little machine and I loved "New" Super Mario Bros. Haven't really looked into too many games for it though as I prefer to spend my "games money" on 360 stuff. Also, I don't commute as much these days so I don't play it as much.
  21. NHL and NBA 2k7 demos are on marketplace. I'd take a look at EA's NHL game though. The skill stick is pretty cool (hah).
