  1. Worst gaming news of the year so far is Assassins Creed being pushed back until September or something. Gutted
  2. Speaking of bargains, I got Sid Meier's Pirates and Rome Total War for 20 quid just before xmas. Both very awesome games!
  3. I've sent out a friends request to a few of you, just a heads up. Gamertag: Shev 777
  4. If they get Galactus right, then maybe. Although, I thought the first one was alright. Sure, it had its faults but not bad for a first go I suppose. Alba looked fantastic, they got the Torch working (good fire/flame effects) and Ben Grimm kinda worked. Mr. Fantastic needs some work though and they managed to screw up Dr. Doom. The Surfer looks great though and this could work...if they get Galactus right.
  5. I haven't done this on Madden 07 yet but on 06, all you had to do was to wait for you contract to expire and then ask your agent to look for a good contract elsewhere. He'll find you a couple of options and you can choose which one you want. You could also have your agent ask for a trade even when under contract but this will affect your personality. You usually have a two year deal when you start a new superstar game, but you should check your contract.
  6. We've got to play a game of Madden some time Eddie.
  7. I downloaded the second patch and couldn't install, getting the error that it wasn't an .exe file. So I gave up.
  8. The demo is on Live Eddie. I was not impressed.
  9. Yeah, thanks to xbox marketplace I've played the demo. It was ok but I can see how it will get boring after a while so it's sorta dropped of my list. May get it once it hits budget price. Right now I'm waiting for Assassins Creed. Looks so, so good...
  10. Not strickly true as Benni was 3-4 meters offside as he ran through before he scored the second. The goal shouldn't have stood.
  11. Home 2 and Away 3 for me. Although Away 2 looks alright too.
  12. Listening to the Rovers World feed. Worst feed ever...
  13. I'm interested but currently haven't got a Gold membership. I'm considering it though. I do have a couple of 48 hour free trials though so I will be able to play. Currently got these for multiplayer: Madden 07 NHL 07 Top Spin 2 Pro Evo 6 Fight Night Round 3 Splinter Cell: Double Agent Marvel: Ultimate Alliance Gamertag: Shev 777
  14. We desperatly need more "box to box" players. Right now, the two strikers are more often than not isolated up front so that when MGP actually does gets past his man and swings it in there, it's all empty. Likewise with Bentley, but he tends to have MGP to aim at too.
  15. Actually, if you win a challenge you are NOT charged a timeout and if you lose it you are. Being charged a timeout is bad, seing as timeouts are important in a strategic sense towards the end of halfs specially. In the NFL you can't challenge everything either, certain things are not eligable for challenges while other things are. I don't think a challenge system would work in our game but active video refereeing would. In my opinion the game as we know it is almost completely ruined. There is so much playfaking, diving, fake injuries and general unsportsmanlike conduct going around...and that's just the players. Add to that, that the officials can not do their job in a competent manner and they are getting PAID for said job, watching football is rapidly becoming a waste of time. I can not understand the sentiment that people want "incidents" to talk about post game for the sake of it. Being constantly cheated during games leaves nothing but a bad taste in my mouth and I really don't want to discuss it after the game, I want to know why my club got screwed by a man who can not do his job. Anyway, video would not eliminate things to talk about, but you would at least be safe in the knowledge that whatever happened was as close to fair as you are going to get it. I think that video should be used for goalline incidents, questionable disallowed goals (through offsides that are though to call), difficult penalty incidents and certain red cards. Some cards are clear cut, these do not need reviewing. Others are not, like Tugay's. There should be a booth system where a video referee can review the incident while being in contact with the official on the pitch. I would also LOVE for the main referee to have a mic on so he could convey to the crowd just exactly what is happening, NFL style. If a player is sent off, he should tell us why. I see no reason why this would interfere with "the flow of the game". We already have cheaters who playfake that do that for us already. I have no trouble with breaks in the game for the sake of fairness. At least I would know that we are treated right on the night of the game.
  16. It won't but it should. And I won't hear any of the old excuses, that "controversy belongs in football" or "it would slow the game down" or "stop the flow of the game"...rubbish. All the play faking and cheating is ruining the game already. All the players falling about the place and getting back up again, like Zokora did today. Controversy does NOT belong in football today. If we are to preach fair play then we can not allow stuff like this to happen. Questionable penalties, red card situations, questionable goalline incidents and disallowed goals should be reviewable. Referee's have proved to us all to many times that they are not capable of doing their jobs in anything near a satisfactory manner. We need to bring in the video option now and help these idiots out. They obviously need any help they can get.
  17. Time for video reffing... Fair enough, the penalty could be defended although it was really harsh. Tugay was coming in to block a shot, got fooled and made minimal contact with the Spurs player, who's made a meal of it. What the assistant referee saw that merited a red card...God only knows. Shocking. I don't care about "the flow of the game" any more. There is to much invested these days to allow muppets like these referee games on their owns. We badly need a NFL style "booth" system where they can review decisions like this. If we have to stop the game for a minute, then fair enough. This can't keep happening.
  18. We should stay well clear of Mikel. That lad has got his head so far up his own ar** it's unreal. There is a reason Mourinho is taking a hard line with him. He is nothing but trouble.
  19. I can't say I agree. Again his deliveries were poor and really, he needs to cut out that "I'm going to score from a corner" rubbish he keeps doing. It's selfish and hurts the team and no, it is not impressive when it comes off the crossbar. He has to realise that for him to score directly from a corner you need the goalie to make a huge mistake and a fundamental mistake...this is the Premiership and you can not expect that to happen. It is throwing away an oppertunity from a corner IMO. Anywhere from a few weeks to a month. Maybe a little more. A broken bone usually needs 4-6 weeks to heal I think. Should give Peter a chance then....
  20. Well that was disappointing. Fully deserved victory for the Mancs tonight and really, they should have had a couple more with Rooney missing some absolute sitters in the first half. We didn't really have any chances to speak of apart from a very good header from Zurab from a corner. We didn't look like scoring at all really and could probably have played on all night with no luck in front of goal. MGP did his disappearance act yet again and was a complete waste of space. I've not been to impressed with Nonda yet and again he didn't do much. Didn't get much joy from Bentley either but then again we didn't seem interested in playing down the wing to much. The most interesting thing though for me was the fact that Hughes prefered a clearly injured and limping Lucas Neill at left back instead of Mickey Gray. Says alot about Gray's standing in the club right now I think...
  21. Have to say, with the price they've put on it, Sony will have to secure something that will totally blow me out of the park for me to even consider getting a PS3. Assassins Creed is the one game I'm really excited about, and that is also headed for the 360 (thank God) so...
  22. I'm surprised so many are dropping Benni to be honest. I just think he is one of the few players we have that has the ability to do something special, to get something from nothing and personally I think that players like that need to stay on, even though they might have had a few lackluster games recently.
