Bit of advice needed. I've just signed a couple of 17 year old playmakers to train up- which is what i've been doing since the start. I've now got 7 central mids. I'm playing 3-5-2 usually, will i be able to train 4 centre mids in a 3-6-1 without ruining the effects of training. this will be done in my friendly.

OUTS
Gray-Not up to Prem standard anymore
Amo- I'm sorry youre too clumsmy and slow
Short- Whether he will retire or not is one thing , but make him a coach or move on
Tugay-Great player at Rovers , but can see him gong back to play in Istanbul
Gresko- A player of great potential ( you don't play for , Bayer, Inter or Parma if you're a mug) but hasn't cut the mustard
Douglas-Not up to prem standards
Emerton- Yes Emerton , if we can get 4mill for him and replace him with i.e Routledge we have Thommo and reidy to fill in also, too inconsistent
Flitty- For the reported wages hees on dosent represent good value any longer -Replace with a younger model
Gally- Im sorry but i've tried with him , he just dosent do it for me, never done anything to suggest he has a prem future
Dickov- thanks for all your efforts paul but you'll turn 34 next year and if rovers want to succeed we will need better quality up front ( not to say i dont like him, because i think he is one of the main reasons while we will stop up, just his age and quality lets him down )
Bothroyd- are u Heskey but 10 times worse
Keep them
Nissa- I think has done a steady jobso keep him
Matty? Im not reminiscing about the old timesI dont think hees been given a fair crack of the whip, whats 1 yr extension gonna hurt, he still gives 110% and is still young ( needs to take a pay cut though )
Can't agree on many points here...
Out: Gray, Amo, Short, Tugay, Bothroyd - fair enough. Too long in the tooth or not good enough.
Gresko needs another chance with a proper left-sided midfielder, which we now have. It would be utterly stupid to spend all that time and money getting his cruciate sorted out, then give him away in the summer. He wouldn't command a very big transfer fee, if any at all.
Douglas showed in the latter stages of 2003/4 that he has the potential to be Premiership standard. How can you say that he isn't on the basis of a handful of appearances this season? Keep him, loan him out if he's not quite in the first team squad.
Emerton. Who's going to pay £4m? For the fee we'd get I think we'd be better off with him in the squad.
Flitty. Blue and white through and through. Would die for the shirt. Combative midfielder who showed yesterday that he can still play a big part.
Gally. Being made a scapegoat for the recent lack of goals. You try playing alongside Dickov. Still has a lot to offer.
Dickov has earned another season.
Keep Jansen? Sentimental claptrap!
Keep Nissa. No problem at all with that. I don't know what the lad has to do to earn a bit of credit.
If we get rid of everyone you suggest we'll have a smaller squad than Burnley! Wierd that just as things start looking up, everyone has to go...
Thanks yorkshire blue- you just saved me a long post:)

AS for Emerton being dropped for Reid? Id rather see Emerton Replace neill at right back and play reid on the right wing. The 2 could link up very well
i thought that too. But then I thought, even though Neills not been playing particularly well- we've only conceded about 13 goals in the last 18. Why start messing around with the defence when its not even necessary.

Richard Witschge - he joins us, he plays for 1 match and messes up our title charge with a completely disinterested performance at West Ham, then he goes around telling everyone what a crap place Blackburn is.
and how he deserves a championship medal- not jason wilcox.

Gutted. My favourite Rovers player. Fell in love with him on his debut. Will always remember his goal. Turned to my dad and said "He looks pretty good doesn't he?" my dad responded with- "He keeps running round in circles beating the same man" Just as he finished that sentence, Matt flicked the ball up, spun with Sol Campbell at his back and volleyed it in the bottom corner. So many great memories of the man. His goal at Cardiff (think he finished top scorer in league cup that season), his goals that got us promoted, his goal at deepdale, his brace against burnley and preston at ewood. The hat trick against arsenal. An absolute joy to watch. I hate Eriksson to this day for the whole thing. Souness was told Matty was going to the world cup- instead he brings in bloody Keown, Matty goes on holiday and the rest is history.

I will be amazed if Hughes does not use the exact same team against Leicester with only two alterations- Savage (if fit) in for Flitcroft and Stead in as a lone striker for Dickov who looks like a long lay off.
I'd usually be disappointed at playing one striker at home, but that seems like the only option. Stead needs to be upfront- and I wouldn't bring Gally in for any of the players who played yesterday. I'd be tempted to stick with Flitty over Savage too. Gives the players the message- "Play well and you keep your shirt"

1. Alan Smith
2. Barry Ferguson
3. El Hadji Diouf
4. Sven Goran Eriksson
5. Alex Ferguson

Played very well yesterday. Has been really unlucky with injuries since he came. I'd give him the nod over Brett at the moment. Really puts himself about, and a great through ball for the goal.
-
I'd just said to my brother, "Surely he can't go all season without getting a single goal?" Then literally 15 seconds later he scored. He's been kidding us on. Just wanted to be the man to save us from relegation again.

How about gettin down to the important stuff ....like play Stead tomorrow!
An excellent choice of banner. Can I have one that says "Win the FA Cup"?

Comment at the bottom that Bothroyd is out for the rest of the season.

Jesus, that was a rough translation

"in truth, that was all it ever was – a dream. Cold, hard facts did not lead on to genuine belief. All four of their midfielders would be ahead of our five in any pecking order. Dickov, Gallagher et al would have been welcome alternatives to Ian Moore up front. Perhaps only our centre halves – McGreal, Sinclair and Cahill – would have realistically threatened to displace their opposite numbers. And then, as four years ago, the depth of quality on the respective benches betrayed the gulf existing on paper between the two squads"
Thats a major diss of Ryan Nelsen!

The background on my computer at work has been changed from Jakki Degg to MGP. It takes something special for me to take Jakki off my screen.
Are you interested in the army by any chance? I hear that they want people like you
Watch it!

Good question- is this MGP the man to finally replace Duff- or the striker we've been looking for? I'd be tempted to keep using him as we are. I think the Beckham style comparisons are fair enough.
Who compared him to Beckham? Presumably the press? He couldn't be more different to Beckham if he tried
I think he's more of a Beckham style player than a Duff player. More likely to put in a great cross than beat the full back I reckon. He's got good delivery on set pieces too. I think he's pretty similar in quite a few respects.

GOD!!
That's the best match report I've read

What really cracks me up is when they sing no-nay-never. Dumb-asses. What they're essentially singing is they'll never be in a league high enough to play us! How stupid are they- hardly something to brag about!

When you get ridiculous and totally OTT comments like these from visiting supporters you know we really must have made one hell of an impression with the noise and atmosphere...
Claret 'n' boo glasses?.......

Not laughed so hard in ages! I was sat in the upper tier of the BBE and could barely hear Burnleys fans all game. I also went to Deepdale on Saturday and Burnleys fans were absolutely silent all game. They've got to find something to try and be cheerful about

I was very impressed with him last night. Didn't put a foot wrong. His reading of teh game was tremendous. Best centre half I've seen at Ewood since Hendry I reckon.

Which one?
Ha Ha!
-
"We're probably favourite's to win, but you never know what is going to happen in the cup, the cup is famous for the lesser teams beating the bigger teams." Morten Gamst Pedersen
Good Lad! That should wind up the Burnley fans.

MGP 4-1 for first goal with ladbrokes. It's not often you see a wingers odds that short. Dickovs 9/2, Stead and other strikers around 5s.

Thanks for that, i'll switch to a 3-5-2 again. I'm going to have to sell one of my more established playmakers to make room for the youngsters I think.
