Yes. i was hidden in the bushes with my camera I have seen players down the years who have been unbelievable in training, both professionals and people I have played with, but dross when it comes to the actual game, which, correct me if I am wrong, is the only game that actually matters. Not some 5-a side kick about. I am basing my opinion on what I have seen in games and heard from mates etc who seen them pre-season, has Yorkie been banging them in????? I think he is just going to continue on his self destructive downward spiral, Matt on the other hand can only improve, fingers crossed. And how can I love a player who when he misses chances??

I would agree that he was one of our best players, and agree again that it doesn't say much. But the again, the view that I take is that he has to have several outstanding games to make up for the dire performances he put in last season, though he is not the only player that applies to. I just look from a defenders perspective, as I am one, and think 'who would I rather not play against, who is going to give me a harder time'. My answer would be Matt everytime. Or dickov. Or Gally. Plus there is the question of attitudes but I am not even going to go into that. Hey, hope yorkie scores a hatful and we have a great season, not saying I am right, just trying to justify my beliefs!! If he performs well, because he does have the talent, then of course he should be in the team. I am just surprised he got the chance in the first place.

Obviously I am just going off what I saw the other night, he could have picked up something between the end of the game and now. However, if he has not picked up a niggle I find it very strange that he has been left out. People could argue that it is best to wait and be sure but when we need a player of his calibre to help us pick up points as soon as possible, well..... He would have destroyed southampton! Just reflected on yesterdays match, was gutted yesterday but am not quite as depressed now! The result was quite poor, least we did not get beat, but it was the performance that was disappointing especially in the first half. The team line up was all over the place, Gresko in centre midfield?????? De Pedro was short of the pace and Matteo made a few mistakes, noticably for their goal albeit they were lucky with the deflection. The same old feeling driving home yesterday The southampton match cannot come soon enough, hopefully Souey will pick a more balanced team and southampton play like they did against villa yesterday. Need those three points as soon as possible!!!!!! Emerton is class, but why does he not show it???????????

Personally I will try and get to games as long as it is humanly possible, got down to a lot last season and was questioning my sanity a lot of the time, driving home to the north east after a home defeat to portsmouth etc....was tempted to veer off the road at times!!!! Have been going to the games since 1991-92 season when my dad used to take me down as a wee bairn, and could not imagine not going anymore, though I know for a lot of people the cost/time issue of travelling to ewood is a major factor to them not going. Hope that tugay4england and the rest of the south west gang go to plenty of games so I can go up with you, and get a few away games in as well. Down bristol from monday looking for a property, just glad that I will still be up here for the game at St James. Just want the season to start now, am optimistic because I have to be!!!
