  1. What a great night, not the best spectacle but our fans were electric, plenty of singing and the boro fans were so quiet. Saying that they had nothing to shout about, boro were AWFUL and I cannot see them performing as bad as that on boxing day. Things were looking bleak as we were missing a few chances, Nelsens header in particular squirming wide. We worked hard, I though Kuqi in particular worked his socks off! It was hard for anyone to stand out as boro did not provide much threat so the defence had an easy time of things. Savage and Tugs ran the show in midfield, Bentley was fairly anonymous but did come into it a bit more in the second half and Pedersen looked a bit short of fitness. Oh yeah, the heavy handed stewards ejected one lad after only 2 mins to the protest of 'it took me 4 hours to get here'!!!! Looking forward to monday now and hopefully the same result.
  2. I have signed up, want to be a part of something that will benefit the club and supporters so was an easy choice. Will not make it down to many meetings because of my location but will do the best I can from the north east to galvanise support!
  3. Be interesting to see how jansen performs, hope he shows that match winning potential!!! I have palpatations everytime I see Matteo's name on the team sheet. Come on lads, make my sunday!!!! Think bentley will get a run in the second half... Prediction? Cards and a few goals, have a bad feeling but if we play as well as we can and everyone performs will win. Depends also on how often the ref will be conned by diouf's antics
  4. If Jenas were to go for a decent price I know most NUFC fans would be more than happy. However, if it is true how much of it would be Souness's fault, or is it Jenas showing more ambition?
  5. Newcastle evening chronicle says it would be a year long loan deal.
  6. Spoke to 6 people who live in Blackburn when I was at work the other day. Guess how many supported Rovers??? Zero
  7. I get the chronicle delivered and the articles made interesting reading, the newcastle fans asking some brutal questions....basically asking why they should have faith in him bearing in mind the state he left our team in and also asking about the role of Mr Dean Saunders!!!! The beauty of the article was Souey was answering questions put forward by the fans and no punches were pulled and souness certainly sat on the fence at times. The chief sports writers, Alan Oliver and John Gibson are honest and fair and even they are concerned by souey's record so far but are saying give him at least next season. a lot of my mates are not waiting that long and have give up their tickets. check this as well, season ticket prices for NUFC have been frozen and as a bonus for the poor season, upon renewal fans get a £10 voucher.......redeemable at shearers bar or the club shop!!!!
  8. Feel the same as many fans on here, a great day out and our fans were superb. The arsenal fans were quiet and especially pre-match nowhere to be seen or heard! On the pitch it just confirmed what we already know, we need a top quality striker, full backs and a creative midfielder. We had a lot of space first half and better passing would have got us through on a couple of occasions. Still in bristol at the minute, waiting for my mates to return from the newcastle game, bet they are Glad I came down for it, my only concern is that the two fans with belts for skirts may have caught a cold, the policeman were perving on them and we had good crack with the police, singing 'sheep, sheep, sheep sh*ggers' and they joked they were going to arrest us. Cannot wait for next season! PS. cheers stuwilky for waking me up when we got back to bristol, had been a long and emotional day!
  9. Leaving shortly, the five hour drive awaits, five hours of pure excitement!!!! Look forward to meeting everyone on the wilkybus tomorrow, please don't BOO me Safe journey to all fans, I can feel a victory coming on... Come on lads!!!!!!!!!
  10. I am staying in Bristol over the full weekend, am lucky to be sharing the petrol costs with 4 of my NUFC supporting mates who I am driving down as well. The prince of wales (wetherspoons) in Cardiff is quality, has a spiral staircase which, if tactically placed below it, you can see what some ladies have had for breakfast if you know what I mean, erm, I heard.... As for the final, will be happy as long as we give a good account of ourselves, nothing worse than under-performing in such a huge game, and losing!!!!! come on rovers, relight my fire!
  11. anybody travelling from the north east or wants a lift to Bristol from up here??? I used to live down there so a stopover on the friday night is a possibilty unless people want to go down on the sat morning instead. pm me or post here if interested!!!!
  12. Anybody know when the tickets would go on general sale?? If I can get one I would be heading down to bristol on the friday, have only just moved back up here!!! Train to cardiff is about £4, not bad....
  13. Crap. absolute pap. We are missing decent strikers and a left back who knows how to play football. Ferguson was toss for us and I am not interested in what he 'could' have done in the next few months, based on evidence he was tripe. would not have got us a goal today. stead back and some much needed corner practice required asap!!! going down......
  14. Brad Friedel 1 Ryan Nelsen 29 Aaron Mokoena 15 Dominic Matteo 22 Lucas Neill 2 Andy Todd 24 David Thompson 20 Brett Emerton 7 Morten Pedersen 12 Robbie Savage 31 Paul Dickov 10 SUBS Nils Johansson 14 Jemal Johnson 28 Peter Enckelman 13 Steven Reid 18 Garry Flitcroft come on boys, no better chance to beat them!!! no stead
  15. Second that, look at how bolton played at stamford bridge this season, chelsea looked vulnerable from dangerous set pieces. ferreira was a definite weak link for them tonight, pedersen should have had more of a go at him.
  16. Disappointed tonight, cannot fault the players trying and our 'special attitude' but the end product is awful. Cannot afford to miss penalties and expect to get something out the game. Or play Matteo and expect to get something out the game...I see he did his speciality of losing the ball in the dying seconds. Worth the admission price alone!!! Nelsen was a colossus, what a JAW!!! Thommo was poor and we needed him to be on hot form and Dickov tried but bring back Stead or Jansen to partner him please. or Shearer, I wish. Rennie was bad as usual but did us a lot of favours which was nice of him. I see Pandiani scored tonight
  17. Night Al, think we will all be dreaming of having a better team and signing a roy of the rovers type player. Then we will wake up to the reality that is Jay Bothroyd
  18. This is like the countdown to new years eve....or maybe doomsday
  19. Should I expect to see any burning Fergy effigy's at the chelsea match? good riddance to bad rubbish I say, hope like the rest of us that we got an excellent deal out of it.
  20. slap in a £5 million bid for deano saunders, he can get us the goals to see us retain our premiership status if we can get dalian atkinson too even better.....
  21. I was to angry last night to post, I might have said something which i may have had to rely on in court For the record I did come back and hurled my mates wallace and gromit cup of the floor, being the nearest thing I could grab, and it smashed into smithereens!!! Pity it wasn't Diouff's skull but there you go. Think everyone has summed him up, cheat, idiot etc and Nolan and Allardyce can go to hell as well. Or Bolton for that matter, what a scabby team. I was even more upset by our own inept performance, our forwards in particular were awful. Bothroyd is crap fullstop. Bag of tricks???? He has lost the bag then!!!!! Stead gets worse by the second though at least he has the talent and Gally was non existent. Our defence was solid enough though Bolton were hardly the attack minded team. Midfield as a whole were average. We must have the worst set pieces in the league!!!! Good idea piling everyone in the goal for the corners though a bit of variation would have been nice. Could someone not have pulled out of there into the penalty spot position and the ball be aimed there, Sheringham style along the floor or whatever. ANYTHING!!!!! As long as we play Matteo we deserve nothing from any game. 'Go on Dom, whip it in, last chance, place it in the mixer, go on Dom, go on Dom, GO ON D.............ah damn it'
  22. Matteo Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!! still think we will win though the silky skills of Di Matteo will have nothing to do with that. Hope Bothroyd has a stormer, am yet to be convinced by him and would have had stead in there preferably. ah well, COME ON BOYS!!!!!! get into em......bum bum bum bum......get into em......
  23. well done lads matteo woeful? surely not!!!!!!! GRAY GRAY GRAY please
  24. agree Le Chuck, Thommo is ten times the player ferguson is and as for Matteo.... perhaps he can team up with fergy and run a pub up in glasgow called 'the loaf and bottler'
