Sharpe says he’s not ducking the questioning of Mowbray on the need for defenders. But I’m yet to see he or anyone else quiz him properly on the 180 he’s done from season end to now where we’re supposedly ‘defensively alright’. Did Mulgrew, Bell and Bennett turn into Baresi, Maldini and Costacurta over the summer? Because evidence would suggest they haven’t.

Can't see anything changing soon with our current set-up. Venus handling all transfers/negotiations with clubs etc. He's a coach FFS. Beyond amateur.

How did he not realise this before yesterday though? That’s why I think it’s unforgivable even if, God forbid, he went and brought in 2-3 new defenders and another goalkeeper this week.

He's not even learnt from his mistakes at Coventry, let alone us! Cannot fathom how he thought this bunch would be okay after shipping 69 goals last season. I posted it in the match thread, but IMO he doesn't really deserve the chance to rectify it before the window shuts. If he couldn't see our biggest problem following last season then he's not good enough to be the manager of our club.

Personally struggling to see how he deserves the chance to. If 69 goals against and the worst away defensive record in the football league didn't tell him the we needed a minimum of 3 new defenders BEFORE the season started, then nothing will.

You're gonna be in for a frustrating season as I'll bet he's played there loads more - that's where TM was largely using him when he managed him last time. Sick and tired of Mowbray tonight, really am.

If he genuinely thinks Mulgrew, Bennett and Bell are good enough for a team aspiring for the top 6 then he needs potting on the spot. No changes at HT either. Really does wind me up this man.
