Yep - the going rate for decent defenders now is extremely high, even for the championship. He said recently that there was a decent budget regardless of the Raya sale, so let’s see it go on a proven centre half Tony.

I agree by the way; this City kid alone isn't going to suddenly sure up our back-line. We're still a Lenihan injury (more than conceivable given his previous) away from being utterly screwed IMO.

Certainly looks as though Tony is throwing his eggs in the ‘Lenihan will stay fit’ basket. He’s the only one of his type that we have.

IF the plan is to play Lenihan/Tosin at centre half down the line when Tosin is up to speed, then boy does Lenihan really have to step up this season. He was certainly doing that towards the end of the season - particularly when he had the armband for a couple games, but it's still a big ask.

Yeah...kid can play anywhere by all accounts but has largely played RB in pre season. I'd take him over Bennett and I've not even seen him play there!
