I had a feeling on the 1st of February that Broughtons nativity in the transfer market would cost us and I honestly believe with a striker and O’brien we’d be closer to 2nd than 7th!
I can’t see us having the consistency needed to get over the line!

Bloody hell, you really rate O'Brien!
To be fair I truly believe he could have been the difference. Still can’t believe a striker wasn’t signed!
GB and his incompetent team have cost us any chance of play offs.

Broughton explained the situation and it's one that we have accept it the circumstances which happened during the transfer window. We will learn lessons from it and get better equipped for the next one
We absolutely don’t have to accept it. He may have pulled the wool over some of the more gullible eyes but we still didn’t sign a striker and botched our biggest signing since Jordan Rhodes.
The Rochdale lads paperwork got botched too……2 mistakes out of 2 signings! How?? I thought id have calmed down by now but……..seems I haven’t!

Adam Wharton, and Batty.
2 players who came through the academy and fully expected to stay though! Hardly ground breaking.

The transfer side is a portion of what he does, not all he does.
He’s the head of the footballing operations at the club; the recruitment of the lad from the Welsh FA was one example of a positive step, in terms of player development.
The transfer windows have been disappointing; the one just gone moreso than any in recent memory. Nobody is disputing that.
But to focus in on GB - and the work he’s doing to try and progress and improve our club - instead of the deep rooted weeds like Pasha, Waggott and Sylvester is baffling.
To try and make out like he’s been an unmitigated disaster at this stage, even moreso.
To be fair I’m basing it on a chance encounter after the PNE game and the pure arrogance he showed towards a group of us.
I think he promises a lot but delivers very little. He talks well but he has a hell of a lot to prove before he changes my mind.

What has happened before? Failing to sign a player because we bungled the paperwork? Maybe just on deals that we never heard about, but I'm sure it's never been out in public before. If we have form for it, we have zero chance in that appeal. And if the same person who botched it previously is still here, that's unforgiveable. The EFL staff have managed to read our forms properly and check for mistakes, and they're doing it for a lot more deals than we are.
Apparently it has happened in 2 consecutive windows in the past and was never leaked. It has to have been over 2 years ago.

I know, such a bad comment…. This transfer window he has failed big style, he knows that.
I wouldn’t say tying down numerous key youngster to long contracts as a “disaster”
Who exactly has he tied down? Phillips can be the only one that may have been tough. All the others were formalities. Half of them will be squad players at Best.
Broughton has done nothing but talk a good game since he come. He’s not utilised our foreign scouting network and not one signing has had any imagination about it.

I’ve also been told today by an ex employee that this isn’t the first time this has happened. In fact this has happened twice before……😐

I think the worse thing about this shit show is not only have we lost out on one of the biggest signings in the past 10 years but the fact this facade has turned the fan base slightly toxic again, probably at the worst time possible.
I can’t believe after last year’s January failure we are sat here one year on reflecting on a January that was 10 times worse. The appointment of GB was supposed to negate all these cockups.- 2

We can't just start taking Nixons word as gospel surely?
Gregg said he'll disclose the reasons next week if they ask him, so lets see if he does.
It’s got to the state where I’d take Nixons word over GB’s. Someone has to be held responsible for this absolute debacle.

JDT is certainly not happy. I thought he’d go down the “we were unlucky” he certainly knows where the blame lies and he’s fuming!
-
I’m on the side of the fence where I’m not taking the Bullshit GB is giving out! There is no excuse. Like I’ve said before I’ve been unfortunate enough to meet him and the facade he puts on in front of the camera isn’t fooling me.
I believe just through his pure arrogance he thinks after his interview everything will be forgiven and forgotten!!

In fairness, the signing of Hyam and the new contracts for A.Wharton and Phillips have justified his first few months at the club.
But there's no getting from what's just happened under his watch.
The fact that the 3 things you have mentioned are seen as “achievements” says everything we need to hear!!
He has given 2 academy lads contracts and signed a centre half that we desperately needed. This is the bare minimum expected in his role. We have come to expect mediocrity and accept it!

Fair play to Nixon, don’t always agree with him but he’s saying it how it is! It’s a complete disgrace that they’ve let it get anywhere near 11pm!
What is John Williams up to?

I would be keen to know who’s at fault. I like the work GB has/had done before this window. If one of those loans strikers happened maybe this all wouldn’t be as bad. But yes at the end of the day it didn’t so questions need to be asked.
The blame for me falls with Waggot. JDT & GB IMO need to stay otherwise we will be in even more sh*t.
I honestly think the “work” Broughton has done is being over exaggerated. What exactly has he done? All our signings have been obvious signings with very little imagination.
I had the misfortune of meeting him and he was rude and arrogant. The BBD saga is a joke also.

Surely the PFA can step in and do something? A suspended 10 point deduction or something like that.
This should then be followed by the resignations of both rats SW and GB.

Get rid of Broughton and Waggott! All month to sort it out! They are incompetent and and don’t give two hoots about the club or the fans!

He defiantly hasn’t been a disaster since he started. He’s done well to tie down the youngsters. I will agree he has failed here though with or without O’brien.
Meanwhile BBD has gone on a free. Tying Vale down wasn’t exactly a stroke of genius. All our signings haven’t exactly been imaginative……he’s hardly found any diamonds.

Greg Broughton has been a disaster since he started, talks a good game but has done absolutely nothing. The step to DOF looks like it was a few steps to far.

Who’s head roles for this debacle?

DOF……..what a load of shit he’s been.

Lewis O’brien would be a huge signing. Comfortably the best CM in the Championship last season. Not sure I trust the hierarchy to see it through though!
-
24 hours to see how ambitious SW, GB and the Venkys are. If we fail to get quality in tomorrow we are writing another season off.
what is the point in Broughton? What has he prouder to the party?

I wouldn’t say “well adrift” as a win would more than likely see them both in the play offs. But I agree we need to find some form as draws are t enough anymore. The strikers need to stand up and be counted. They need to be more of a threat.
