  1. Good win. Watford are poor but so is much of the championship. Still think the squad is thin but the first 15 or so look good enough for this level.
  2. Kargbo bad touch gives it away at the top of the box, then rides Ba into the box…lucky it’s not a penalty since he fouls Ba both in and out of the box
  3. Can’t afford to have him out long term.
  4. Promising stuff from Gudjohnson in his first few minutes
  5. That’s a penalty all day.
  6. Tavares “shot” there was a wee bit ambitious
  7. It’s really the concerning aspect of the side. Not much to bring on
  8. Definitely on the front foot to start the half.
  9. Get in! Nice little flick by Ohashi to see it through and well finished.
  10. Can’t help but think this is what a match between two relegation contending sides looks like in the first 5 games of the season.
  11. Wharton our most dangerous attacker here.
  12. That sequence highlights the unsolved issues up front. We don’t have anyone who can drive at the defense to create a chance and end up playing in crosses to players that don’t do well finishing crosses.
  13. Good cross field pass there.
  14. Stark contrast between the work rate of Travis and Tavares who seems to just walk around the pitch.
  15. Good hit there none the less.
  16. I’ve seen him pass when looking and it’s not much better
  17. Now do league one where we will be in 12 months time
  18. Resigning Dennis. Didn’t he look “great for this level”
  19. Sounds like a role for another former player. What’s MGP up to?
  20. Heard some where we can only recall in January.
  21. For about 18 months there we looked and operated like a normal club. We had an ambitious coach and a dof who had experience putting sides together. I do think had it lasted we would have been promoted but after the first season it was clear JDT and GB were being lied to and the project they signed up for became something entirely different. Promotion aspirations quickly changed to stay up and blood in the youth.
  22. He also was responsible for both O’Brian Brierley, and McGuire debacles. He took responsibility for them, though not sure they were directly his doing. What’s clear though is he walked into a club with a functioning recruitment department as those three signings were already targets upon his arrival. There were big steps taken to expand our scouting network but few of the international signings under him were successful. Siggy, Telalovic the biggest disappointments. GB suffered from the same challenges as others, budget restraints, disconnected owners, and a fan base that has been ignored. While probably not completely his fault, he’s the one that saw the sale of Wharton and Phillips for well below market values.
  23. And that would then solve the Tavares issue. The issue being he shouldn’t be on the pitch.
