  1. Why not just ignore FUP and build a super club in spite of the rules? Nottingham Forest meet Football League to discuss FUP embargo First article offers an interesting if somewhat unlikely way to combat FUP if it takes more time to collapse completely. The owner of Forest personally met up with the Football League whereas Rovers probably sent Derek Shaw...enough said. Galatasaray are also appealing their European suspension.
  2. Here's the Sports Shield website...can't say the content particularly impresses me however glossy it might look. http://www.sportsshield.co.uk/ What's the tax rules in the Isle of Man (?) since people have accused Davies of using BWFC as a tax writeoff. Thought it was the same as Jersey but might have somehow mixed it up with Pokerstars and gambling "offshore" laws. Seneca aren't specifically a sports investment company of course but they might have had similar issues here with backers "in and out".
  3. Not concrete at all but seems like it was actually better than the other options! I heard one of the Sports Shield backers had pulled out so has the whole thing collapsed now? Nixon stated that the football league even said they would keep an eye on Sports Shield which says a lot about their tests!
  4. I'm certainly no fan of the 2nd best Ronaldo but how ridiculous is this? The "prestige" of Real Madrid where you can get booed for no reason. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/03/09/cristiano-ronaldo-booed-by-his-own-fans/ Obviously the money there is a factor but there's plenty of clubs you can make big money and not be treated like that. Says a lot when you leave United for a club where the fans are even more outrageous with their demands. Maybe Dunn should tell Real to "get real" lol.
  5. Some breaking news in relation to the Platini/Blatter "financial unfair play".
  6. Hardly a surprise is it? If Shane had been there he probably would have had 10-15 minutes to say whatever and that would have been it for the night.
  7. Forest players and staff not been paid... http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/Championship-Pay-delay-Nottingham-Forest-players/story-28838034-detail/story.html
  8. Read somewhere he actually used a blood capsule rather than "blading" but it still breaks the "no blood policy." I'm not that bothered if there's blood generally but for cage/cell matches there should be. I'm surprised they haven't introduced "first nosebleed" after somehow managing to "water down" an inferno match. Speaking of first blood remember a match with HHH on one of the old Smackdown games. Bell rings, eyerake, HHH is the winner lol! Apparently they have intentionally been edgier recently and plan to be until WM at least. Examples being the blood, Vince cursing on Raw and Goldust having an accident with a champagne bottle. (use your imagination lol)
  9. Might watch RAW for first time in a while tonight as I've heard the Undertaker will be there.
  10. Infantino wins FIFA election but at least he's out of UEFA. Hopefully he won't try and enforce some form of FIFA FUP. (Not that there hasn't been FUP aka general corruption at FIFA for years) https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/infantino-goes-stop-gap-footballs-most-powerful-man-170548669--sow.html
  11. Dave Meltzer (major wrestling journalist) says Shane tried to purchase a "major soccer team" in the UK but didn't manage to get the financing together. He's certainly rich but as David Gold pointed out in his free website autobiography there's a difference between being "cash rich" and "asset rich." Jack Walker became "mega cash rich" after selling Walkersteel at the right time. I would imagine Shane's personal worth is probably well into the 8 figure range but that could include WWE stock, investments, etc. There was a rumor about Vince buying Newcastle a few years ago. Complete snobbery from the person who responded to that rumor too. Did a quick search on google and Meltzer said a couple of years ago they may have confused Vince with Shane. No reason to make it up so its probably true Shane had a look at Newcastle.

  13. There's different kinds of organised crime syndicates like the ones featured in this case... http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/10176929/sepp-blatter-and-michel-platini-expected-to-lose-appeals-against-eight-year-bans
  14. Or anyone else since who's been the subject of a major takeover though too many fans play the "hate" card. United scoring a full scale victory with FUP would be their ultimate revenge over clubs like Rovers who have stood up to them. Every club should fight it but Rovers should be near the very top if not at the very top. I don't want to rant about Jack's wishes but there couldn't be the slightest justification to suggest he wouldn't be vehemently anti-FUP. In all fairness not like I had flowers flown to his gravesite and made a huge deal of it by plastering it all over a website for PR purposes. Of course United complain about other clubs having benefactors yet whine when the Glazers milk them for profit. No punches pulled with this headline...though it is a few months old... Manchester United owners the Glazer family are 'the evil of football', say Sunday Supplement panel Once again mentioning the bleaker prospects of Newcastle, Villa, Everton, etc in being taken over. Since the foundations of FUP were laid in 2009 its no wonder Anderson was hired (perhaps in 2009 and definitely in 2010) to seek buyers for Rovers. Of course Rothschild were appointed earlier and that didn't really seem to lead anywhere. I know people might not like me dragging the thread up (though its not like I'm posting 10+ times a day in this thread) but FUP is nothing short of a cancer to football. If this had happened in the early 90's hopefully Jack would have sued the hell out of them in the very highest supreme European courts. I wish Abramovich, Mansour, etc would team up and blow the crooked cretins apart. WE HATE FUP, SAY WE HATE FUP! WE HATE TWATINI, SAY WE HATE TWATINI!
  15. Platini blamed for FIFA awarding the 2022 World Cup to Qatar. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/6944446/Sepp-Blatter-Dont-blame-me-blame-Michel-Platini-for-Qatar-World-Cup-farce.html
  16. Shane Duffy considers Grant Hanley performer of the season thus far. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/14289358.Shane_Duffy__Grant_Hanley_has_been__head_and_shoulders__above_every_other_Blackburn_Rovers_player/?ref=mac
  17. Some thoughts here from Charlton's unpopular owner... http://www.southlondon-today.co.uk/article.cfm?id=116220&headline=Exclusive:%20Charlton%20owner%20Roland%20Duchatelet%20-%20Financial%20Fair%20Play%20spending%20change%20is%20a%20disaster&sectionIs=sport&searchyear=2016
  18. Well at least anyone who signs Milner will get effort and versatility. I could argue Liverpool would have been stupid not to sign him. Shame people like Sheikh Mansour and Abramovich haven't teamed up and assembled a dream team of lawyers to crush FUP once and for all. I won't be happy until its gone completely simply "relaxing" it isn't good enough. Perhaps the likes of Villa fans can stage a protest outside UEFA HQ as well since FUP is a major reason nobodies bought them in the first place.
  19. Pacquiao not being seen as such a great guy these days. Nike have dropped his sponsorship due to these comments. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/boxing/6938620/Manny-Pacquiao-is-dropped-by-sponsors-Nike-after-describing-gay-couples-as-worse-than-animals.html He was also sued earlier this year (not sure of the outcome whatever it was) for failing to disclose an injury. Pacquiao topped Mayweather in a televised poll the night of their fight but clearly popularity isn't always the same as ability. At least Mayweather has never pretended to be a "great guy" unlike Pacquiao.
  20. Lets hope next season there will be a promotion thread. Definitely don't think so either unless there's an injury list comparable to 98/99. Or comparable to this one like United have at the moment. Can't remember if it was mentioned on here but Wigan Athletic look to be taking over Bolton's training ground facilities aside from their academy. It does not seem like Wigan have had the problems that have crippled Bolton. They still have parachute payments though (giving them an advantage in League 1) and presumably subsidising from Whelan still. Unlike Bolton with Davies. Apparently former United/Chelsea CEO Peter Kenyon is working with Tamraz on the deal. At some point he was (and maybe still is) working with Middlesbrough in an advisory capacity. Reportedly he's also transformed Atletico Madrid's finances for money making potential. Seem to recall a thread linking him to Rovers (quite a while ago now) was there any truth in that as far as an advisory position?
  21. Eddie Davies (owner) seems to be favoring Roger Tamraz (according to Nixon) and there's several question marks over him. Criminal history, over 70, etc. Davies shockingly spoke this past week (makes Paul Egerton-Vernon look like a loudmouth in comparison) but Tamraz hardly seems to be protecting Gartside's legacy. Whatever that was in all due respect to the dead.
