  1. On the contrary he must stay.

See you in the 1st div next season.

Would love to see it (and Leeds) and see how you handle the real world without the sky money

But there are no guarantees that you will be there to greet us are there.  I mean if your borrowed team goes back from whence they came what do you have left.

  2. What about that Rangers manager, far and away best manager up there, perhaps he can get more out of Barry Ferguson.

And there he shows his ignorance.  Anyone who thinks Alex McLeish is fit to lace Martin O'Neill's boots isn't a football fan.

However, that said and realising that Martin O'Neill would never look at a club like us, Alex McLeish wouldn't be a bad choice.  He's young, had relatively good ideas.  I wouldn't have a problem with him.

Not a football fan huh?  You are right, I am a big fan of fishing and I hooked you big time.

Alex McLeish may not have as long a track record as O'Neill but has done a good job in getting Rangers back to being Scotlands number one football team.

  3. Another thought: ever since we were promoted Souness has said our priority is survival.

Perhaps Rovers disappointed him by finishing tenth and sixth over the past two season when what he really wanted was a good old muck and nettles relegation fight.

Well he certainly has got his wish now.

jim, I don't usually resort to this but quit being an idiot.  Your personal vendetta against Souness cos of what happened with your kid is ridiculous.

Does your son know how you are reacting to that?  If so I am sure he is embarrassed.  Not very good life lessons you are giving there jim.

  4. Lose to Leicester?  It could well happen, as I mention elsewhere, we seem to be playing the "lesser" teams immediately after they have been embarrassed, spurs them on.  If our lot think they can just show up and win then as waggy says, we are doomed.
  5. Mark Hughes, Chris Coleman, Mickey Adams

Those are for starters- without looking at lower division managers who should be given the chance.

Why not Gary Megson- He did the best he could with limited resources at West Brom- NIgel Worthington

Off the top of my head

What about that Rangers manager, far and away best manager up there, perhaps he can get more out of Barry Ferguson.

  6. :rover: to be honest, after watching the premiership and today's game, well every game this season minus pompey away,i would not shed a tear if souey was sacked, resigned or left by mutual consent.

today's tactic's were pathetic, the summer signing's were poor, and we are losing fans in droves. :brfc:

And bringing in manager X would be a guarantee of fixing all that waggy?

Rubbish we would get a new manager, he'd lose a couple of games and  these CM player fans would be after his head, they'd all be crying "why'd we ever get rid of Souness".

I do agree though, Mr Williams needs to sit down with Souness and find out what he plans to do.  Perhaps even have him answer some of the fans questions about his tactics and playing players out of position.

Hang in there Graeme you can do it, and if we are bottom at Christmas, then Feck off. (just kidding)

  7. soueys record since becoming our manager..

    promotion

    worthington cup winners

    2 european campaigns

    a top six finish

these are the reasons why idiotic threads such as this @#/? people off.

    ROVERS FOREVER

    So?

Does this mean Rovers can never get a new manager no matter what ?

I, like Rover6, am sick and tired of "Lady Luck", "On another day", "We did enough to get something from the match" etc.

I think the lineups looks like something pulled out of a hat.

We´ve lost 5 of 9 pl matches, 4 of 5 at home, and are out of Europe straight away.

9 matches and 1 point off the dropzone.

Who cares what happened 1,2 or 10 seasons ago ?

    Go on. Kill me.

So after three very succesful campaigns you would fire him for losing half a dozen matches, pathetic.

  8. Firstly, let me introduce myself. I am the infamous Jason Whalley that you have written so 'eloquently' about and having being given a tip off from a friend some time ago felt I should have a right to reply on some of the aforementioned comments.

I am not a friend or relative of Andy Neild or indeed anyone at the LET, I was asked to do the column and I said yes, simple as that. I am sorry things did not work out for regular poster Simon but I wasn't to know the circumstances surrounding his departure. May I wish Simon well, it takes bottle to put your name and face to your views and I give him the utmost respect for that.

I do not go to all away games because I have a young family. I informed Paul Plunkett of this when the offer was made and he was quite happy with this fact. Yes, I could have gone to the Chelsea game and all the others for that matter but I could also be paying child support and seeing my kids only on a Sunday. BTW I wont be at Portsmouth either.

If you don't agree with my opinions, fine, that's the great thing about football, we all have opinions and no-one can always claim to be right but all I can say is that the personal feedback I've had has been good and not just from friends either. That's what made it somewhat sobering to read some of the replies on this thread !!

Good on you coffeeman, you think the last article was 'rubbish'. Yes, I did talk of only ten men, Lucas costing us the game etc., but I also expressed concern about the wider picture regarding Lucas's discipline and also touched on defensive communication possibly not being the best. Then again that's your opinion and you're free to dish it out. If you think the 'slating' of Lucas was bad you should have seen the unedited version.

That's all for now, may you all continue to have your say and at the end of the day let's all remember, we all want the same thing and that's for Rovers to do well. And for anyone who wants to publicly lambast me, I can be found in Uncle Jack's before and after home games and I sit on row 19 seat 130 odd in the Blackburn End.

    Best Regards to all.

Welcome Mr Whalley, good of you to join us.  First let me say, I commented that you slated Neill, you did, so what?  I never implied that it was bad to do so or that the article was rubbish, those were the words of a subsequent poster who put those words in my mouth, so to speak.

In actual fact my comment WAS intended to be more complimentary.  Some on here have commented that you were too bland, perhaps politically correct.  Clearly there was little PC in your lambasting of Neill, and hence my question, is that more like it.

You have a difficult job, as Revidge did before you, you mention that we all have our opinions this is true but I hope you find that you have the intestinal fortitude when some of the folks on here are voicing theirs.

    Good Luck.

  9. A slating of Lucas Neill that some would be proud of.  Is that more like it?

SCUMmings, a quick speed read, seems like he did not even mention the game.  If he did not go how can he be so irate with the facilities.  regardless of how poor, it has to be more than the clarrots deserve.

BTW, Sam, how was the "pure football" from the clarrots tonight.  Refs fault again was it?

The only thing you lot whined about more than ITV digital last season was the bloody refs, only when you lost though.

  10. surely a "Revidge Reveals (or Rants, or Raves, or Remembers, or Reasons) could get a page on here somewhere ?

Seems a reasonable idea as long as we are allowed to reply. :)

Thanks but no thanks, we can get our fill of "What's wrong at Blackburn Rovers" with revidges everyday posts.

Must say I really enjoyed Mr Whalleys write up this week.  Upbeat with well put "concerns".  Surely more the style that our local club would like to see printed in our local paper than the incessant berating of all things Blue and White.

Some of you folks have short, nostalgia based memories.  "At least Revidge went to the games".  At least this fella let us know clearly, up front, that he did not attend.  I seem to remember Rev coming in for some stick for not attending the City game in Manchester.  Manchester-London.  Mmmm.

  11. Jason Whalley has written 2 columns so far, I'd give him time to settle before its fair to criticise him.   Revidge didnt always get it right, and perhaps the sports teams are editing his columns like they did with Simons.   That said they are a bit bland at the moment, and he has a lot to live up to.

As for how he lost the column - Revidge must have upset the sports team somehow.

Perhaps he told Andy Neild that you don't need a work visa to report on the Washington DC game.   :)

I think TND is right, Simon touched a nerve at the wrong time, I remember being quite angry at him too at the time.  Credit to him for saying it like he saw it.

  12. In this week's column, Mr Whalley started off by talking about his attractive girlfriend running off with someone else. (I was not quite sure if Jason still had his problematic love life on the brain, when he went on in his column to describe the importance of 'good penetration'.)

    Hah Hah good one..

For those not happy with the switch, it is as easy to voice your displeasure to the LET as it is to gripe about it on here.

  13. I can't beleive S.CUMmmings is there still and Rev is not.  Surprised S.CUMmings has not mentioned it.

I think rev just put it like he felt it, "A Fans View"  unfortunately as time progressed it would seem it was not the view the LET wanted.  I had "issues" with some of Revs articles too, we did chat about it so it's not like I'm having ago.

Personally I think Rev is well shut of 'em, now he can just enjoy the games without wondering about what to write.  If we have a bad day on the field he can go drown his sorrows and put it behind him instead of having to re-hash the whole horrible event for a column.

  14. Am I more drunk than I thought or did the rovers visiting Washington etc thread vanish?

I see some updates on pre season friendly's, Dublin, Wigan, here but no US news.  Is it a go or a bust or just omitted.  Or could it possibly be a Heineken induced mirage was the whole Washington thing a figment of my imagination.  If I dreamt it it sure seemed real.  Then again my recent visit to Vegas seems dreamlike, F#$k now I am confused.
