  1. Just got back from the Mountains, watched the game on video I was absolutley stunned still shell shocked.  Why is Heskey allowed anywhere near an England shirt?

What was he thinking, Carragher back pass terrible, but that's us for you.

Carragher backpass? Were you watching the right game?

Oops Gerrard, I mix them two up a lot.

  2. I was actually hoping someone might cheer me up with some news or views that would make me feel better, quite the opposite in fact lol.

i'll just have to console myself with the lovely algarve sunshine and the footie that starts tomorrow at the bottom of my hill smile.gif

You could go a long way to cheering yourself up, for a start SHUT UP. Then go and mingle with your own kind.

  3. We thought losing Duff was a huge blow. This wouldnt be far behind. When Tugay doesnt play, Rovers don't play. If he goes, we've got enormous problems.

I Know T4E thinks Tugay is a god but bloody hell , Duffer and Tugay in same quality league, nah sorry, maybe if they were the same age but PLEASE,.

Yeah he is good on his day when he plays 100% but that aint happened as often this season, maybe he's gettin too old to hack it week in week out.

    sad.gif

You know I think he's a God? I've never spoken to you in my life, you have no idea what I think.

I stand by that point. I said "not far behind". Duff was fantastic when he was on top form, and he could have a lot of influence. But he was a left winger, and our record without him when he was a Rovers player was pretty good.

Tugay is the heart of almost everything we do, but at the moment we dont have anyone to replace him. The jury is out on Ferguson, and we need another season to decide if he can take his place.

For now, the re-signing of Tugay is essential.

Tugay and Duff in the same class? I'll have what you are having. Ooopps sorry you said quality league, not sure what you mean by that but I think I have an idea what you are getting at and I still disagree. But thats OK.

  4. Jury is out for me on Toogs. He was a shadow of himself last season compare to the previous seasons, mind you I did see one or two sweet passes to set up Andy Cole for goals. Tugay looked all the world to me like a footballer suffering from complete burnout last season.

I feel it had something to do with the Euro 2004 campaign, almost seemed to take his enthusiasm for the game away. Many times his facial expressions and body language seemed to show that he was not really enjoying himself.

Hopefully with his international retirement and some quality rest this off season he can come back refreshed and hungry for action and show us he can still be the World class player we know and love.

  5. Like I wrote a couple of days ago - if Blackburn wants MGP the club will have to pay 2.5 mill pounds and let him play in Tromsø until oct/nov. Tromsø is not in a hurry to sell, everybody expects Morten to be even hotter after the qualifications for the WC this autumn. As a matter of fact the whole thing is up to MGP himself, and let me tell you a "secret": He has been a ManUnited fan since he was a kid, and his dream is actually to play for them... mad.gif

New information from the Tromsø board room or/either the pubs of Tromsø will follow...

Yeah right, way too steep for a prospect. Only way I would do 2.5 MIl for a player I think is being way way overrated is if he came with a one year money back guarantee.

  6. Leicester  city?

    Portsmouth?

    West Brom?

    Blackburn rRovers?

    Everton?

    Birmingham?

Absolutely nothing to do with Pedersen. Odd one out is Everton. I do believe they are the only team in that list NOT to have played Nationwide football this Millenium. Don't know if it's the answer being looked for but it is true, I think.

  7. In my opinion there's two ways at looking at the reasons why he has signed and what reflection this has on our club one is naturally positive while the other negative:

A: he's chosen us over 8 other premiership club because he feels we are the best.

B: he feels that our competition for places is not as strong as the others and he'll play more football with us.

    C. He thinks look at how long Yorke's been there doing nothing for his money, I'll have some of that please.

  8. How about sending one of our youngsters out there to help them finish the season strongly, whilst we take Pedersen. Not sure how Jerome Watt etc. would mind missing a chunk of their summer break - but it's not as if they've played much this season.

Doesn't Jemal Johnson play wide left, send him. We can compare apples to apples then, if young Jemal starts to tear things up in Norway we may want to reconsider this deal, since Jemal is deemed not good enough for our 1st team.

  9. I've said it before and I'll say it again, he won't cut it at PL level.

He was poor in an extremely poor Norwegian side against a Welsh B team.

Some MB members are in serious danger of getting their hopes up to such an extent that when Pedersen brings them crashing down it will register on the Richter scale.

Tromso's star player? Might as well be captain of Moorland's 5th year team.

Like I said, to put things in true perspective let's remember Martin Andresen was Norway's player of the year, this lad is still considered a prospect, I have big doubts myself that he will make the step up.

  10. Can't blame Alan Smith one bit. Loyalty is nice but at what cost, if you are ambitious then surely there is a fine line between loyalty and plain old stupidity. He's a young man with the cahnce of a great future why oh why would he want to waste it, he wants to pit himself against top players and play with top players no shame in that.

  11. USA, I can't be arsed to go on really. And btw, I said exactly what you did, that the previous post was rubbish. And if I (according to you) don't believe everyone has a right to say what they want, then you certainly don't either. Anyway, you think you made some good point there, I disagree. Lets leave it at that.

I did not mean to say you did not think everyone had a right to say what they want. If it came across that way it was not intended. Yes let's leave it at that.

I have doubts this Pedersen thing is going to happen either, it's been too well publicised and I think Tromso are posturing for more money.

  12. He had to go really. They've gone backwards since winning the 3 cups in 2001. When you look at all of his signings, it's a wonder it's taken so long.....

Bloody Hell, that's an awful lot of Money. If we bought the title, Houllier spent enough to win a couple. I always liked the fella until the Neill- Carragher incident. Actually I had started going off him a bit after hearing his comments after that horrific lunge by Gerrard.

Never mind Gerrard, Burnley are hiring.

  13. A lot of people gave their lives to make  sure you had a choice of speaking English.  Still, if you are so ashamed perhaps you think we should have thrown in the towel in WWII.  At least then we could be speaking German AND another language.

Never read a bigger load of tripe in my life.  What about the football, mods will you shut this crap down or move it if they want to go on about other stuff.

Besides a lot of English people speak foreign languages, Indian and Pakistani, Iraqi, Iranian, Bosnian and more than the odd bit of Chinese, to name but a few.

I had a really good response to this load of crap, but I figured the mods wouldn't like it very much.

And how ironic to have someone needlessly bring WW2 into this, make a nonexistent point, and then urge people to gon on topic? After which he goes off topic yet again...

Goes to show what people will respond to. Obviously I felt the need to bring that into things. You feel differently, we are allowed to do that, and say that and write that. Understand? Somehow doubt it.

You might not see the link, no one else might see the link, hell everyone else might think I'm nuts, I don't care (oops am I off topic) Pedersen (back on) Going off topic again, yes you got me wrapped up into the silly goings on about languages, sorry, what about Pedersen.

Well you are the one writing the tripe- none of those you name are languages laugh.gif

Then please oh omniscient one, educate me. Next you will be saying Lancy twang is not English.

BTW I understand that not all the languages are named after the country of origin, I was just trying to keep it simple.

  15. Not that its relevant but i agree totally with the languages thing. Yes some of us can speak more than one other language, but not enough of us. It makes me ashamed to be english. sad.gif

  16. Well if we miss out on Pederson we've only ourselves to blame after announcing we were going to bid for two players nearly a week ago (one of whom was obviously Pederson) thereby issuing an open invitation to other clubs to steam in and spoil the party.

The only news that should have come out was after the deal had been done and dusted.

It's getting scary this Rev, I beleive I indicated the same on another thread.

  17. Apart from the fact that Yorke has been a big time under achiever I think that his mere presence has been a major negative distraction for Cole.

Think about it, Cole was good until Dwight came and then came the lack of effort the attitude problems and the clear look of not giving a toss. Once it became clear that Yorke was finished at this club Andy's whole game improved, of course this could be attributed to the emergence of Gally and Stead too.

I think the theory has some credibility, Yorke brought down Cole's game and his work ethic and heightened his attitude problems.

Towards the end of the season I thought Andy Cole was doing very well on and off the ball, now if he could just figure out how to beat offside traps better (or the players passing the ball can learn the timing of Andy's runs better) I think we can expect good things from Andy next season.
