[Archived] Yorke To Celtic, No Brum.
USABlue replied to Ste B's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Obviously. Jim, how can you say Dickov is too old at 31 ? Oh wait it's because you're a moaning git. Should players just be dragged out and kneecapped on their 30th birthday? Anyway, ta ta Yorkie. Someone remember to lock the door after him. Dickov too old but Cole is a top class striker jim? Bloody hell in your incessant obsession with dogging Souness you can't even keep it consistant. BTW according to you jim Cole was no good when he was here, why do all our players get better to you once Souness let's them leave (ecept Yorkie who you loved when he got here) The deep mental scars you suffered cos our Graeme ignored your kid need to be healed with some SERIOUS counselling. -

[Archived] Striker Signs!
USABlue replied to Blackpool_Rover's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Don't worry about jims comments. jim is upset because we have got rid of Dwight Yorke, the man jim predicted would help propel us to a new high. A cause for excitement. Sorry jim, say bye bye to Dwighty baby. Never heard of this Bothrotd, but then again I'd never heard of Jon Stead, only thing I don't like is the bloody name. Sounds like a snobby memeber of the Oxford rowing team, Bothroyd. Hope he's a good one. The ones wanting some youth have now got it, I like it. Dickov's enthusiasm rubbing off on these young one can only be a good thing. To get rid of another leech from the club can only serve to boost overall morale too. -

I am not sure his heart could handle it. -

Even I agree. Bin the Burnley flag idea. Go with the penalty one its a good idea. It will highlight the lack of penalties to all. It may even tempt a ref into giving us one just so he can have his 5 minutes of fame, we all know how some of them like that. -
Good idea Bob, but aren't training ground bust ups with the manager a better option? Get called a baby and then wham, you're in the first team.

[Archived] Bobby Robson Relieved Of His Duties

That's too bad, the last thing we needed right now was to be facing a re-juvenated Newcastle. -
Also wanted by fans, exciting wingers who can beat a man or two or three and cross the ball bring in the fans. It's entertainment, it's what the fans want to see.
-
It would not have won the game, if we had scored a second the ref would have found a way to make sure the reds got a penalty, or he would have found a way to disallow the goal.
-
We had a top quality forward - name of Andrew Cole - but Souness showed him the door. Funny how all our players get better in your opinion after the leave, not so sure Cole needed to be shown the door I think he knew exactly where it was jim.

Did anyone else find the 4 mins of added time predicatable, I told the wife right towards full time, there is injury time yet, we are winning, down to 10 men so we should see the standard fergie 4.
-
USABlue, according to Radio Rovers, Gally's injured. As for the game, we were robbed by the Sir Alex Ferguson Stop Watch™ Thanks, I like others was becoming concerned about his lack of appearances.

Got about as much chance of that as the souls in hell have of getting iced water. Even less chance if the Geordies have signed Mr Rooney by then.

Different day, different game same old officiating. I am sorry lads and lasses but I think I have had enough of this game, our great game is ruined. I have seen enough to know now there IS a clear and present bias in this sport, it is intolerable. 4 Mins my arse. Sending off my arse, why is one team allowed to push pull hold and kick opponents yet another is not allowed any contact whatsoever. It's ###### it's rigged. Jon Stead is getting battered every game he plays he gets nothing. Ronaldo goes down with a gust of wind free kick. Saha clearly intentionally handled the ball back into the danger area ref doed not see it, ######. 93-1/2 mins into the game I make it about 1-1/2 mins after when the game should actually have ended. Yes United were the better team but that's not the point is it, referees are making decisions based on "player reputation" rather than the events that are actually unfolding in front of them and I am sick of it. Why bother playing the games anymore, why not just let the FA pencil in the results they want. I am friggin ###### off. You all pish and moan about Souness going on about the refs and lady luck well wake up people it's because he has a bloody good point. I am going for a lie down. Mugged again by the man in the middle, sick of it and it needs fixed. And another thing while I am at it, I am sick of the bloody commentators gushing supelatives about these "top" teams. An innocuous handball by Saha they say, no way he menat to do that they say. Shove it up your bottom I say, he bloody passed it back with his hand, he mean to do it. This sport, if thats what you can call it, is starting to take the shape of the WWF.

Where's Gally, Pedersen is totally ieffective, I'd have Gally on for him. Another superb strike by the "useless" Paul Dickov. I don't think Mr A. Cole could have put away either of those goals that Dickov has scored. Scrappy disjointed, Stead looks quality, Emerton should be pressing that young Specre more when he gets up against him, scoreline will do me though. Going to be a long second 45.
-
Yup three games in and he has not scored yet. I AM surprised the fans have not turned on him yet, Souness and his wasting of money and all that. In response to your comment, if we have to worry about Stead because of who he is playing with then we have a problem. The idea is that Stead will score goals or make goals regardless of who he is playing with, just like all top strikers do, or must. Jon Stead has to make it at this level because Jon Stead has the heart, desire and talent to do so, not because he is playing alongside some has been. Naive view, very niave, in my opinion that is, or are you just having another dig for letting lazy blue boots go. From what I have seen so far he has been there or there abouts several times this season already, things have just not quite fell for him, we must do nothing but offer encourage him he's a glimmer of hope.

I can confirm that Gamst Pedersen WILL get his debut against ManU, meaning he will play part in the game! I'm going to watch on tv, but for all of you that are going to the game, shout PEEEDERSEN PEEEDERSEN if we get a free-kick just outside the 18y box.. (Please listen to Krislu this time... ) Krislu, you have just hexed that. Don't you know Souness reads this board for his tactics and line ups. He reads what the fans want and does the opposite.
-
Didn't I tell you all we would sign this fella many many moons ago, right after the DePedro signing I told you we would still be signing this bloke, jeez no repsect these young uns nowadays
-
You mean like you said Jon Stead would be. Tosser, you string together a win and a few draws and you clarrots come out like cockroaches, I liked the quiet on here at the back end of last season when you lot buggared off cos you was petrified you were going back down. It's a long season Samantha, we will see where you are in a while. The fact of the matter that actually irks you is we had the money to spend where as you...., well, " Get your bricks here, come buy your clarrot bricks here" Heh Heh Heh.

At THIS club with these fans, no chance. If the lad has not scored three by halftime in his first game the fans will be on him, with harmonious moans of Souness out 'cause he's wasted more money on a dud. If he scores three, lays up another two and clears one off the line there will be somebody moaning about, yeah but he gave away a throw in. Mark my words unless the lad is a bonafide star he ain't got a chance of making it with some of these moaners. IF it doesn't work out and MG Pedersen does a Per Pedersen no right minded person will blame Souness for buying a dud. In this case, unlike a lot of the other Souey signings, we've bought a young star with potential. Not every promising talent blossoms into a top player - that's a fact of life. I applaud the club for going for someone on the way up, rather than on the slide. No offense meant Rover6 but I think you are being a bit naive. Right now there are folks sticking daggers in Soueys back for anything. I am hoping he will work out but I get the feeling the anti Souness brigade already have their critical heads on for this one.

Well I asked who and got some interesting answers. Point is there are no shoe ins. Most of the names offered are either simply not going to be interested or are nominees based on emotion, Shearer come off it, Hughes a gamble. Strachan good choice based on the efforts at the saints but let's not forget this is the same Strachan that got Coventry relegated and set about their demise as a whole. For me it's stick with Souness but find him a coach who can help him and have JW have a word in his ear to tell him not to be so pig headed, to listen to the coach. Roll on the end of September things will pick up. Not sure what this love affair is with Allardyce lately, if Souness had given the return big Sam has I am sure no one here would be happy. When we were doing well they were ###### they had one good season, I don't see them repeating that. As for the win at Southampton I see Bolton won it with a penalty.

Tonight's team selection was quite good...but anyone, and I literally mean anyone, in the Premiership and probably Division One would have picked better starting line-ups than the ones we played for the first few games. I like the way Nigel Worthington has Norwich playing, they have played Man Utd and Newcastle in the last two games and they played good football with attacking wide men...not necessarily wingers, but attacking nonetheless. They drew with Newcastle tonight and were unlucky not to get a point from Man Utd as well. Peter Taylor is another that I would be happy with, he has a very good record apart from one dodgy season with Leicester, he likes his teams to have good balance though and he gets them playing a good style of football. He took Hull up from Division Three last season and would surely jump at the chance to come back to the Premiership. Iain Dowie would also be another very good choice, I like what he's doing at Palace and I'm always very impressed with the way he talks about the game, he could be the right sort of man for us. If the weird team selections and negative tactics continue though I would take anyone instead of Souey... Good nods all of them LeChuck, I particularly like Worthington. I don't like Taylor, he was a disaster in the Prem. Of the others I revert back to my original question, why on earth would Dowie or Worthington want to leave their clubs for ours. I just can't see why, especially Norwich's boss who I think well do OK this season and entertain in the process.
